Galaxian 3: Project Dragoon Lands On PSN In Japan

By Spencer . February 11, 2014 . 10:19pm

Before Namco was part of Bandai Namco Games, they made an elaborate multiplayer Galaxian 3 arcade machine. While not widely available in Japan, Galaxian 3 was ported to PsOne with The Rising of Gourb as a bonus. Galaxian 3 will be re-released as a PsOne classic in Japan for 600 yen on February 12.

The Game Archives version does not support different controllers like the mouse or the twistable NeGcon controller. PSP players won’t be able to use four player mode either, but can take screenshots. Galaxian 3 is a 382 MB download.

  • PLEEEEEASE let this come to the US. o_o

    • Godmars

F*** that noise: Where can I get a 1000 YEN PSN card?

Wonder if I can get this off of JP Amazon with my US account…?

  • Göran Isacson

… This actually looks pretty neat, for a multiplayer rail-shooter made that early. haven’t seen many of those IN SPAAACEE. It’s mostly just Virtua Cop or House of the Dead copies.

  • Godmars

Will this be playable with Move at least?

    • ddh819

probably not since it’s a PS1 game. this game probably did not support guncon, but i wish sony could emulate guncon support with the move

  • Kaiju of the Grotto

it supports the psx mouse as well i believe (going to have to dig in the closet to find my copy) I wonder, through the miracle of the internet, if it’ll support the link feature as well? this allowed 2 playstations to be connected for 4 player, 2 screen blasting. probably not. I remember a Galaxian 3 “theater” setup that supported 16 players. that was fun.
