Here’s Another Mind-Boggling Visual Novel From 5pb

By Eugene . January 3, 2014 . 4:00pm

5pb (Or Mages, as they also like to be called) are putting out a new game called Kadenz fermata//Akkord:fortissimo. It’s a collaboration between them and developers La’cryma.

The above is the teaser trailer for it featuring three of the girls who are within and will tell the tale of battles between “Transcendent Theosophy” versus “Mythological Creation”. What does that mean? We don’t really know either.

The video above does however show off Freya, Amaterasu and ordinarily-named Alicia, all listed under the “Miracle,” or faith, wordings.

5pb sure seem to really have their hands full lately, also intending to release two new Muv-Luv games this year (Whoa… it’s already 2014!) and Chaos;Child as well. Did we mention they will also be publishing a localized-to-Japanese game later this month?

Kadenz fermata//Akkord:fortissimo is expected to be out later in 2014.

Wow, they do like to keep busy which is great for VN lovers, though I have to say this doesn’t even interest me minimally. And I think the upside down cross over the white haired girls eye just looks ridiculous.
Im all for uniqueness in characters but the way that looks is just not very appealing.

  • British_Otaku

Might be good, might not be.
Waiting for it to get released, get feedback like True Remembrance (on sale for 250 yen on the Japanese 3DS eShop) or Ace Attorney/Zero Escape with a release from JAST or something till I take real interest.

  • DesmaX

How do you even spell that name?

  • Rishtopher

Not at all interested in this, but I will say that the trailer music stood out to me.

    • AkiraScare

d(^_^)b yes it was amazing ….

  • Grape Monet

Somebody needs to remove the punctuation keys from 5pb’s keyboards. The game will probably be good regardless of what it’s called, but this is getting out of hand.

“This video isn’t available in Germany, because it may contain music to which the GEMA holds the rights.”

Forget SERN, the GEMA have made their own time machine and created a dystopian world where they hold the rights to game soundtracks before the game is even released.

    • Ouch My Head Said Dionysus

      GEMA are total scumbags.

  • MrTyrant

Isn’t Age the one who develop Muv Luv or did they sell the IP already? haha.

  • I like the character design. The trailer was short but the music was very entertaining. Also, dat title lol

  • Servant BerserCAR

Looks like its gonna be an epic fight between Freya and Amaterasu. Looking forward to hearing more info about this Kadenz… something.

  • almostautumn

Well if they want their potential consumers to not be interested in googling and researching this title at all with that impossible to remember title they did a great job. I guess they want low sales to, which is a surefire with a title like that!

  • Epic Markell Joshua

    is this coming to pc?

  • Eriol

Too bad this game wasn’t even that good in the chuunisphere. Well, I guess La’cryma loves their rehashes, though, this is the… fourth? time that fortissimo gets another remake. If it’s not a remake though, then it would not make sense to not localize the previous all-ages game though…

  • CH3N9

I wish all the game you mention in this site had an English localization in the future.

    • Renaldi Saputra

I know PC VN have higher chance of localization, but if it doesn’t gain popularity like Steins;Gate, maybe no

  • Ladius

This trailer’s song sounds similar to the previous akkord game’s OP, by Yousei Teikoku (the group that recently made The Guided Fate Paradox’s wonderful soundtrack):

  • Chris

Mmm,.. IIRC, fripSide did the opening for fortissimo//Akkord:Bsusvier.

  • Shane Guidaboni

I will never say the name of this game out loud.

  • artemisthemp

Sadly won’t be released in the West
