Ok, This Is Getting Ridiculous… Even MORE Bosses In Bravely Default: For The Sequel

By Eugene . January 8, 2014 . 12:29pm

Are we missing any more bosses from Final Fantasy: The Four Heroes of Light in Bravely Default? Because if we are, I’m almost willing to put money they’re going to show up now. In the meantime, the latest two bosses from that game to make their way into the game are Lucifer and Leviathan.

Leviathan will be available from the 7th of January till the 9th and is recommended for parties of level 80 and above.

Lucifer however is a better pushover, available from the 10th of January till the 16th. He can have his wings ripped off by parties of “only” level 70 and above.

Again, you’ll only be able to download them once, but you can re-encounter them via StreetPass or Friend Invites if you want another shot at their loot. Or you could, I dunno, reset the game till what you want drops perhaps?

Bravely Default: For the Sequel is out now in Europe and comes out February 7th in the US.

Boss designs are so good. I’m gonna put so many hours into this game ^_____^

    • Ric Vazquez

      Amen to that

  • Shippoyasha

Damn. I hope the bosses aren’t locked out forever well after the event. Extra super bosses singlehandedly keeps making JRPGs worth power leveling. It’s cool when the events give immediate goodies but it sucks to miss the train. Makes me remember how Dragon Quest 9 was like.

A few days ago I challenged one of the nemesis with a recommended level of 25. I was around 26, so I went for it.

    *uses Blizzaja, party wipes*

“Why…would you even recommend this to me at this level. YOU LIE!”

    • Gregor

She’s doable at level 25, they didn’t lie, just kill her fast with fire, and put up abate water from the white mage skillset :D
      Already killed Leviathan, but I’m level 99 so… :)

      • God

        Kill it with fire!!

      • 하세요

I managed to take her down pretty easily around 29. I could’ve at 26 but my armor wasn’t the best, so when she would steal my stats + Blizzaja and that other AoE move, I would wipe, even in Default.

Making money early on sucks hard. Sure I could’ve used Merchant to get money but I would just gain levels so it was a win/win regardless with a little grinding.

        • Gregor

Yeah, that steal stats move was the real problem, since you can’t dispel it at that point of the game, and it makes her one shot everything… That’s why I suggested being fast and trying to kill her in as few turns as possible, took me a few tries but I managed to kill her at level 25.

    • TheRealMalek

Beated him at lvl 30 but damn they are some vicious skills XD

    • SMT

Level 25 would be enough, in terms of stats, but without having “Dispel” (Level 4 white magic, available in chapter 3) it’s really really hard, and by the time you get to the start of chapter 3 you’re probably at a slightly higher level. “Dispel” removes all of Mammon’s buffs, so it becomes much less of a hassle to just remain with your debuffs instead of a combination of 150% buffs on Mammon and 75% on your characters…

      • British_Otaku

An inherent problem with recommendations like that, some of the challenge comes from not having specific skills/jobs/stock (which can be acquired early but could also be ignored till end game) or not understanding all of the mechanics of a game. :P

It isn’t as linear as damage and health increases.

    • TGS Babay (Umar)

Lol same here. was like LVL 18 and fought a Lvl 10 Nemesis (The octopus Michael Chiklis king) , He spewed some vile gastro or something and dead….Bravely Default, Y U LIE!

    • Armane

The recommended levels are all weird. I can’t beat Satan (recommended level 50; party level 64) at the moment because revenge (gain BP when hit) caps his BP and then he annihilates my team.

I actually have a full village of bosses, all of which are unique, and only Satan and Mamon are below my level. So I was hoping they’d stop giving us bosses until I could catch up.

I suppose I could get rid of Mamon, but it’s one of the glitched Mamon’s which let you steal Elixirs which sell for 25000gp, which you can then sell back to Mamon with the merchant ability for a massive 60000gp, and if you run away at that point you’ll keep the Elixir/money and Mamon will be reset.

      • Gregor

Use the spiritmaster (you should be at that point at level 64) Fairy Ward so he can’t berserk you.

        • Armane

I only just started Chapter 4, so I don’t have Spiritmaster yet. But I can use Innoculate with Salvemaker, so that’s a mute point.

          • Gregor

Fairy Ward is probably easier since it targets the entire party and you don’t have to get berserked once… Once immune just attack him less, play safe and don’t let him get over 1 BP, phisical buffs and debuffs should help, and if you can compound giant’s draft (beast liver+dragon fang) you get double HPs, but I don’t remember if you have the necessary objects at that point…

          • Armane

Dragon’s Fang? You can get them from the Fire D’argns in Chapter 3 (I think). Also, if you level up your Monster Parts trader in Norende you can just buy them (for 5000 or so).

Anyway I got it done, decided to use Giant’s Draft and abuse Utsusemi + Jump (which mostly solved the problem of Revenge screwing me over), decided I needed an extra Salvemaker to deal with Inoculation as putting my healer out of action for two extra turns wasn’t something I could deal with.

It could have gone better, as Innoculate often ran out just as I’d get Berserked, which almost caused a couple of wipes. Also, despite being in Chap 4, I didn’t actually go looking around Eternia… Level 5 White Mage spells would have been useful. But I finally got him.

Now onto 70 Lucifer/Belphegor, as my village is capped again now that Lucifer is out. But I guess I should further the story a bit instead.

      • 하세요

I’ve heard about that. Only Mammon I’ve gotten was an Ether one.

So many bosses and optional bosses in this game. Looks like this game will be a challenge. Definitely can’t wait to experience this. Especially the lovely soundtrack. <3

    I’m hyped

  • Suriel Cruz

So the version we’re getting is ‘Bravely Default: For the Sequel’?… “Let me pre-order something… in Limited Edition, please.”

    • TheExile285

Yes, we are getting this version.

      • Suriel Cruz

  • Randy Marsh

Well all seven of the servants have all appeared in this game, next boss is mostly likely Chaos and all his top hat badassery.

  • I would prefer more heroes.

  • ndjn3979

I wish bosses could be encountered more than once.

  • k.b.a.

whoever answered my question about this earlier, thank you and i’m sorry so feel free to shoot me with a million facepalm pics. it’s available to download in japan for about a week, not just to fight but to download in keep forever, and after that you can only fight it through street pass.
but when it releases in NA, that period of time will have passed. therefore it will simply be free dlc stateside?

    • 하세요

It’s not really a “download.” There’s nothing in the eShop for Bravely Default (cept for the demo). When you do a Net Invite, they’ll appear in your village as a Nemesis from Square Enix (SQEX). As long as someone puts it on their “Send” for Friends and Net Invites, it’ll live on.

Not sure what happens if you have it set to Send and defeat it, like if it stays on “Send.”

  • TorNis Entertainment

So how the US version is gonna get those bosses if they time limited as for now and only 1-time?

  • Kornelious

I really like Lucifer’s design, really speaks to the “once an angel” thing.

  • Kuromadou

so these DLCs coming outside Japan as well ?

    • Armane

      Yes, Europe has Leviathan already.
