imageAquaplus has had their hands full finishing Tears to Tiara 2 and developing Aquapazza, a crossover fighting game. They have also been working on a sequel to Utawarerumono. The PlayStation 2 game was a mix of a fantasy visual novel with a strategy RPG battle system.

Development for Utawarerumono 2 is going smoothly, Aquaplus said during a round up of publisher plans for 2014. However, development for another game called Jasmine has been difficult. No specific details have been announced for either game at this time.

Oho~ Sounds good. I’m looking forward to it considering how much I love the original.

  • fyi1191

I can only see the gameplay being another Tears to Tiara 2 re-skin. Hope I’m wrong.

    • Stranger On The Road

That is basically every game out there, new style of gameplay isn’t easy to come up with. The story, the reason for battle, the type of magic, the characters and the enemies will be different though.

Any way, I haven’t seen the TtT2 gameplay yet, so I am not sure why you are worried, I might end-up sharing your worry if the battle system sucked.

On the other hand. I don’t know how the gameplay for Utawarerumono was. Did someone even played this game? I’ve heard that the battle system between the PC and PS2/PSP versions are very different because the home port was made by the team behind Summon Night. So do this make it similar to Summon Night?

The PC version battle is turn based SRPG and the PS2/PSP expand the mechanics with items, ailment and extra battle during story mode

The first game is really good VN wonder if any characters from the first cast will show up at all

    • Stranger On The Road

Despite having the VN with the fan translation, sadly I only watched the anime, and all I have to say: it was damn good, I’d love another story like that :-)

  • CH3N9

Hope they could make changes to the battle system. The system is too mainstream nowadays !!

  • Mitsukiix

YESSS i enjoyed TtT2 alot cant wait for more news~~

  • RaikageV

Whaaaa I didn’t know they are developing a sequel.
Will it be a “normal” VN or a an eroge?

    • Mitsukiix

its for ps3 it was announce long ago back in 2011 along with TtT2.

  • Rafael Martines

    Aquapazza 2 for yesterday :P

  • gangrelion

I wonder if some other developer is helping them with this game. Recently, they have been working a lot with Sting, but they have also teamed up with Examu for Aquapazza, even though I can’t imagine they making a RPG…Now that I think about it, there’s even the possibility that this game will throw away the strategy RPG style from the original to become just a regular visual novel. I have seen this happen before with other series…

  • Yan Zhao

Hopefully old characters return. I liked the cast a lot in the first.

  • brostar

Can you guys hire a decent voice actor the main character in this one, please? The one in Tears to Tiara 2 was so whiny I wanted to punch him in the face.

    • fyi1191

      That’s Jude Mathis for you.

      • 40

Actually, it’s SAO Kirito’s VA. Dunno his name
