Hopefully PS+ in the rest of the world is graced by Ys.

It’s right up there with the likes of Trails in the Sky for both being criminally overlooked even by JRPG enthusiasts and also having some of the best stories and likable cast of characters.

I hear Falcom has a staff of less than 50 people, but they pump out such high quality releases with more charm than games made by hundreds, if not thousands of people.

I really want them to branch out to PC ports so a more world wide audience can support them.

    • Ksatmata

Their games are mainly in PC platform until some years ago

      • Shippoyasha

Yeah, it’s very unfortunate timing especially when more Japanese companies are realizing that the world audience awaits on PCs these days. I really hope Trails in the Sky for PC does gangbusters so Japanese companies realize there’s a dedicated potential fanbase waiting for their content.

And if the PC side does great, maybe they will have more money to do console games too.

        • Ksatmata

they still observing the market in Japan, so they might release other games on PC later

Really wouldn’t be too shocking to see Celceta make it to PC eventually, seeing as how it’s one of the only games in the series to NOT get a PC version. They ended up porting Seven from PSP to PC… for Chinese release (apparently Joyland was working on an EU English release?), and Celceta runs on an upgraded Seven engine… so it’s certainly not a crazy thought. And most of the rest of the post-16 bit games were developed for PC first and later ported to PSP if they even got a port (Origin is notably still PC exclusive).

I agree. The Ys series have fantastic ost, fantastic story and great characters. What’s not to love?

    • Nekodius

Especially the music. It’s just so good.

      • Tinye

        So DAMN good you mean…

  • Daniel Jeanbaptiste

They should do the same in April.

    • TheExile285

In NA/EU? Celceta hasn’t even been out a year in the West. Its been out for almost 2 years on Japan.

      • neo_firenze

Well, almost exactly 18 months in Japan (September 27, 2012). I get your point though, it just came out in EU a month ago, and NA got it just back in November. Still, crazier things have happened with fairly new games showing up on PS Plus…

That being said, Celceta is most definitely WORTH paying for. Strongly advise anyone who like action RPGs in the slightest to buy it ASAP. I’m happy to have bought it twice, JPN and US releases…

PS Plus is also getting a permanent discount starting April (8%, but still) :) I hope Plus and digital games start kicking harder in Japan

I just finished Ys Memories of Celceta and what amazing game it was.

Seriosly, go play it if you like games with exploration.

Since this was my first Ys, I will try to finish the whole series.

  • MrTyrant

Im such an Idiot. I read everything but skipped the part of this being for Japan only, obviously because we still don’t have Snk 3rd. Tsk..

  • Firion Hope

Im pretty jealous, actually isn’t that the Ys that came out pretty recently?

And man trails in the sky the third, we haven’t even gotten the second here yet :(

  • Izzeltrioum

Yeah, I saw that. I replayed the demo back in the day so much on Nightmare mode…

Now I’m playing the full retail version, and I’m having a blast. Not even Persona 3 FES–which I’m playing right now as well–can’t even compare to Celceta.

Btw, is the free 3-months plus offer using a PS4 still available? Since I use my japanese account mainly for the PS VITA, and I have a cousin with PS4…well, I don’t want to waste it. I still have TITS FC from the previous 15-days free plus offer last year. And I wouldn’t mind beating the game as well as the upcoming steam version.

stupid, usa should get them too instead of worthless crap like dead nation or whatever the recent free vita game was here.
