By Sato . March 11, 2014 . 5:22pm

Gust’s Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky was just released today in North America for PlayStation 3, and it looks like a new game in the series will be announced soon, according to this week’s issue of Dengeki magazine.

Dengeki teases that we might be seeing a new Atelier game, which will be one from the “Dusk” series to follow up Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk and Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky.

The event, called Dengeki Game Festival 2014, will be taking place on March 16th in Akihabara, Tokyo. Atelier Escha & Logy, the second game in the “Dusk” line, was just released in North America today.

Sweet, I’m enjoying Escha and Logy

    • Any confirmation on their promise of dual audio on Escha & Logy?

      • Slayven19

That’s been confirmed since Ayesha that dual audio would be in every game since that backlash from that game. Anyway yes it has dual audio, its been confirmed since the game was announced for U.S release.

        • Yes i remember that article, but i was still pretty skeptical they they would do an “oops, we forgot, but got the DLC ready for it so you can download latersss, don’t worry” or something along those lines.

Saw the case for the game at the store the other day and unless I sped-read it too fast, it had 0 mention of dual-audio, so just wanted to confirm, thank’s y’all, now I can go buy it :)

      • Ladius

Don’t worry, Escha & Logy has dual audio.

  • Nanaki

    T-This is so…sudden!
I honestly don’t know what to say, but. . .

  • りんごタルト@エスカのアトリエ

    PS4 Atelier, please…

    • FetusZero

      noooo otherwise I’ll have to buy a PS4 D;

    • Deekei

No thank you. I defintiely prefer if it was released straight to vita.

  • TheExile285

Hoping its for PS3 & Vita. I think they should finish the Dusk series on current gen and start a new trilogy on next gen.

    • That’s likely the case…but then we’ve seen them pull Ar tonelico III to the PS3 when the first two were on the PS2.

  • FetusZero

ai come on I haven’t even picked up Escha & Logy yet.. Puro dropped it at a store, and I got there ONE minute before it closes, and it was already closed, so I’ll have to hope I can make it in time tomorrow despite the snow storm.. otherwise I’m going to have to wait until Thursday as the store closes later then :/

  • Firion Hope

That girl reminds me of emi from Katawa Shoujo o_O

Anyway the more JRPGs the better I say

  • Bell

YES! HOLY SHIT YES! As long as Gust continues to make top-notch games (and I’m sure they will), I don’t care how quickly they’re being announced. I don’t think any other series is this consistent in the quality and release timing of their games.

  • Hopefully a PS Vita game that isn’t just digital. That’s the only reason I haven’t download the other Plus :/

    • fireguardiancoty

I think that’s more KT’s fault than Gust’s. Don’t see why they can’t do at least a limited print or something.

  • Audie Bakerson

Didn’t expect Dust would get a third game. Gramnad and MK only had 2. Interesting.

    • theBridgeburner

Then there’s Salsburg, Iris, and Arland… But the Dusk setting is nice. Dying world with Victorian-esque fashions.

      • Audie Bakerson

I know, meant the first two trilogies were followed by duos. 3-2-3-2-3-3.

  • Slayven19

Hopefully linca is playble a 3rd time around(and not a DLC character either)

  • Rogerrmark

Dusk series probably won’t end on the third game (according to the diretor).
Hopefully they’ll keep expanding it. I want to play as Ayesha/Keith again :)

    • Ladius

Considering how much this setting has to offer, I think they will do the right thing if they keep expanding on it.

  • O_O! *Runs out to buy Escha & Logy*

  • AlphaSixNine

    YES! YES! YES!

  • I just picked up E&L today. Give me some time, Gust! XD

  • Elemiel

Oddly enough, I was just thinking about what the next Alchemist was going to look like. Is the Dusk series planned to be a trilogy?

    • theBridgeburner

I don’t think they’ve officially stated, but it seems quite likely. Although a quartet/quadology could potentially happen.

  • Kumiko Akimoto

    They are popping those out

    • Ladius

Atelier games have mostly been yearly releases since a long time ago, and yet it’s a series that has kept evolving and improving during its history.

I think having yearly iterations isn’t an issue if you’re able to keep the qualities your customers have learned to love, and some other games show us how long development cycles don’t necessarily lead to better (or even good) experiences.

      • Kumiko Akimoto

Hmm it might just be that I’m paying attention the news around them more so that’s why I’ve become more aware about it. It’s pretty surprisingly though but they come out good either way

  • It better be the third game. If we see any kind of spin-off, I hope it’s its own standalone thing like Annie and the other gals.

    • Ryumoau

me too. i really don’t care about any side games, to be honest.

      • Pretty much, for Dusk at least. I just don’t see how there would be a purpose.

  • Learii

I hope is sale well =D

  • Haganeren

    B-But, i’m still on Meruru !

    • Kamakuma

      I’m still on Totori…x’D

      • Im playing all of them from Rorona to Ayesha at random intervals, have only beaten Rorona thus far and want the new remake of it SO bad XD

It’s like watching new anime shows… selecting 20 of them, and sticking with 10 I like and trying to keep track of the names, characters, stories, plot, etc. all at once… But yeah, this series is worth it, so I can hang :)

SO much stuff to keep track of… almost reminds me of the insane amounts of memorizazion-forget-rememorize gameplay of what the characters go through in Chihayafuru, which is an epic show btw :P

  • Aci

I bet it will star a female alchemist with another alchemist partner
(Ayesha and Keithgrif / Escha and Logy)

    who knows…

  • artemisthemp

    Atelier Twilight :P

  • Chim_era

I totally love the latest. I took the Logy route and it’s up there with Atelier Ayesha. The battle system is the best I’ve seen in any Atelier game.

I’m going to put in some all nighters that’s for sure :p

  • Guest

I wish they would at least wait a month to give people time to experience the new game, before announcing a new one. Maybe its just me, but when i hear of a new sequel being announced before the movie/game is even out, it kinda cheapens the experience. :(

  • Suriel Cruz

I bet this new Atelier “Dusk” series follow up will be Central City related. I hope it have the same battle system as Escha & Logy and Ayesha, Keithgriff and Juris are IN. I want to see development in those. I know Linca(…maybe #2?!) and Wilbell will be in it, so…

  • SupaPhly

wait, I thought they said that the dusk series would end on escha and logy

  • [S]unjay

I want an Atelier game for the PS4.

  • Ok, bought the game once I got confirmation from players of the DA ^-^

For those keeping track, the “Barrel” audio is present in Escha & Logy… a HUGE smile cracked right across my face when not only did they say barrel in english… and for both main characters…

But sweet cream on an ice cream sandwich they each say it in THREE different ways…

(Yeah… this is kinda a big deal to me, and it should be for you all too :P)

    • Zoozbuh

Gotta love the GUST “barrel” in-joke <3

  • luna venus

Cool! I love the Atelier series! I wonder if there’s a male MC this time too? Hehe…!
