oh man, I haven’t played D2 yet so the cheat shop will be completely new to me

    • icecoffemix

It’s one of the best thing they’ve done to the series. No more tedious Dark Assembly run for simple things.

      • Shady Shariest

        Are you serial now!? :<

        • icecoffemix

          Um, wut?

          • Shady Shariest

            “Seriously!? :<"

          • icecoffemix

D2 may not have been the best in plot department but it does many things good for the series’ mechanic. ;)

          • Shady Shariest

Oh my god… It makes this game so much better that i don’t need to dark assembly every time i reincarnate my chars =W=

          • icecoffemix

Been awhile since I played D2 but you still need that for Genius and the one below it IIRC. :P

I used it to mainly adjust enemy’s level, it’s now a slider. You can also adjust exp, money and skill exp but they all have cap.

          • Shady Shariest

I am actually most likely just buying D2 as the next console game (Can’t wait for Vita incarnation)

But in D4 there are some sweet spots on maps like when you adjust enemy’s levels all monsters are lvl 99 but give same amoung of EXP as 300 ones :P VERY CRAZY tacts :3

  • LM009

horo and index? can we expect more cameos?

    • Landale

All the ones that were there before, probably. Any new ones, who knows.

      • LM009

ah lol i didn’t know that, I set the options to skip animations :P

        • What Landale wanted to say was this is the list of them

Omega Fire – Meito “Anime Tenchou” Anizawa, Animate’s mascot.

Omega Wind – Holo from Spice & Wolf

Omega Ice – Astarotte Ygvar from Astarotte no Omocha!

          Omega Star – Bikkuriman

Omega Heal – Index from A Certain Magical Index

  • Cheat shop and innocent storage? Yessss. Innocent storage especially is incredibly useful to have, I managed to fill that up easily in my playthrough.

Also cool, I guess when this manages to come over here, I’ll have a couple characters right off the bat, huh? I don’t mind Rutile and Stella, so I’m looking forward to that.

  • chronocide

Take my money, NISA. Just… take it.

  • Luis Es.

Wow I wasn’t going to get disgaea 4 again on the vita because farming gear in this game is really boring and there wont be a dupe glitch in the vita game… But the cheat chop and innocent storage are very enticing and may get me to change my mind. I already have all the DLC for d4 that i wanted but you get all the dlc even the stuff i didn’t get + new scenario and a new character.. UGH! WE WILL SEE IF I HAVE MONEY WHEN THIS COMES AND I SHALL MAKE A DECISION THEN! Only thing that’d make this a 100% purchase is if androids were available right away. They’re my favorite generics of all time.

  • icecoffemix

Please let the throw mechanic be the same as D2 too.

    • Mostly not

      • icecoffemix

Oh but judging from the tile color (D1-D4 use uniform tile color for movement range, D2 seems to use new engine and color movement range per tile as do this remake), the chance is actually pretty high.

        • Ok I just looked at 1 of the newest traliers and it looks like you maybe right the tile color for movement range are changed but I don’t know if the are the same as D:D2 or not (have yet to play D:D2).

          • icecoffemix

They are, I can confirm at least that much having played D2.

Being able to freely throw your character diagonally freely (and with selectable range) really make for different game.

  • Demeanor

Daamn this looks like a solid buy…

  • FivePointedTheStar

Disgaea 4 did everything right the first time around. Monsters became *much* more useful. My biggest gripe about the entire series from 1-3 (and even Disgaea D2) were how useless monsters were/are compared to humans. Disgaea 4 made my favorite group of playable units viable instead of AI fodder.

Adding the very helpful features from D3 and DD2 are huge pluses.

I absolutely would love to buy this. Hoping that monsters got more instead of less like in Disgaea D2, I consider it the definitive game of Disgaea to play. Were it not for the fact that I don’t have a Vita… My brother does though. Hmm…

    • Shady Shariest

In Disgaea 4 monster became amazing, indeed :3
My succubi outshone Emizel quite quickly in magics :)

  • Shady Shariest

    Arcadian Vampire! Everyone sing-a-long!

  • artemisthemp

Hopefully their won’t be DLC for Returns, since I will need the US version.

    • TheExile285

      There wasn’t for D3 AoD

    • Whaddya mean? The handheld versions always has the DLCs from their console counterparts at no extra costs. Disgaea 3 Vita HAS all the DLCs it could possibly have including a new one for the Vita.

  • Multiplayer please ;v;

  • CH3N9

I see Holo from Spice and Wolf and then there is Index… Are they part of the game or they just happened to be …drunk and walk into this game?

    • Shady Shariest

Just a cameo as a skill cut-in. Wind spell.

      • CH3N9

hmm, interesting skill to have. thanks for the reply

        • Shady Shariest

Nearest to Nature and the wild they have spells… So yeah… Wind only fit for Holo :3

  • Getting this! But damn, I still have to get around finishing Disgaea 3 Vita. Seriously, Chapter 4 is hard! I cannot get past that stage where there are thousands of cowboys with that green tile letting them clone all the time. Well, time for me to grind my way then.

    • Shady Shariest

Hmh… Sound quite interesting of a level… Can you spell them dead or move them in this chapter?

      • Well how do I put it…let me see if I can show you a picture or video..

Here. You can move them but given that there are many more of these rangers at the other end of the map, it will take forever. Plus, they get cloned EVERY TURN. AND their damage is doubled or something so they can kill me in just a few turns. Well, at least this guy showed me how but I’ll need to level up my characters before I attempt the stage.

        • Shady Shariest

Oh… I think there was a post level like this in D4… I just spelled them while moving a mage to destroy the block *Shrugs* I might have used a little too much time fiddling with spells…

          • You did huh? Well all right, thank you for asking about this. You might’ve given me an idea how to wade through this.Time for me to get back into this so I’m all prepped for Disgaea 4 Returns. Even then, I’ll still have the DLC to get through and some of the endings…. man, Disgaea 3 Vita has a lot of content to keep me occupied!

          • Shady Shariest

Yupo. I am getting D3 along with my vita.

Also: To clear up further: When i said fiddling with spells… I mean’t in my case reincarnating my succubus again and again so she learned all spells :3

        • Kamakuma

I’m sorry to say my friend but if this is giving you trouble be prepared as a sword of (in)justice is in store for you… And feels lots a feels. *rubs eyes*

          • Shady Shariest

            Oh…The first time i needed to use diagonal throw… The pain still feels ;_;

          • O_________________________________O
NANI?! Holy… man, time to really grind my characters to some levels first then.

  • cyberkinghardy

    Rutile <3

  • shuyai

Finally, i didnt like Disgaea on console, way more suited as a handheld game

    • Disgaea on console is great you just need to cut ties to the real world to hardcore grind in it. D1 on ps2 I made it to lv 1499 in 2 days(1 weekend). Then I met Baal for the 1st time and I cryed because I lost 200 lvs when I lost to him and he killed my Majin in 1 hit. T.T

  • So many improvements. I might just stick to picking up/playing the Vita versions but support the series and still pick up PS3 version.

My D3 save file has extra value now! Still need to get Rutile and Stella in D3.

    • Lol Ya I beat D3:AoD on vita once but my vita killed my data right at the start of the post-game. T.T I just started it back up to beat it and all the postgame stuff before this comes to the north.

      • That’s a shame. I hate when that happens. Happened to me with LBP Vita, fortunately restarted and completed it without losing a life on all the levels.

I still haven’t touched the postgame stuff, due to backlog.

      • chroma816

That happened to me in Disagaea 1’s PSP port – all of my data was deleted after I completed the game.

        I wanted to die.

  • RichyGaming

I’m just not gonna buy another console Disgaea game again. I always end up dying to get the vita/PSP version but I already know everything that happens. Regardless, Ill probably still get this version because its too awesome to turn down.

    • icecoffemix

And you know that D2 is coming too :P

  • transferstudentx

why did i buy the ps3 ver whyyyy! i know this was coming but i was tempted by the CE

  • TheExile285

    INDEX! Day 1!!!!

    • Kamakuma

I had to double take on that Index. XD My inner Touma was running to go punch the cashier to get a pre-order. @–@

  • Skeptika Crediblus

Now all they need to add in is the ability to access the Warehouse from the Dark Senate, like in D2. Now I don’t have all that crap cluttering up my stores, and can bribe with confidence.

    • Huh ??? I don’t remember Disgaea 2 being able to do that.

      • Skeptika Crediblus

        Not Disgaea 2, Disgaea D2.

I would also like the hub music from Disgaea 3, as it was 100% the catchiest damn song I ever heard.

        • DesmaX

Beating Mao in the post-game should unlock that one in the shop

  • Anthony Birken

Disgaea games always consume a chunk of my life….and I’m damn proud of it! Shut up and take my money!

  • SlickRoach

Wouldn’t it be crazy if they gave you the option to Magichange or Mount monsters? But as usual NIS manages to outshine and overachieve with their ports yet again. I guess you really can improve perfection.

  • ivanchu77

I wonder how much it will take to localize this, since the translation is already done it shoudn´t take long…….right?

  • I am playing D3 on my Vita now(currently duping maxed traps) and these graphics are a MASSIVE improvement over 3
    REALLY looking forward to this

  • RagingTiger44

Still waiting for that western release date…

  • xXDGFXx

I really wish they would put in the master-apprentice system as well D:

  • ishyg

    And I’m not even 1/8 done with D3 yet…

  • Earthjolly

Favourite Disgaea game in the series, Day -1

  • ZekeFreek

For those wondering, D3:AoD sold pretty sell and NISA has been having success on the Vita so nobody start fretting.

Also yeah, it’s Disgaea. Of course they’ll bring it over.

  • chroma816

This game is packed as shit. Can’t wait for it to come over.
