Senran Kagura Producer Working On Another Vocaloid Game For Vita

By Sato . January 14, 2014 . 9:31am

Senran Kagura producer Kenichiro Takaki is working on a Vita rhythm based on the IA Project, reports Dengeki PlayStation magazine. (Thanks, Re:Zaregoto)

“IA” is a Vocaloid developed by 1st Place Co., Ltd. The new game, titled IA/VT, will feature 60 songs, mostly centered around tracks of IA/01 Birth and IA/02 Color, and is slated for release on July 31st in Japan. Marvelous AQL are publishing it.

Gameplay revolves around using the PlayStation Vita analog stick to move around a small circle around a larger circle while pressing buttons to match the flowing notes. The game’s system involves having the player gather “energy” from the fans at live performances of artists and idols, then using it as a way to return it back to the fans through the song’s expressions.

IA/VT is slated for release on July 31 for PlayStation Vita.

So, the vita was first considered a jrpg machine then an Indie machine, now its going to be a rythm machine. (Not that I’m complaining)

    • Pdugna

and then by the end it will have every type of game

    • Duo Maxwell

It’s otaku machine as of now, and I’m pleased with that.

      • otakumike

As am I, for obvious reasons. :D

    • Kenny Loh

How about wii U? “Lack of games” machine? lol

      • d19xx

        lol *dropkick*

  • JonathanisPrimus

Are MAQL incapable of making interesting Vita games or something? I don’t want Valhalla Knights 3 Gold, Senran Kagura Dekawhatever, or this. Heck, I’d even settle for an Arc Rise Fantasia port.

Speak for yourself! My #1 most anticipated Vita game right now (next to Corpse Party: Blood Drive, anyway) is Song Composer 575 — rhythm games are one of my favorite genres in the world, and Hatsune Miku: Project Diva f is my current favorite game on the Vita. So personally, I’m loving the sound of this. “Interesting” is a relative term, and for those who enjoy Vocaloids and rhythm gaming, this most definitely qualifies!

    • Duo Maxwell

Maybe you should look at other developers for what you want instead of complaining about the ones don’t make games you want?

Senran Kagura is so uninteresting that it spawned an anime with 2 games in the making?

      • Leon_Tekashi

I second this. Raining down on other people’s parade just makes you look bad and assholeish. =l

      • MXC

Correction 3 games in the making.

    • buddyluv324

You would settle for a Arc Rise Fantasia port? Is today Opposite Day?

    • I don’t agree with what you said, but I liked Arc Rise Fantasia lol. I don’t think it needs a port though.

      • JonathanisPrimus

It’s the only way that game is getting a proper translation.

        • British_Otaku

Similar to Muramasa but on a large scale.

That dub for ARF was awful according to word of mouth.

    • Kenny Loh

A port of Arc Rise Fantasia would be good, but i like Senran Kagura and VK3 gold so not agree with you that much.

  • TheExile285

Gameplay sounds weird. I wonder if it will be like the Miku games visually.

    • chibiwall

      Even better
She needs some good background, but the model is ok for me

      • This song is awesome =^_^=

      • tubers

Isn’t that mmd tho? Are they really gonna use that model?

It’s hard to see the exact details on the small scan

        • chibiwall

I don’t know, but this is the official model of her clips. Probably she won’t be exactly like this, but I think they will use it as base, so she shouldn’t be very different

    • max

i think gameplay its like Gitaroo Man, or at least that’s what i can see from this scan

  • nonscpo

Same producer making 2 rythym games for the same publisher…coincidence I think not :)

  • Cool. I can’t wait to see some gameplay. If its anything like the Project Diva games, then I’ll definitely import.

  • Kumiko Akimoto

Whattt? The best vocaloid out is getting a rhythm game from the senran kagura producer. Is this a dream?

  • Yuzuki Yukari

    yes yes yES

No words can describe how I felt when I saw this, IA is by far my most favourite Vocaloid and this is just <3 perfection. I'm so hyped for this.

    • AkuLord3

THIS MUST BE A DREAM! PUNCH ME! wait i mean pinch…

  • Xerain

Can I have kagerou Days in a game now please?

    • DyLaN

Acc to Gematsu article on this, several songs in the KD series are included.

    • I was just thinking that! I was looking at all the merchandise the other day and wondering if the songs would appear in a game at some point. Fingers crossed Gematsu is right!

  • I don’t get what the IA Project is. Is that the name of a group who makes Vocaloid songs or something?

I like that artwork; it’s a really nice style. Is it for the game? Will the game have a traditional Japan theme going for it then?

    • wyrdwad

IA is the name of a Vocaloid character and voice — like Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin or Megpoid. So basically, this would be a rhythm game starring a different member of the same “species” as Miku. ;)

  • woah wait, they are making a game that stars IA? D=

  • Aesma

My God… my wish came true…
Now to hang another wish on tanabata (IA’s Concert on the level of Miku 39s)

  • HassanJamal

More rhythm games? Ugh… I have to spend more!
