Yup, Soul Sacrifice Delta Is Being Localized

By Spencer . April 1, 2014 . 11:55pm

Following a retail listing for Soul Sacrifice Delta, comes another confirmation that Comcept’s hunting game will be localized for the West. Australia’s Classification Board rated Soul Sacrifice Delta with a MA 15+.

Not a huge surprise since Soul Sacrifice was released worldwide and for quite sometime it was a freebie for PlayStation Plus members. Soul Sacrifice Delta expands on the previous game with monsters from Grimm’s fairy tales and new spells. The game came out in Japan just last month.

Please Please tell me theres a LE edition

    • Kornelious

I would love one for this game :)

    • Histirea

      A Limited Edition edition?

  • Go2hell66

    with the anime opening?

  • ocaritna

I missed the first game, but to enjoy this game , do I have to play the first one?

    • Detrimont

no, it’s more like an expansion

      • mockturtle

*Like* an expansion or *is* an expansion?

        • MisterHoot

More like *is*, but a significant one
There’s all the core of the original SS plus a boatload of new stuff and revisions for the existing stuff

          • mockturtle

I see. I keep reading contradictory information on whether or not Delta has all the original content from Soul Sacrifice.

        • Detrimont

          like misterhoot said, is
except unlike normal game expansions, has upgraded combat

    • Sentsuizan_93

Not necessarily, but you can transfer progress from the vanilla version to Delta

      • ocaritna

I see. Thanks for the heads-up.

  • MisterHoot

Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes

  • Zypharium

So what exactly is Soul Sacrifice Delta? A DLC or the entire game + DLC?

    • MisterHoot

Basically everything the original had plus it’s dlc at the time, some massive rebalance on some spells (ranged has been nerfed, melee has been boost for example) with also a lot of added new content (more spells, more archfiends and minor monsters, more combos, more story, factions, stage gimmicks, way better customization, better spell searching and crafting, and loads of other stuff)

      • MaximDualBlade

melee has been boosted! That’s great news! At first I liked melee a little, then I shunned it, then I loved it.

    • nonscpo

It’s the equivalent of the “G” version of monster hunter kinda like a definitive eddition. However this copy comes with an extra story added to it.

    • Revyatheworldeater .

More like expansion pack level addition to the original game, but a bit more in this case.

    • Faisal Bin Saraban

It’s the same game basically but with many surprises~~~ Hehehehee

  • A huge smile came across my face when I read the headline. :)

  • Otto Cerqueira

No surprise, all Sony games are.

    • Histirea

Not all. The west is missing a lot of visual novels, and we’ll probably never get J-Stars due to licensing issues.

      • Otto Cerqueira

Yeah! But I am refering to games published by Sony. These games are localized even to brazilian portuguese, which is awesome, since my english is not very good as you can read. Haha

        • Histirea

Oh, definitely. I don’t think I’ve seen a Sony-published game not get localized. They put a lot of stock into their first-party games, so they have to reach as wide an audience as possible.

  • Arz

If Inafune is involved, 9/10 the game will be localized.

  • Kornelious

Sweet, I’m glad I waited on this so I can get the full expeience…..Though I woory at this point that there are TOO many games coming out in 2014
X( That’s not neccesarily bad for me, but my wallet on the other hand…………

  • dragoon_slayer12

I’ll buy this. With Ragnarok Odyssey, I bought it day one, but am not buying ace till it drops in price. With this, I felt Soul Sacrafices didn’t appeal to me enough to warrant a full price purchase. With all the extra content of Delta, I’ll definitely get it.

The reason I didn’t like it as much as I would love to is I hate the small, one room map that the demo had, so I don’t know if the full game had larger maps with larger/multiple rooms. It mite be a stupid reason, but I don’t care how many maps there are, I’m not spending full money to play 1 room per chapter.

    • Pedro Furtado

That’s a pretty funny reason. Man, I can’t stand Ragnarok Odyssey and it’s mainly because the game is stuffed with bloat, a bunch of “kill X mob” missions that are a big turn off. Soul Sacrifice is SO good. Story, gameplay, aesthetic And sometimes the maps are pretty big in Soul Sacrifice and it takes a while to find my target, so I’m like “why is this map so big…? Why do I have to run around like this?”

I guess we are pretty opposite :(

      • dragoon_slayer12

Ragnarok reminds me of a faster paced version of PSO, so it hooks me. I don’t mind the “kill X to proceed” process, I play these type of games for the game play more than the story. I just hate it’s lack of a level system. With Soul, I’ve only played the demo, and although I enjoyed it, it left a sour impression on me with my stated reason. I have it free on ps+, but I have a backlog of 70+ games across 4 systems, and Soul Sacrafice isn’t high on my list. But as I’ve said, I will buy Delta. It’s improvements and extra content deem it worthwhile to me, especially since I didn’t purchase the first version. If I purchased SS the first time around, I wouldn’t buy this cuz It feels like a double purchase to me for such “minor” additions (which is why I’m not buying RO Ace, and didn’t buy PSO v2, PSO episode 1&2+, Super/Arcade edition Street Fighter II/IV)

  • Ben Sylvia

Whelp, better finish getting that platinum for Toukiden.

Time to sacrifice all the monsters again. XD

  • samsneeze

The only thing this and other games on the Vita tells me is that I shouldn’t buy the first version of anything and instead wait for “enhanced” versions.

    • Histirea

Capcom does the same thing with Monster Hunter on the 3DS. It’s why the west didn’t get Monster Hunter 4; we’re waiting for 4G. Squenix did it with Bravely Default, too; we got the For the Sequel version.

With Ragnarok Odyssey ACE, SS Delta and other v1.5 games, we’re just getting the original version of the game first, like Capcom and Squenix give Japan.

  • KotaroInugami

Do we get the Freedom Wars demo with it? :D I know I know… Wishful thinking ._.

  • Goufunaki

Happy days! Now just need a NA date! :)

  • Armane

Hopefully they’ll see sense and include the JP voices on the card, assuming it gets a physical release. The wasted file size actually made my friend restart his save file to get rid of the DLC (as there is no other way to do so).

  • natchu96

Time to gamble with fate and spam blood magic all over the place.

Screw needing refills, all I want is health.

  • Kumiko Akimoto

    Well that was obvious

  • Ric Vazquez

Oh Yeah! Payers answered! Get hyped!

  • Pandakids09 .

ok now i really need to finish the 1st one now
