Disgaea 4 Director And Neptunia Producer Making Hell’s #1 House For PlayStation Vita

By Sato . February 10, 2014 . 4:01am

Compile Heart are known for their Neptunia series that parodies popular video game franchises, and according to this week’s Dengeki magazine, it sounds like their next brand new PlayStation Vita title called Hell’s #1 House could possibly be a play on words on the Japanese title for Disgaea, “Makai Senki (Hell Chronicles) Disgaea”.

The teaser trailer doesn’t show much, but it mentions that the game will be about a group of creative geniuses who’ll be going into action in order to make their house the number one house in hell.

According to the magazine report, Masahiro Yamamoto, who previously worked as the director for Nippon Ichi Software as the director of Disgaea 4, will be involved in the development of Hell’s #1 House.

Tenpei Sato who composed the music for Disgaea 4 will also be part of the team, along with Hyperdimension Neptunia producer Norihisa Kochiwa, Monster Monpiece director Makoto Kitano, and Mugen Souls character designer Kei Nanameda.

While details are scant beyond the teaser trailer, the magazine reports a few keywords, which are: “One trillion souls,” “Blood relative,” “Fight for your life,” “Way of dying,” “Joining thoughts,” and “A half-dead protagonist from the start”.

Hell’s #1 House is currently in development for PlayStation Vita.

Just the music alone got me interested already! Good stuff.

    • God

I’m 120% sure that it’s a BGM from a disgaea game… wich means NIS may be directly involved :D

      • SuBw00FeR

Yep, It’s either directly from one, or the same composer, cos I got instant shivers when I heard it, Can’t wait!! :D

        • God

But you will have to, MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA >:D !!!!

  • Go2hell66

    yay disgaea spinoff

i hope its something like Makai Kingdom,
    absolutely love the vehicles :)
is this the one they teased a while ago with character silhouettes ?

  • Shady Shariest

Oh boy…lets see how this plays out.

  • Keko

    I don’t really get it, but I think I’ll buy it day-1.

  • DyLaN

The pigs-like critters are pretty cute. Interest pigued.

  • Sentsuizan_93

Seems interesting. Gonna keep an eye on this one…

  • SupaPhly

my assumption: its probably going to be a tower defense-ish game

  • Interesting. I find it neat how it seems like NIS devs and Compile Heart seem to be on pretty good terms, or at least that they overlap so much. Looking forward to seeing how this pans out.

    • Supposedly Disgaea 4’s director and many other employees left N1 last year after a scandal involving overtime and treating older employees like new hires– wage and all.

So…on good terms is definitely not he case here.

  • Prinny Dood

Hmm looks like a disgaea angry bird game, where you have to knock down people houses and take their soul when they die

  • ivanchu77

I didn´t even need the watch the trailer, just hearing the music was enough to know it´s a game related with disgaea

  • DesmaX

According to the magazine report, Masahiro Yamamoto, who previously worked as the director for Nippon Ichi Software as the director of Disgaea 4, will be involved in the development of Hell’s #1 House.

There was a time where that alone could make me interested in the game. But, after Mugen Souls, I can only feel bad for the poor guy

  • Theob Vious Choice

Here’s hoping it’s an RPG rather than an SRPG, the RPG world needs more open world adventures. Probably just going to be another SRPG or dungeon crawler though, but eh; if it’s good I’ll buy it, since y’know, it’s Compile Heart and you can’t really go wrong with their stuff.

  • Landale

I wouldn’t really jump to the conclusion that it’s a Disgaea parody just yet. One word out of the title and IF/CH having one series that parodies stuff out of everything else they’ve got doesn’t really seem to be enough to jump to that conclusion.

  • Ladius

I have been looking forward to this game since Yamamoto’s involvement was announced some months ago, I loved the games he directed so far.

  • chroma816

The music alone is confirmation enough that it’s even marginally related to Disgaea.

  • Anthony Hadow

Waiting on the US release of Disgaea 4 Return I was very dissapointed about the Disgaea 3 abscence of detention not being on ps3. I have a vita now so hopefully i can get D4 if they release it

    • Luis Es.

Disgaea 3 is on the ps3. I thought the only differences between the vita/ps3 version aside from the name is that the vita version came with all the dlc ,some new characters and features? But the story and whatnot remained the same.

      • Anthony Hadow

I realize this the vita version was basically an ultimate edition of it but I would have liked to purchase it for PS3 but since there is no such version for the system I can’t.

  • Aci

I really hope its something different from mugen souls.
