No songs from Mystic Quest? T_T

    • TheRealMalek

      [half troll mode]
      Which one ?
      The first “mana” ?

Or the “Final Fantasy Mystic Quest” which is also knwo as the worst final fantasy ? ;p
      [/half troll mode]

I would like more songs from other square enix man, but i can only dream :/

Mystic Quest (not Mana, just to be clear) might be Final Fantasy Jr., but it still has one of the best soundtracks in the whole Final Fantasy series. As much as I love Blinded by Light from FFXIII, and as much as I like Battle 1 (FFIX), Those Who Fight (FFVII), and the original Battle Scene (FFI), Mystic Quest’s Battle 1 remains my favorite random encounter “regular battle” theme in the entirety of Final Fantasy, despite Mystic Quest being a crappy spinoff.
Also notable: Battle 2, Last Castle, Dark King Battle…the entire rest of the soundtrack, actually.

        • TheRealMalek

Jusqt heard doom castle and dark king battle, they need a truel instrument interpretation !

I feel like Mystic Quest is mis-labeled. It’s bereft of story, but it’s streamlined.

The battles and equipment a lot like Dragon Quest I & II. The moment you get something better, you no longer need your old equipment (in-fact, it disregards it for you.) You encounter enemies on the map, not randomly (something that started gaining popularity in jRPGs in the PS2 era,) all enemies show signs of being injured (which was monumental at the time,) the music themes are absolutely incredible, you never need to grind levels (magic is found in dungeons or secret alcoves in towns,) “defend” actually has you defend your other party member, you can save anywhere and thus never have to worry about having to suddenly quit playing, and the game has action-adventure mechanics (you get your own hookshot grapple and you can jump.. jumping being something that never happens again until Final Fantasy X2.)

Lufia II does it all arguably better by making maps more Zelda-esque, but every enemy encounter is drawn out a lot more. Personally, I liked the game at the time that it came out. Even after beating Final Fantasy 2 & 3 (the easy international versions of IV & VI) before-hand, it was still very enjoyable and I was captivated by the unique aspects that it had to offer (especially the lack of random encounters, the freedom of movement, and ability to save at any time.)

It seems to be a good thing I forgot about the DLC for the first game. It looks like most of it will make it onto the base game this time.

    • Rohan Viajar

I’m pretty sure they said that all of the DLC from the previous will be on this one.

So yeah. Yay for us! :D

  • BlinkingRune

Why did it stop at VII? I want to know more about IX. That’s the one I’m most excited to tap to.

    • Brian Carty

It’s just a partial list to stretch out the hype. I imagine they’ll release a list for 9-13 or 14 later. I’m hoping the Selbina music from FFXI gets in.

Also, I hope this game sells well so that I can nag them and nag them and nag them to make a third one with songs from all SQEX games. I would love a Theaterhythm game with Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana music. I’m sure there has to be good KH music too.

  • konsama

I want to know which type 0 music it got. >_<

  • NintendoPSXTheSecond

Damn it! I was reading looking for XIV and then got upset it ended at VII!

If it doesn’t include ARR’s night theme for Ul’dah there will be torches and pitchforks.

I can’t count the hours I wasted lounging around Ul’dah just listening to that beautiful song.

      Same here, lol.

I came looking for FFXI tracks and that list was like, “LOLNOPE!”

  • Tetris

I don’t see Pirates Ahoy! on the list. >:[ They can make up for that with Jesters of the Moon.

  • Lifestreamer

No “Eureka’s theme” (FF III)? -_-
I hope they add Burmecia’s theme (FF IX) too…

  • ν•˜μ„Έμš”

I can only play the demo but so many times x_x April yet.

  • Settsuo

Oh god please give some love to Crystal Chronicles!

    • Daniel Gulyas

I don’t want to think of the amount of time I’ve put into CC. The music NEVER gets old.
