Bandai Namco revealed to the press at their Global Gamer’s Days event that Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment is coming to North America as a downloadable title on PlayStation Vita. Now, we’re allowed to let everyone else know.

While Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment features Kirito as your default avatar, you actually have the ability to customize both his looks and his name. You’ll begin your adventure in a town on the 76th floor of Aincrad and begin working your way to the top, fighting bosses and clearing dungeons.

There’s also a dating element in the game, and dates will sometimes end with pillow talk. Single-player aside, though, Hollow Fragment also has a multiplayer mode, where you can have a party of four players with one AI partner each, making for a team of eight.

Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment will be available in North America this Summer. More details will be shared at a later date, but in the meantime, you can check out English screenshots of the game out below.

  • MVRK HNTR

YES! I was considering getting the subtitled version from play-asia.com but I’m glad I waited.

  • JuVu

    Oh my God. OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD

EUROPE. Please, do NOT give Europe a cold shoulder with this one. PLEASE.

    • Thrasher429

This so damn much! if only it was a physical release then we wouldn’t even need to worry.

      • JuVu

I don’t really even care for a physical release since US isn’t getting one, as long as we get equal treatment with localized games, I’m okay.

        • Naryoril

no, what he means is that if it were a physical release in NA we could just import the game and be done with it. Since it’s download only we’ll need to set our Vitas on a north americian PSN account to download and play the game. And we’d need to get PSN cards somewhere to even be able to buy them (since we can’t use european credit cards for that)

          • Thrasher429

PSN cards are the easy part just make a US amazon account set your shipping address to a random US address buy one of the download codes and Voila.

          • Wappuli

Yes, that part is easy, and there are even better ways of getting PSN-cards than amazon.
But changing your account on Vita is a chore since you can only have one account per memory card. And having individual cards for each region isn’t wanted either considering how expensive they are.

          • Thrasher429

Yeah I still remember changing accounts so I could download and play Corpse Party…never doing that again for sure

          • http://www.falgram.com/ Falmung

Then the asian version keeps being the best option for you since its physical and probably 100% identical to the US version. It probably only got localized because they’ll just bring the asian version rebranded.

      • Timberman

This, and that! Hope EU gets it, even if only digital :)

    • David García Abril

The anime hasn’t come to Europe yet, except through Crunchyroll, and that only for the UK.

Don’t count on it, at least not yet.

      • lordsofskulls

;p it comes through private anime places like kiss anime websites ;3

      • Keith

The anime has been licenced in France (namely in a part of Europe). It was firstly streamed on Wakanim (a humble simulcast similar to Crunchyroll), then it was released in Dvd and Blu Ray 1 year ago.

  • Naryoril

What about Europe? Since it’s a download only game and switching accounts on a Vita is a pain.

If there are no plans i’d still stick to the asian retail version.

    • Kenny Loh

You should buy the Asia version, it also featured english subs plus you can have the Vita card version.

      • Naryoril

That’s what i meant with “If there are no plans i’d still stick to the asian retail version.” ;) I have preordered it anyway and can’t cancel it (play-asia, paid with paypal). But i guess if it really is released in Europe i would buy it a second time, just because.

        • Kenny Loh

oh, sorry, i din’t read the full comment, my mistake… i guese it will be releasing in Europe PSN too :)

    • Deademon

It would really suck if we don’t get it , and like you said its too much of a hassle to be switching accounts. I have a lot of PS1 games on US store that I can’t play on my Vita.

    • Thrasher429

would the menu screens etc still be in japanese though in the asian version?

    • http://twitter.com/#!/kaishou Kaishou

Since Bandai Namco been pretty solid with their release schedule for both region, I can safely assume that a European release will be announced soon.

    • MikelAL93

Surprised this isn’t getting an English dub given that the anime had one.

Oh well, time to import the Chinese version for English subs on the cart.

    • http://hanzoadam.tumblr.com/ Hanzoadam

That’s my plan for now too

    • David García Abril

Like i said somewhere else, I wouldn’t count on it, since the anime hasn’t really come to Europe yet (only Crunchyroll in the UK).

  • Ping92

this is good news. bandai namco is starting to bring vita games to the west although i would prefer physical copies. guess i might still have to import the taiwan version

  • DarthSithZero

Wait wait wait …really???? No late April fools joke?. OMG Great news. Now if more japanese games were released in the western the vita could have a different fate.

  • TheExile285

    YEESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!

  • Tylor Boreas Makimoto

Meh. Might read the manga, give it a chance to see if I like it. Hopefully, however, with the recent influx of hopeless localizations, we’ll see Digimon at some point.

  • Renaldi Saputra

    WAAATTTTT???!!!
    IMPOSSIBBRRUUU
    BAMCO MADE A MAGIC

    • tubers

That’s true! I remember you replying to me yesterday and said it was literally impossible.

I was thinking that you’d be extremely surprised after I saw this news a few hours ago xD

      • sherimae1324

its because u are all a bunch of pessimists, hmph >_<

        • Renaldi Saputra

but, hey, accel world games and another games on PS3 and PS Vita didn’t got localized

          also digimon games

it’s reasonable that we’re being pessimistic

        • [S]unjay

          So kawaii :3

    • God

      A wizard did it.

  • XYZ_JolteonZ980

Lay and Sleep with KLEIN! Cant wait!!!!!!

  • rekka_zan

Goodbye, wallet. It’s nice to know you.

    • Samsara09

hey there pal!Fancy seeing you here.I was looking around for good stuff for the vita now that Hearts is gonna get released, and I stumbled upon this little gem of a game here.
      how good is it?

      • rekka_zan

I don’t know how good it is because it hasn’t been released yet hahaha. But looking at the trailers, the gameplay looks good so far. They said they’re trying to make it feel like the real Sword Art Online game, so I imagine it will feel like a crossover between Ragnarok Odyssey and PSO2, with the addition of “Switch” command.

Me… I just want to play SAO in English _(:3 」∠)_

        • Samsara09

yeah…But why is this game rallying so many people?I imagine that the anime or whatever that based this game must be godly…or something of the sort.

          • Kornelious

The game is pretty cool, but the reason for all the hype is that there was almost NO chance of this game being localized….Yet here it is :D

          • rekka_zan

Yeah, this totally came out of nowhere :)) I wonder if Bamco got invaded by aliens or something.

          • rekka_zan

Hmm, “godly” or not would be debatable. It’s popular, that’s for sure, but the amount of haters surrounding this series is also incredibly high. I personally think it’s pretty good for the first half season, but from there it gets a bit boring. It’s like .hack series but more action/romance-oriented.

  • Liamv2

Wow I can’t believe it. I hope Europe gets it as well.

  • Hikaru Lighthalzen

it looks like i m dreaming , its better to wake up soon

  • Atwa

Wow, the Vita is looking incredibly strong this year!

    • Tinye

Couldn’t agree with you more. I think this is the year of the KaBLAM for the Vita if you know what I mean.

  • Notlol

I was just about to preorder the asian version today lol.

  • http://people.ign.com/rob1610 rob1610

Upcoming Next : Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth localization :]

    • Renaldi Saputra

      it’s still 2015 dude
      still long

      • Reki Honoo

        Maybe digitize recode instead?

        • Renaldi Saputra

it’s the only way we can get higher chance of cyber sleuth being localized

          • Reki Honoo

Yeah true. Sadly nothing on digimon yet

          • Renaldi Saputra

sigh, they really want to see the petition getting 30k numbers… then we still have a long way

please share the petition to your friends

    • xavier axol

I like the way you think, you have my vote.

    • Hexodious

As much as I like this idea, I don’t see it happening. No western handheld/console release since 2008, that alone speaks a thousand words.

      • Renaldi Saputra

        it’s still on 2015
how can Bamco directly announce localization when the game is still in progress?

        • Hexodious

We can still hope after all, since everything can happen at the most unexpected times.

          • Renaldi Saputra

yeah, and Bamco’s acknowledgement of re:digitize decode’s campaign

      • Steven Higgins

But we also haven’t had an Anime to promote it since 2006 but now that we have Fusion maybe the chances are better.

    • Nickie

T-Thank you bandai! I love you! This and Tales of Hearts R! You rock!

ps. @Unlimax:disqus you’re talking my language ^_~ but I’m thankful for what were getting!

    • Notlol

      Hopefully.

    • CozyAndWarm

Still waiting on ReDigitize Decode, man…

    • Kalis Konig

Don’t forget about Decode for 3DS! Namco Bandai has really cleaned up their acts.

  • Raze

    Digimon CyberSleuth next…

    C’mon BAMCO…

    JUST…DO…IT!!

  • xavier axol

holy cow, I didn’t see it coming, well at least not that soon. there may still be hopes for God Eater 2, gosh Namco has been more supporting than sony themselves lately. there’s still some more Namco titles I like to see coming to the west like Jvs, digimon, and innocence r. sure I may not buy them all day one, but do I like more options. :)

    • dark-kyon

i think what banco is waiting for god eater 2 burst.

      • Renaldi Saputra

with this announcement, it could also be

      • xavier axol

you might be right, it could happen.

  • Splinter

Thank you very much, Bandai Namco! Buying on day one!
I guess many people will have to cancel the preorder for the Taiwan version.

  • Nas

Come on physical release for EU.

  • LightOtaku

Yet more reasons to buy a vita…

  • DyLaN

Oh My God. Finally a game based on an anime/LN series that isn’t Jump got localized.

    • Renaldi Saputra

      MAGICCCC!!!!!

    • Shiki

I’m so happy right now. Namco Bandai, good job capitalizing on a popular anime franchise! Pretty sure it will be dual audio too. Wish there was a hard copy but hell, I’m excited for this nevertheless.
      GET HYPE!

      • Manny Being Manny

Digital only, so don’t expect a dub

        • Shiki

Good point. I don’t mind, I watched the anime with the original voices so that’s how I would prefer it anyway. Tomatsu Haruka and Taketatsu Ayana contribute with their fantastic voice acting. Makes me anticipate for the next SAO season anime.

        • xavier axol

that’s actually a plus to some people :p
          “subs before dubs”

  • ZetaSiren

Haha! Finally! Honestly was expecting this :D

  • http://hanzoadam.tumblr.com/ Hanzoadam

Thats awesome, Hope EU get announced too, I have the Chinese/English sub version on order so may cancel that to get this version

  • timanel1

    nice for SAO fans :)
they could bring Attack on Titans 3DS game for europe too..

    • 하세요

I heard that game was pretty meh. I won’t say horrible, but I haven’t heard any praise, either.

      • tubers

Could still have a good market just by name alone.. well at least that seems to be what happened in Japan.

    • JonathanisPrimus

Attack on Titan wasn’t a Bandai Namco release.

      • Renaldi Saputra

but SnK game is still possible for west release
        it’s Spike…

  • nonscpo

DIGITAL ONLY!…just when I finished reading the title and thought Id be super happy. Guess Im still going to have to import the ASIA version at some point.

    • dark-kyon

you know what psvita is dlc region locked.

      • nonscpo

Nooo damm you for reminding me of that. DLC the cure and the curse of the video game industry :(

        • Thatguy

For some people, who can’t import, it’s salvation.

    • xavier axol

oh come on, we can’t be picky at times like this. the vita has such a small install base, that Namco it’s actually taking a risk doing all these localizations of titles. the least we could do is support their business.

      • http://twitter.com/#!/kaishou Kaishou

Hey! People are entitled to have a physical copy of the game they want to purchase …. =V

        • xavier axol

I totally get where you’re coming from, but again it’s risky business. think of it like this, if it sells well then they could release the physical copy. if they see good sells numbers, then there wouldn’t be a reason not to.

          • http://twitter.com/#!/kaishou Kaishou

            I was being sarcastic btw.

          • xavier axol

ok *embarrassed face*, moving on…. >.>

      • SaiyanJedi_Trunks

I understand the picky comment even though I prefer to have my games as a physical release. However, the fact that we get a North American version for a SAO game is huge…so I’ll definitely be downloading it.

      • nonscpo

The problem with digital only is that it wouldnt be a big issue for a new IP in the west (i.e. Senran Kagura Burst) however it is an issue for established IP’s here (i.e. AA Duel Destinies). The other problem with both is that even if you support them that doesnt automatically guarantee a physical/retail release, you could end up with digital releases for any future installments.

        • http://s932.photobucket.com/ usagi_san

Same could be said with supporting physical. Does that guarantee the next title would be physical, if the previous failed to garnish enough support to justify future physical releases?

          • nonscpo

Usagi_san youre absolutely right, and thats the problem, were currently stuck in this phase in the industry where digital is the future and all the publishers want to press the FastFoward button. Little by little we are losing our rights as consumers to buy the products we want at the stores, while some of it can be for the good for the most part I cant see anything good that will come of it.

          • http://s932.photobucket.com/ usagi_san

You’re right. I think most would prefer the choice of being able to purchase a physically or digitally version. The problem with digital, as you’ve said, is that it becomes dictated by the publisher: How much it will cost? Will it ever see a price drop? How long will it be available to purchase digitally?

For me, it’s the lack of demos. I tend to avoid most digital-only titles due to the lack of trial versions. If digital is going to be pushed – considering that once bought there’s no re-sale option – all games would need a demo. We as consumers cannot continue to purchase a digital game for x amount without being able to make sound judgement.

  • CaibreGreyblade

    No EU release? Pity.

  • Clifford Michael

Finally. I guess Bamco doesn’t hate us after all.

  • iamakii

Yes, games on Vita just keep on coming!!

  • SaiyanJedi_Trunks

Thank you, Bandai Namco! I don’t know how many times I have heard from people that they would never localize a Sword Art Online game. Digital is a wise move at first. I hope it gains the support so we get future anime focused titles.

  • MCoelho

I still have hopes for God Eater Namco

  • Eder García

faster than i thought! good news for Vita adepts

  • Shirogane Takeru

    Year of the localizations

    I wonder what’s next….

goddarnit Im@s I hope you get a console localization, and not just some mobile game only one

also, hoping for more visual novels (heck Hakuoki’s getting localized)

    • Renaldi Saputra

hakouki is by aksys, and IF game

      • Shirogane Takeru

        yes, but still… >.<

(oh don't mind me I'm just holding on to the nonexistent chance that Muv-Luv Alternative Total Eclipse gets a localization)

    • Naryoril

Looking at my avatar, yes im@s would be amazing. Fortunately for me, the language in im@s is relatively easy and i’ll be able to understand the story anyway, although it will need quite some effort (im@s 2 is what pushed me to get to this point ;) ).

In the latest youtube video where they introduce the various new features of One For All they said in the end that the next video will be the last one and that it will have a surprise. Who knows, though i certainly wouldn’t bet anything on it.

      • Shirogane Takeru

Who knows? With titles that weren’t likely to be localized getting localized, we might have hope

    • Renaldi Saputra

since im@s don’t have large fanbase in the west and taboo gameplay, it’s still a doubt
but with Bamco doing this kind of MAGIC

      well, who knows

      • TrueDefault

        “Taboo gameplay”?
I don’t remember anything weird ever happened in Idolmaster?

        • Renaldi Saputra

I mean taboo for western ppl
they mostly will say “wtf is this game?” except fans
since the fanbase of im@s isn’t even big in the west, rather small…
they haven’t even faced idol simulation games before

note that that im@s game isn’t rhythm one

  • dark-kyon

look like our chinese friends what speak english gave a hand to the fellows gamers in the west to convince a banco to make a english version.can i dream for a future madoka game in the west now.

    • SaiyanJedi_Trunks

I would love a Madoka localization as well as the new Girls Und Panzer game.

    • nonscpo

It would be nice, but it would probably be digital only too.

    • TrueDefault

Yes!! I’m sure I won’t mind double dipping!

  • David García Abril
  • Nitraion

Bamco having affair with sony recently….
sony just ditch SE not long ago…

    • MikelAL93

Not to mention, the game won’t be dubbed like Dynasty Warriors Gundam Reborn.

  • natchu96

. . . is this game actually any good? I still haven’t quite figured out how combat works in SAO games in the first place.

Also, glad I’m not European . . . well I’m not American either, but still, and NA account is an NA account.

    • Lynx

Not even out yet. If I’m wrong and it is, it just came out.

    • DyLaN

If you are a fan of the series, fine.

  • Göran Isacson

Ha ha ha oh wow, kinda goes to show what the franchise thinks about it’s main when you can edit his looks and change his name so you don’t even have to pretend it’s him. BUT just to not let this be a completely negative nancy post, cool for the fans that this came out! Heck, cool that an anime game was localized to begin with, you don’t see that very often.

    • Renaldi Saputra

      even not a jump series

it’s second time after FMA I think

  • http://www.segalization.com/ Kuronoa

I been meaning to try the series. I have the novels on my wishlist since it was announced to be translated.

  • SirRichard

So this year, Namco are publishing, amongst others, JoJo ASB, Short Peace (all 4 movies plus the game on a disc, no less), Tales of Xillia 2 (a year after the first), Tales of Hearts R, various other anime fighters and now this.

Sweet Jesus, Namco, trying to lock down this market for yourselves, eh?

    • doubleO7

I’m going to point out that, at least in North America, they’re only releasing the Short Peace game, with Sentai Filmworks handling the anime anthology.

As far as I know, Europe is the only English-speaking region getting the anime+film package.

      • SirRichard

Ah, really? That sucks, having the lot together seems like the best way to experience Short Peace.

  • Hexodious

God Eater 2 and ANY recently released Digimon game, and i’ll be satisfied with Bandai.

    YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES.

  • CirnoTheStrongest

I’d rather have Madoka by a long shot (considering I don’t want this game period), but that’s just how life is -_-

    • DyLaN

Sadly the PSP ship have sailed long ago since Portable is higher on my “want” list than The Battle Pentagram. But I heard the fan TL for Portable is still ongoing.

      • CirnoTheStrongest

The portable one looks pretty nice too, but Battle Pentagram is definitely higher on my list. It’s basically like an official Grief Syndrome with more story.

        • DyLaN

I can’t help but notice TBP reuses a lot of Portable graphic assets after watching some Portable videos and apparently TBP have no new witches/dungeons :(

        • Brandonmkii

Have you played it? I own a copy and I can actually say it’s one of the worst games I’ve ever played.

          • CirnoTheStrongest

And I’ve heard it’s amazing from other people who I know.

          • Brandonmkii

Kudos to them, then, for being able to put up with it. It was probably one of my biggest disappointments in recent gaming memory. I hope you enjoy it more than I did.

          • DyLaN

Frm wht I heard, every pairings (I think) gets some teasing in TBP so maybe its that.

  • Aristides

Cant wait till they announce a physical release for Europe so I can import ^___^. But of course if they don’t I’ll just get the western release.

  • doubleO7

Eh, I watched about half of the anime on Toonami before dropping it. Didn’t care for it, so I won’t be buying this.

Having said that, its great to see more anime-based games localized. Bamco had really stepped up their game lately on that front. Hopefully its a sign of more to come!

    • Reki Honoo

For a moment there I thought you were gonna be one of the people who hate the anime with a passion, and is wondering why it would get localized. Glad to see you have a good head on your shoulders.

And with games like these getting localized, maybe we can see games like digimon getting a chance once again.

      • Christopher Nunes

I hope so, I want Digimon World Re:Digitize Decode to be released in the West! I love playing on my JPN and I have a Dorumon and he’s about to become an Alphamon soon!

  • lordsofskulls

I been sick for couple days now, but than Bandai Namaco announced “Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment” and now life is good o.o

  • http://amc9988.deviantart.com/ amc99

No cart… but I guess I can get behind this.
Compared to the kind of ugly Taiwanese logo, now this really is the international version.

Time to cancel the Taiwanese version and save some money, this will probably be $39.99.

Think I’ll get Demon Gaze now ヽ(^。^)ノ

  • vault2049

Honestly (and I believe I expressed that here) never expected this come to NA. Add to that… This summer! That’s fast, really fast. Glad I got that 32GB PS Vita Memory Card on sale last month. With this and Tales Of Innocence coming out, My old 16GB card would suffer.

If the game comes this summer and as digital download only, my guess it’s that they won’t be dubbing it (yay!) Or is it Hollow Fragment a light-voice acting game?

    • Nameless App 1989

Tales of Hearts is coming out, not Innocence.

    • TheExile285

Its Tales of Hearts R thats being localized. Not Innocence R.

  • Johnny Salas

You can cjange your Avatar!? EFFFFF THAT! I’m playing as Kirito!

  • Kornelious

    …….No…..No, It cant be…….IT IS!!! :D :D :D
Woohoo!! A SAO Hollow Fragment localization! Now this completely caught me by surprise!
It’s gonna be a Digital only release huh, well that’s okay, I feel like the Vita encourages Digital Downloads more (Though Physical would be nice I’m just glad we’re getting it to begin with!) I guess we won’t have to worry about the subtitles in the Chinese version anymore now will we X)
I wonder if there going to Dub it or not? Seeing that it’s a Digital only game, probally not, but once again that’s fine by me :)
I don’t know what;s gotten into Bamco but KEEP EM COMIN!!! :D

  • http://vindictushots.tumblr.com/ Okuni-chan

    Awwww Yeaaaahh! *Hugs Vita tightly*

  • Black Is a Status

they must need jackets in hell, b/c it just froze over.

  • Kaitou21

    Now this and freedom wars?
I think it’s time to stop hating and get a vita.

  • Earthjolly

This is a vita exclusive right?

    • TheExile285

      yes

      • Earthjolly

Good now I can boast a bit :P

  • Firekitty

Give me dual-audio, Namco. I believe in you.

I’d also be happy with sub-only, but the people who like dubs deserve to be happy, too.

  • TheSwordUser

    *Nanosuit voice* Maximum hype.

Now all that is left is confirming this for Europe.

  • goob47

Wow… this looks eerily similar to phantasy star online…

  • Alex

I want a Vita so hard right now. I hate SAO but this game looks damned entertaining.

  • Demeanor

Silica and Leafa will… probably make me get this game XD

  • Kornelious

So on a side note, who here thinks would wait and get the English version and who would get the Chinese version .?

  • Gabi López Ramírez

“Now we’re allowed to let everyone else know.”

  • Juan Manuel M. Suárez

It’s a shame people in the West still reject the PSV; because this year alone is just showing so much promise it’s almost orgasmic~.

  • Freud_Hater

So… will Kirito be voiced by Bryce Papenbrook? And will Asuna be dubbed by Cherami Leigh? Y’know, like in the Funimation dub?

    Feels unlikely :/

  • http://danierc-polloconpapas.tumblr.com/ Eduardo Rocha

Kind of a shame it’s only digital but better than nothing :3 Hopefully they localize Digimon.

    • Kornelious

I actually don’t mind too much, I feel that Digital games are a little more convienent and I feel that the Vita especially encourages that while on the move or something.
Don’t get me wrong though, I would LOVE a physical edition but since it’s a portable game I don’t mind too much that it’s digital :)

      • http://danierc-polloconpapas.tumblr.com/ Eduardo Rocha

I don’t mind THAAAAT much either but I’ll need to get a new memory card T_T and those are expensive as hell right now.

        • Kornelious

          Yeah me too, over 100$ for a 64gb Memory card….okay Sony X(
But it will be worth it :)

          • http://danierc-polloconpapas.tumblr.com/ Eduardo Rocha

Yeah :/ I would get just a 8GB but I’m sure there’ll be other games that will get digital release only so I’ll just get the 64GB already.

  • Martian Wong

Didnt expect this to come over….

  • Fitzkrieg

Welp, I like the concept of SAO, but I hate Kirito. Maybe I’ll pick this game up.

    • ShawnOtakuSomething

      I hate em too

    • DyLaN

Well he reduced into a “silent” protagonist most of the time so there that I guess.

  • Ric Vazquez

HOLY CRAP! I didn’t think a SAO game would ever be localized! Good news indeed!

  • revenent hell

Whelp…..,I cant say how much I had wanted the game….. honestly I didn’t think it would be released here…..
Now that I know its going to release I cant wait to play it

  • ishyg

Damn it, my wallet isn’t ready!

  • Serephitus

Wow I did not expect this one either. Time to cancel my asia version preorder.

  • Harvey Tejada Loto

    oh yeah victory dance

  • http://gamesero.wordpress.com/ Arla

It’s insane how many niche Vita titles are getting localized. It might not have mass appeal, but all these recent announcements have definitely sold me on a Vita. Bandai Namco’s been killing it lately

    • Ladius

Really, at this rate it seems Namco Bandai could follow Tecmo Koei and the usual niche publishers in providing lots of Vita releases. I can see God Eater 2 being localized, and a Namco spokeperson already said Innocence R could be localized provided Hearts R does well.

Vita is quickly becoming one of my most used platforms and it’s incredible how many localizations have been announced in the last months.

  • Yan Zhao

This is probably the only time I’ve ever said this….SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEYYYYY!!!!!!

  • InfinityAge11

The whole dating part is optional, right?

    • DyLaN

Unless you want to get the heroine(s) ending, I guess you can technically ignore them and probably get the default ending.

  • DanijoEX ♬ the Cosmic Owl

Well THAT one was quite unexpected.

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

Kite, welcome to SAO. I not a fan of SAO but I well be picking this up when I get ma Vita. *closes thing to dat hack MMO*

  • Callonia

I’m kinda surprised now. Maybe I should start giving a damn about what namco does these days? And PS Vita. Hrm. Its starting to look like I will have alot of games to play for it now.

  • Samsara09

A question,if I may, fellow posters: How good is this game?

    • Anewme…Again

It will only be released in 2 day in japan, so i don’t think anyone have played it yet.

      • Samsara09

well,it is not everyday a game that makes so many people post

    • DyLaN

It really is up to how much do you like the series.

  • Raltrios

I think I have more than enough reasons to get a Vita now. Tales of Hearts, this, Demon Gaze, Neptunia PP, P4G, Gravity Rush, and I think there were one or two more that slip my mind atm. That’s enough to justify buying a console for me.

    • Ladius

I suggest looking at Ys Memories of Celceta, Danganronpa, Muramasa, New Little King’s Story and Virtue’s Last Reward, too, not to mention upcoming releases like Freedom Wars, Danganronpa 2, Disgaea 4 Returns, Neptunia Rebirth and Mind Zero. Vita has been building quite a library of niche Japanese releases.

      • Raltrios

See? I knew I forgot some. Danganronpa and Disgaea were also on my list there along with Neptunia R.

  • Learii

    now where God Eater 2?

    • Renaldi Saputra

yeah, I think it will be announced soon or later

      • Learii

        I hope
btw I think they heard you say they hate Vita XD

        • Renaldi Saputra

back then I was saying that
after seeing these kind of MAGIC by Bamco
seems I gotta change my mind

  • WhyWai

    Download only? prefer hardcopy tho..

    • Learii

well atleast you get to play the game

    • revenent hell

You should just be thankful to get the game.

I have no idea why people complain so much when its a digital download. Would you prefer to not get the game at all?

Maybe its because I play a ton of niche games, but I am always thankful to get to play one I have been wanting even if its only released via Digital Download. I know I would rather have the ability to play the game rather than not at all.

Don’t get me wrong I do prefer to have a physical media, I collect games and its rather unsatisfying to not have a disc and box amongst the rest, I just prefer a physical copy rather than not but if a digital download is my sole option of getting the game I am all for it and will download it immediately.

  • Alestaos

Please be a downloadable title on the EU Vita as well. Since i have no idea how to set up a NA PSN (any help on that front would be grear for my imported games dlc)

  • leingod

That’s nice… I was gonna import the Chinese version with english text, but if it comes soon enough, I’ll wait for this one :)

    • Black Is a Status

I still might, depending on the release. If it’s not in early July, I’m def gonna get the Chinese version.

      • leingod

Yeah, I’ll decide once there’s a release date too!

  • Tenabrus

so we get the game but now I have to pay $120 canadian to get a 64gb memory card because too many games are download only in America.

meh at least we get the game…

  • http://GamerXChange.net/ G.

Namco is on a roll. Next up, God Eater 2, please! :)

    • Anthony Birken

      You read my mind!

  • xXDGFXx

As much as I’m disappointed that it’s digital only, I’ll take it.

    • http://www.ihasnowebsitez.com Satonaka CP-Four

Nah as much popularity as a title like this has, since it was bamco it was a low chance at a physical release, and if its THIS fast of a release for THIS summer then its even more likely it’s subbed only.

It’s all good tho, at least my Vita will stop collecting dust aside from the skyping and tube’ing I been (hardly) using it for lately XD

  • Prinny Dood

    Up next shinovi versus dood!

    • Renaldi Saputra

you’re on the wrong place dood!

  • sakusakusakura_nyo

I’m going to need a bigger memory card.

    • PoweredByHentai

I imported my 64 GB memory card. Totally worth it.

  • Demonspartanx20

    image 12

its now been confirmed Sword Art is in the same universe as Destiny.

  • FreeLancers

will this be dub or sub. Something tells me sub cause it’s to quick to release it with full dubbed voices.

  • SupaPhly

does this mean I can import the asian version and it will be the same thing?

  • Rinne111

    What about Europe?Any news?

  • tturtlejosh

How many Vita games coming this summer? 1,2,3… a lot
How much money on my wallet?… none

  • ffboi7

Hmm will wait on a review first. The battle system doesn’t seem to be exciting at all.

  • Godspoken

Can you pillow talk with your sister?

  • [S]unjay

Another deemed-impossible localization happens. The Vita really is a haven for JRPG fans. I can’t wait to buy this.

  • Chris Smith

I was hoping for a physical copy

  • Steverino03

I was so excited when I first heard about this. Buying a vita just for this game.
