Here’s A Very Early Look At The New Carmageddon Game

By Ishaan . January 2, 2014 . 4:00pm

As you may recall, a new Carmageddon game, titled Carmageddon: Reincarnation, is in development for PC and next-gen platforms. This week, developer Stainless Games—who also created the original Carmageddon—shared a new video showing off how suspension will work in the game. (Thanks, Polygon)

The video above is a suspension test using pre-alpha visuals and a “Car Inspection Cam”. You can read more about the video in Stainless’ blog post, where they provide some insight into just what it is you’re seeing.

Carmageddon: Reincarnation is slated for release via Steam Early Access in 2014.

    Wa! So color! So Rainbow!

  • DesmaX

Can’t believe I’ve forgot about this one.

I want to play some Carmageddon now; that game was my childhood, man

  • Godmars

Right now it just looks like an RC racer.

And not only because the assets they’re testing, namely the suspension, is colored like a toy.

    • Scrooge_McDuck

It’s currently colored like that so the developers could see each parts easily.

Though, if not only for that, then for what else? Honest question, here.

      • Godmars

More than exactly said the color of the suspension wasn’t the only thing. That the truck moves rolls and bounces like less than a pound of plastic rather than a few tons of steel has more to do with it. The closed in perspective and the playground textures.

        • Scrooge_McDuck

          I see.

I did acknowledge that you said it’s not the only thing.

  • Demeanor

Wouldn’t this game be… controversial in this day and age, with all the attention the games are getting? And they mean to release it for home consoles? O_o

    • TheRealMalek

      And seriously why not ?

I mean it’s as shoking as the last GTA why make such a fuss about a really humouristic game ?
