What genre is this game? SRPG?

Trap torture game. Enemies try and attack you while you’re in a room, you set traps for them and lure them into them. You can string traps together to make absurd trapa that combo into many things like environment, other characters and traps. Its a strategy game in some senses, but previous games didn’t have RPG elements.

So it’s pretty much just like TRAPT

It is Trapt. Or a sequel to it I should say.

        • DaiRaiOh

Considering Trapt was a sequel to Deception 2, yep

Thanks two more questions to ask.

1: How is the story in these series?
2; Does the gameplay get repetitve quick?

        • Wesley Kenneth Houpt Mattingly

I thought the previous games had interesting stories, nothing earth shattering, but well developed. The gameplay most surely shouldn’t become repetitive. Though I can only speak for previous titles, you’re unlocking new traps to use often, and in different environments where the environment itself has all kinds of things that can make it continually exciting. Granted I can’t promise this in Deception IV, but with previous titles it was a lot of fun and had some decent replay value as far finding new and exciting ways to torture enemies and bosses, or finding amazing combos in the environment that would really awesome to watch and not always the easiest to set up. If you haven’t played Trapt, watch a lets play, its only in Japanese with subs, which I expect Deception IV will be the same way.

Voice overs are a tad intrusive, but I think its the whole game. Gives you an idea of what you might expect. Though I imagine there will be lots of new exciting traps along with old favorites.

Realtime action RPG, with the main combat mechanic (only mechanic) is activating traps to beat up people who invade your castle.
