Kaio: King Of Pirates Bumped Back To Sometime In 2014

By Spencer . December 10, 2013 . 2:05am

kaiopv_008While comcept has been busy with games like Soul Sacrifice and Mighty No. 9, we haven’t heard much about Kaio: King of Pirates which was announced before both of those. The Kaio site was quietly updated and now pegs the Nintendo 3DS game for 2014.

Keiji Inafune talked to Siliconera about Kaio: King of Pirates and explained that while the game uses the Romance of the Three Kingdoms as a base for its story it will be an adaptation similar to  how Dragon Ball is based on Journey to the West.

wow the game is still alive… with Inazfune wanting to make 350 games at the same time its hard to get anything out I guess.

Anyway still looking forward to this a lot.

Worried for this series. Supposed to be a trilogy but the first entry is already taking forever to come out. There is also anime planned…
Wait is the anime delayed too? Maybe they want to make sure everything launches the same time.

I’m just glad it didn’t get canceled. It looks really cute.

Oh. I almost forgot this existed…
Good to see it having a release at least.

I was just thinking about this game not so long ago, I’m glad its still in development. I was actually getting worried that this game got canceled. For now I shall wait patiently for it.

I recall hearing once that Infafune said the game itself was already done, but MAQL was pushing it back because they wanted to wait for the anime and do a cross media marketing push.

Really? That’s interesting, well i knew they where making an anime but I didn’t know that the game is actually done.

I dunno, this sounds like Vaporware to me at this point.
