To-Love Ru Vita Game Lets You Fight Both Monsters And Heroines

Unchained Blades developers FuRyu are busy with Lost Dimension, an RPGthat looks like it was inspired by Shin Megami Tensei IV. They’re also working on something quite different with the “ultra-pleasant harem game” To Love-Ru Trouble Darkness: Battle Ecstasy. The game’s official website shares more on the project.

While the game actually has a “plot” going for it, the official website details an action part where you’ll be playing as the protagonist, Rito, a regular Joe who suddenly finds himself in some sort of harem, and often landing in… unexpected situations.

While exploring dungeons, there will be a bunch of monsters to fight, including some that appeared in the anime. Rito uses “Lucky Items” to fight enemies, which all seem to have their own fighting style. You can pull off combos and fill up your meter to pull off special moves.

The items consist of close and long-ranged weapons that can be switched to go with the type of monsters you’re fighting. There’s also a “Lucky Pervert” meter called TTT (trouble touch time,) which will also have a special use.

These items consist of all kinds of wacky things, from the Octopus Knuckles, to plungers and frying pans.

As the trailer shows, you won’t only be fighting monsters, as various heroines will also be appearing to fight Rito. Certain weapons work only against heroines, while others are used against monsters.

Special challenge missions can be found in the dungeons as well, where they’ll give you objectives, such as defeat all enemies within a certain amount of time. All kinds of items can be acquired through these missions, and some of them can also be used to help enhance the… “plots” of our friendly heroines of the game.

To Love-Ru  Trouble Darkness: Battle Ecstasy is slated for release on May 22, 2014 for PlayStation Vita.

  • Yea I’m sure everyone’s buying it for said ‘plot’.

    • TheGioG

What can I say? This game knows what’s important.

    • This game is just bursting at the seams with “plot”

  • Maria Garcia

any info if the game will be ps vita tv compatible?

    • DragKudo

      maybe not

  • fairysun

One thing that I hate from To Love Ru is they make my favorite character from Black Cat to be one of the harem girl.

    • Bob Slim

Hate really its why i love to-love-ru cuz of her. all though they kind of the same Eve and yami are 2 different charcters, So you still have your eve from black cat

  • Kayseur

The only thing that makes me sad in this game is that it seems only Rito is playable. And since we’re really close to the release date now, I doubt that’ll change. A shame.

By the way, Mikan and Nemesis (yes!) have both been confirmed to appear recently.

    • TheExile285

      That is a shame.

  • Saru245

If this game by some weird wacky strange miracle gets localized then I will literally flip my table! That would be the biggest most shocking localization to date and there have been many these past 2 years.

  • Pdugna

So this game still exists, I swear if even this game gets released in the West everything is possible.

    • TheExile285

This is never coming to the West. We never even got the manga :( (Well US didn’t. I heard something about France getting it though….)

      • Foryth

Yeah, I own both the original series and Darkness in french.(18 volumes for the original, plus currently up to 7 for Darkness.) :) It’s a shame you guys never got an english manga release. The anime adaptation of the original series is so-so IMO, but I enjoyed Darkness.

Maybe I’ll import this when I get a Vita, I’ll wait and see how’s the reception after release.

      • Ecchitori-san

A man can still dream, eh?

    • Renaldi Saputra

licensing from shueisha series is kinda expensive

  • Milewide

Ah, yes. This… stop reminding me of how I actually watched this show. I feel it’s turned into a stain on my soul. Shame. Tits and shame. Mostly shame.

    • Well, if this game manage to be localized in the West, you can clean that stain by beating all of the heroines in the show with no feelings and libido.

  • TheExile285

Hmm. To import or not to import…

  • Firion Hope

You know I really liked To Love Ru all things considered. It was fun and I loved watching it. This looks kinda like that Madoka game, so I might check it out

  • Mind0105A

I’m going to get the game for the story.

  • twageek

I-…is it weird that i want this?

  • Ecchitori-san

THIS IS IT!! This is one of my favorite anime! I thought this day is a bomb with that Persona announcement. But I don’t have a Vita, as of yet. At least I’m a little happy now.

  • leingod

I was thinking if this game had any chance to get localized… then 0:20 happened. Personally, I’m totally OK with fondling schoolgirls… but I’m not sure the US rating board agrees :P

    • Renaldi Saputra

unless XSeed or Aksys do magic, but to love ru fanbase isn’t that big I guess also being a part of shueisha made the licensing expensive

  • s07195

Rito’s already literally the god of falling into weird positions, so does he even need the help of a meter?

  • RawrWata

    Jesus Christ, this is obnoxious.

  • nonscpo

This game has no chance of getting a western release, thank you high cost of licensing.
