Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds For Vita Heading To The West

By Spencer . May 19, 2014 . 12:42am

Mages released Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds worldwide on Xbox 360, but so far the PlayStation Vita version is only available in Japan. It looks like there are plans to release the beat ’em up overseas since the PlayStation Vita version was rated by Germany’s USK.

No word on a release date, but since the game has been localized hopefully it won’t be too long. Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds for Vita came out this past March in Japan.

good news indeed. But on the japanese version no one plays online….I hope i can play with western users with my japanese game

    • Christopher C

Maybe, in japan there are SO many other moe girls in games and shit to compete with. That’d probably be why.

  • Tarkovsky

Shame there probably won’t be a physical version. Was hoping the Japanese limited edition would contain a card but oh well. Still great news for fans waiting for this to be localized.

  • sunK1D

Whatever happened to the PS4 version?

    • Wappuli

      Nothing really.

      • NeoStrayCat

Its still in the works, though nothing has been announced for it yet.

  • leingod

I would’ve prefered the actual fighting game, but hey.

    • I have no idea what happened to 7Sixty, but I have a feeling we need a new publisher for it.

  • Prinny Dood

Hell ywah dood! I was just watching a video on youtube abou this game. Then i checked goggle and viola dood! Its coming to the netherworld. I love my vita *sniff*

    • God

The netherworld is in the west? That explains a lot…

      • Darkwing7

Explains a lot when God is willing to talk to a lowly Prinny xD

        • God

Dude, he maybe an universal plaything, but he is still one of my favourite creations, i mean, it’s a freaking flying exploding demon penguin!

  • SirRichard

I’d like to play it again on Vita, it was a fun little game. With the work all already done, shouldn’t be too hard of a port.

  • xanxux

Hmm.. looks like a fun little game

  • Sentsuizan_93

Unexpected news. But very much welcomed nonetheless~

  • Land of Green Pasture

    I’m happy… I think…

    • nonscpo

Yeah same here be happy, cause it might come.

  • Kornelious

Sweet. Hopefully we get a physical release like Arcana Hearts 3 (Still surprised about that) But I heard this game is pretty fun so either way I’m PUMPED! :P

    • NeoStrayCat

Yeah, but from what I’ve read, the JP “Retail” LE, if you can call it that, had a case and all (and stuff), but inside was just a DL code in there, so yeah, I don’t think we’ll get it retail, but digital like before.

      • Kornelious

Oh so it was like Drakengard 3 in Europe……I guess it would be to much to hope for a limited edition here huh :(

        • NeoStrayCat

Yeah, it was too good to be true. >_> (There wasn’t even a physical cart, so yeah, a shame.)

  • Roll Caskett

Does this game have partner Ai ? It rare to see a beat-em up game where you have a partner Ai to fight alongside you. Street Of Rage Remake is the only game that have these feature.

    • d19xx

Final Fight 3 also has it. Though kinda shitty.

    • Kayseur

I think there’s Dragon’s Crown as well. But regarding this one, no it doesn’t have this feature.

  • The Watcher

100% this game on 360, very fun game and has ton a replayability, That maze stage will test your endurance but other than that A+

    • NeoStrayCat

Same here, both in Achs, and in the game itself too, takes a while to max out everyone, but its worth it.

  • fairysun

Need another beat’em up on PS3 for this year.
Last year was a blast with that genre!

  • Eejhat Wahs

This is great and all, but where is the fighting game Phantom Breaker coming here? It’s been two years now right like WTF?

    • NeoStrayCat

Yeah, that’s what I’m thinking, I dunno what’s still going on with it. >_>

      • Eejhat Wahs

Yeah at this point I’d rather just have Phantom Breaker Extra

  • Solomon_Kano

  • Hagaren

    PSN or Steam release, please?

  • Nu Blitz

I hope Kurisu is a preorder bonus she’s super fun to play with

  • Smiech

This… actually looks pretty fun. I’ll look into it once it comes out. But how about localizing that port of Steins;Gate on the vita too? Good visual novels (or visual novels in general, for that matter) like Steins;Gate are perfect on the vita! Heck, Kurisu is in this friggin’ game.
