Christmas Is Over? Not For The Musical Gals From Project 575

By Eugene . January 27, 2014 . 5:00pm

In fact, they’ll quite happily don some Santarina costumes when Christmas rolls around in-game. Case in point: Project 575 will have the girls going through their school year as the game progresses, and as the seasons change so too do the music, costumes and backgrounds. As many—including us—have noted, it’s a great music rhythm game for those looking to improve their Japanese as well.

The 5-7-5 pentameter of haiku is used to keep the lyrics going and you’ll need a good shake at it to understand and grasp what goes where when options pop up as Macha and Azuki dance to their latest tune.

Keep an eye on several of the songs below, as they also show off how you can use Song Builder 575, the iOS companion app, to insert your own photos into songs. And now, music spam.

Project 575 will be out for PlayStation Vita January 23rd.

“Project 575 will be out for PlayStation Vita January 23rd.”

SEGA’s already dating their 2015 release lineup?!! ;P

  • Roberto

    i hope this get localization
    some day

    • TheExile285

Based on what those who’ve played it have said, the game would have to be reconstructed for an English release because the core gameplay requires lots of Japanese knowledge so chances are less than slim unfortunately.

      • Arrngrim

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking also after all those screenshots. Localization is not likely, sadly.

  • Kornelious

How adorable :D A localization would be nice……Jeez how many times do i use that word?

    • Edzo04

its quite impossible for this game to be localized

    • Just Tim

Realistically, this would stay Japan-only, unless if SEGA West intends to package and retool this as an “edutainment” game (read: teaching about basic hiragana, vocabulary, and Kanji via Haiku poetry).

  • Edzo04

looking forward to getting my copy. seems like a nice tool to increase reading speed as well as being a fun game with nice music

    • At least for me, having only played a few hours or so, sometimes it’s less about reading speed and more about construction-recognition speed. :P

  • Grunwald

Aw man my copy is coming my way, I hope I can play it soon <3

    • I’m jealous of any and every non-native Japanese speaker that has a good enough command of the language to comfortably play this game. I shake my jealousy ridden fists at you!

Also enjoy it for the rest of us.

  • I may not be able to play the game, but I’m loving the anime lol

    • tarbis

The anime is too short though >_<

      • Ikr. I would love it if they eventually made full length episodes =^_^=

        • tarbis

Aye, not enough Macha and Azuki lol

  • Kyosuke Yoshino

I’ve bought it digitally, though it wasn’t exactly cheap :)
