Pokemon Bank And Poke Transporter Apps Delayed In U.S. And Europe

By Ishaan . December 27, 2013 . 9:31am

“Due to high Nintendo Network traffic, we are postponing the launch of Pokémon Bank and Poké Transporter,” Nintendo of America and Nintendo of Europe have announced.

The Pokémon Bank cloud service and accompanying app was supposed to be released today, but owners of Nintendo devices have been experiencing trouble creating Nintendo Network IDs and accessing the Nintendo eShop, due to high traffic, and so they have been delayed to an unspecified date.

“We truly regret the inconvenience, and wish to reassure everyone that providing a solution is our top priority. We apologize for the delay and thank you for your continued patience,” Nintendo write on their support page.

Pokémon Bank and Poké Transporter are a service and app that allow players to transfer Pokémon from Pokémon Black/White and Black/White 2 into Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. Additionally, you can also upload your Pokémon to online servers, and import them into future Pokémon RPGs going forward.

Lame, i was ready to move my pokes from W2. Dx

Worst is that if NN can’t stand the mass influx ONLY from japan, it’s going to break once pokebank is out on the full occident..

  • Big bummer. Everyone on GTS is asking for an arm and a leg for stuff you can only get through Pokebank, and I was hoping a US/EU release would alleviate that somewhat

Guess it’s Yveltals for everyone for now!

  • FivePointedTheStar

We have to admit, this is a lot better than Pokemon Bank/Transporter breaking down in the middle of everyone trying to put their Pokemon into the cloud server. If that happened, there would a lot more angry customers because the service they paid for just crashed.

Even worse, what if the service crashed while you were in the middle of “Transffering Pokemon. Do not turn off the power”? Only to end up with the service bugging out on your game and possibly corrupting not only the Pokemon you were trying to send, but your game data, too?

;_; I was so happy that I was going to see Misdreavus after so long, and now she’s been delayed

    • Brandonmkii

I was able to grab one off the GTS. Will be breeding for dayyyys

For anyone that wants some of the Pokebank, put Luvdisc on the GTS named “VP” requesting a Pokemon (don’t go crazy asking for Raikou and whatnot.) There’s a nice group of people giving you just about any Pokemon (again, don’t ask for Lugia and shit) you request via that method.

    • AuraGuyChris

It’s pretty easy to find any Pokemon you want as long as you don’t give a super common Pokemon or put up an insane request. There ARE people out there who want to have fair trades.

Just like the Global Link/Dream World! ~<3

  • Jettythesunfish

i’m a tad disappointed, but considering how many people would go through the e-Shop to download gifts, it was to be expected.

  • Spider-Man

All I want is to transfer my bros from Black 2 and be done with it.

  • AuraGuyChris

Silly woman, that’s a boy younger/older than you.

  • NBXX

I grabbed a couple of starters and the unobtainebles from kanto, ive been breeding them for three days thanks to that i filled up my kalos pokedex complete :D

  • Pekola

Blargh. I wanted my Celebi. But at least I managed to nab Phione through the GTS and most starters.

I don’t know what Nintendo was expecting, to be quite honest. They released a lot of things that can only be accessed through the servers and it blew up. What happens if people lose their pokemon?

I know it’s just data, but considering they could have also made something to keep the pokemon boxed in your SD card or something, the bank better turn out better, hack-free and have lots of perks.
