Hopefully it does not take long, have been itching for this game since I got a 3DS.

  • RagingTiger44

Finally. Now we need an actual date.

  • Eric Harris

does it have more music from the main FFs?

  • fairysun

The game has more music than the first one and it can never go wrong with more FF music.

  • alixraen

I’ve been curious why they included Child Rydia over Adult Rydia –

    • Nice Boat Quatro

I’m curious in how you can tell it’s not adult

      • alixraen

Because of the costume? It’s pretty clear.

    • I would guess because adult Rydia is potentially spoiler-y, but that’d be the only thing I can think of.

      • 하세요

They have various final bosses as enemies. I don’t see how Adult Rydia is any more spoiler-y than Seymour, Sephiroth, or Kefka’s god mode.

Also, most of the EMS songs are the post final boss cutscenes.

        • I feel like Seymour and Sephiroth are obvious things you know early on, though Kefka is a different story (I didn’t realize his God-mode was in there though!).

          That’s odd.

          • 하세요

Dissidia alone pretty much hands out all the main antagonists in a line (with the exception of IV), so I think it’s fair to say Square Enix assumes if you’re playing any cross-over game that you played them all or know how they all end.

          • That is definitely true for Dissidia, haha. But main antags aren’t too heavy of spoilers since most are obvious from the get-go~.

  • NeptuniasBeard

Oh man! If gifs were allowed on this site, I’d be giffing SO hard right now!!!!

  • 하세요

Glad to know everyone can enjoy it now. Still gonna get the JP version (mainly because I cannot cancel the order at this point) since rhythm games don’t need understanding of text.

  • yellowmage

I think I’m gonna skip this one, unless DLC characters are announced. I’m decidedly unhappy with the FFXI roster.

    • neo_firenze

How would you NOT expect the storyline heroines? S-E has used them as the main representative characters for everything FFXI related, and it has become a tradition for each expansion story to feature a main female protagonist. The additions of Lilisette and Aphmau make perfect sense.

Unless you’re just after Lion (or Arciela from the not yet complete Adoulin storyline missions), in which case… yeah, DLC would make sense for those two.

If that’s not it, who do you want from XI?

      • yellowmage

Expect =/= like. And Shantotto isn’t the heroine of the original (non-expansion) storyline. I won’t get too deeply into my feelings about her; suffice to say they took a rather sharp turn for the sour after SE practically made her the face of the game.

Now I know they can’t exactly make a player character rep for FFXI since players design their own character (though that doesn’t seem to be a problem for Crystal Chronicles), but Shantotto doesn’t even appear in any of the national missions (well, there is one mission, but it’s rank 8 and so doesn’t really count).

Anyway, who do I want? Most of all, Zeid. Technically, he’s the closest thing to a proper core-story rep in terms of what he actually does. Plus, I’m getting pretty damn sick of my people being marginalized.

        • 하세요

You should know by now the ones that make it in this game are merely the most popular, not most relevant to a story. I played my fair share of XI and I can say the only ones I truly remember because of their personality are Shantotto and Prishe.

One Galka would’ve been nice, though.

          • yellowmage

Well, “Totes” is certainly a force of personality; I can’t count the number of times I’ve wanted to just stomp her like a goomba.

        • neo_firenze

Hush Galka, back to the mines with you. Just kidding, just kidding! ;)

I’ll always be a Mithra though, so I kinda get how you feel with not being represented. But I also am fine with the inclusion of the “safe choice” heroines. I kinda would have liked Lion and Arciela to complete the set of expansion heroines.

I’m not a big Shantotto fan either, but I get the decision to include her. She’s the most well known character of the Tarutaru race, which is super popular especially in Japan. And certainly since they already made her for the original Theatrhythm they weren’t gonna just get rid of her now.

As for Zeid, if you play the game, he (or, what he becomes) IS represented prominently in the FFXI backgrounds. You even get your theme music!

          • yellowmage

I certainly hope you aren’t referring to the Shadow Lord.

          • neo_firenze

All Galkas are the same ;)

          • yellowmage

Someone’s itching to be buried alive 10km beneath the Altepa desert.

  • artemisthemp

Nice to finally have something to play on my 3DS

  • Kaetsu

I kind of expected this but it’s nice to have an official confirmation. I just wish New Bodhum(FFXIII-2) was in this game. It’s my favourite FF song.

  • Chaos_Knight

Seeing or hearing anything related to Type-0 makes me cringe…

    SE is teasing us.

    • Farid Belkacemi

      It’s Type-0, not Type-O :p

      • Chaos_Knight

Whoops, my mistake. That was a typo. Thanks for clarifying.

  • Tenabrus

only reason I’m excited for this is because after this they might finally start work on a proper dissidia sequel

  • Thelastgunstar

Awesome. This is definitely a day one purchase for me.

  • SMT

For those worrying, the same video was uploaded at SE’s European channel :)

    • Ghoul_Aid

Oh thank god! I thought it was unlikely they wouldn’t release it here, but I’m still relieved to hear that.

…Yet for some reason your name made me break out in a cold sweat.

      • SMT

Oh wow, I didn’t even think of that connection…
        SMTIV… as a European (Well, PAL region anyway), it still hurts after all these months not to have any news about it ;_;

  • Gabi López Ramírez

For some strange reason I feel like Type-0 is around the corner as far as being announced. . .
    I can’t wait! This looks great. :)

  • Adrian Duran

I guess the 3DS gets Type-0 before the PSP does

  • konsama

Man i wonder how long it will take to be released, im really up for this game, tbh the only thing that prevented me from getting the first was no digital version. I don’t like getting physical carts and i didn’t even find the previous game anywhere. :/

  • SuperSailorV

Called it! Now the only uncertainty is whether they’ll bring over that gorgeous 3DS XL or not.

  • This looks really fun. ;u;
I was mildly interested in the first, but I really want this one.

  • Makoto Yuki

    Summer release please!

Sweet! I really enjoyed vanilla version, going to enjoy this one even more. More music from FF the merrier.

  • The amount of cuteness in this is frightening. I want this!

  • Aemette

This is the greatest thing about today. Loved the first game and I’m glad to see they aren’t going to omit anything from Type-0.

  • Hinataharem

    *victory theme*

  • KingGunblader

Definitely getting this, but still waiting for some sort of confirmation on whether or not DLC from the original is usable here, and if it needs to be purchased again.

    • 하세요

Every song that was DLC is already in the base game, from what I’ve seen.

  • Kytsora

    Got the first one.
    Gonna get this one.

  • protofox

i didnt look into the 1st game much at all or play it..but considering how i listen to the ost’s on a daily basis…i might to go get 1 just to hold me over till this comes out..heck im still playing 012 dissidia till this day since its release…might need to mix it up a bit

    • Quizler

Curtain call has all the songs and DLC from the first game, so I don’t know if that would be such a good idea. You might just end up having to play a bunch of the same songs all over again.

      • protofox

so its like dissidia 012 with the 1st dissidia’s stuff in it..then ill wait and continue to listen to my ost, didnt know that so thank :3
