Here’s A Look At How Battles Work In Pokémon Battle Trozei

During a Nintendo Direct presentation last week, Nintendo announced Pokémon Battle Trozei for the 3DS. This is a puzzle game where you match three Pokémon to attack another Pokémon present on the top screen. In case you missed it, here’s a quick look at how that works:

Pokémon Battle Trozei will be available on March 20th in North America via the eShop for Nintendo 3DS.

Po-ké-mon, Tro-o-zei, move real fast now don’t go slow. Po-ké-mon, Tro-o-zei, Four in a row and you’re good to go.

I never beat it, due to a certain boss being too difficult for my 9-year-old self.

…It burned me too badly. I can’t even get the 3DS game.

What is this ancient, silver relic they’re playing this game on?
Wow these commercials. To most of the kids in present day these were considered their Gameboys.

The person in that video was NOT moving “real fast”… I don’t care if it is the first level, you swipe, swipe, swipe until something happens or your arm spontaneously combusts!

How can I ever forget that…(not)? I once owned the game and that.

      “4 in a row and you’re good to go~”

How can I forget that line, classic

I’m actually pretty excited about this game. I love traditional puzzle games. Tetris, Puyo Puyo, Bejewled, Puzzle Quest, all of it. Making lines and making matches is profoundly cathartic.

I ALSO love catching them all. That’s what I like about pokemon. Not the multiplayer, not the story, not the combat… it’s all about moving into a new region and catching them all for me.

So this game just seems up my alley!

Isn’t this just a Puzzle and Dragons rehash? It looks like the core mechanic of sliding from the original Trozei is no longer present. Drag and drop. Like PAZ.

Looks like it’s simple swapping rather than time-limited displacement, so not even close to being as interesting.
