Here’s A “Very Hard” Hidden Stage From Azure Striker Gunvolt

By Ishaan . May 10, 2014 . 9:27am

Inti Creates have shared a look at a hidden stage in Azure Striker Gunvolt via the game’s Twitter account. According to the developer, the stage is unlocked after fulfilling certain requirements, and is “very hard”. It’s currently being worked on by game planner Miyazawa.

Azure Striker Gunvolt is in development for the Nintendo 3DS and will be released via the Nintendo eShop this Summer. The game is heavily influenced by anime and manga, and you can read about director Yoshihisa Tsuda’s insights on that here.

    wait wat

    • Hinataharem

Not so hidden anymore is it? Granted, we don’t know how to get it, but still…

  • Ben Green

Looks so much like the early Megaman X games. Day 1 buy for me.

  • jinkusiraga

I have a mighty need for this game.

    • Pepe da farmer

      What you did there
      I see it

  • Hector Velar

precise jumping, perfect timing, fast paced…. just what the old good games were made out of. I think it looks similar to sonic 1 & 2 gameplay, reminds me of that casino stage not saying there is something wrong with that but the contrary I been looking for games like this for a long while. Sick of all the extremely easy look at pretty stages 3D games.

    Who else played DustForce?
that’s what this reminds me of.

  • Lifestreamer

Seems awesome! The oldschool feel is replicated very well, even though there is some of sonic into it, and the bgm is very cool too, reminds me of MM X4/X5.

    • Mar Mar

I had the same feeling too. Megaman + Sonic. Not bad combination.

      Anyway, WE WANT THIS NOW!

  • Makoto Yuki

but… but.. It supposed to be hidden!..

and it just makes me want the game more!

  • Benjamin Tyler

Looks like Mega Man ZX and Sonic had a baby.

    • Satori Satya

With a little bit of good old Metroid thrown in for good measure.

      • Chris Evan Jonance Ingeniero

        they had a threesome :3

  • Aoshi00

glad we’re still getting the braid :)…

    • Wagnaria

      Yeah. :D
Gunvolt without his braid would be like Zero without his ponytail.

      • Aoshi00

yeah, so much animation in the video would need to be cut out, glad we got the braid back :)

  • Kris

The way you can speed yourself up with electricity makes this look like Mega Gear Rising. Can’t wait!

  • NightzeroAX

Might as well make another hidden stage….

  • Thomaz Barros

To me it mostly look like the game its playing itself

    • jinkusiraga

When people play games like this well, it looks like it is.
Then you get your hands on it yourself and you realize you were completely wrong about that.

  • urbanscholar

Is it ok to say I got excited in my nether regions watching this? No? Ok I got excited in my nether regions

  • Vash bane

that…looks way to intense for me lol

  • MrSirFeatherFang

It is a hidden stage… I’m assuming the reason it looks like he’s just speeding through the stage is how these “hidden stages” work. Kind of like chasing those chests in those bonus stages in Rayman Origins.

Although, Inti-Creates Mega Man Zero games ranked you on enemies killed, speed/time and damage loss/HP. Maybe they were just speed running the stage?

Besides that, cool to see some gameplay. I have a $50 eShop card that’s been unused for a while. My friend tells me to get Senran Kagura… even I would’ve expected myself to buy that by now, but I think I’ll wait and grab this first.

  • dante

Dang I he could have been a megaman .cant wait till hes in a fighting game

  • Looks like a sonic more than a megaman game I see almost no combat in any of the vids, just running through the map. The little combat is him coming to a complete stop to shock everything on the screen. boring. I was looking forward to it too…

this looks like a whole silly buncha junk. but i want it. the only thing that makes me sad is it’s being heavily influenced by anime and manga. i’d prefer notable games from the past as an influence, but i know they mean in terms of story and that makes me feel even more blech

    Can’t wait for this!
