Bullet Girls Shows More Guns, Panties, And Bouncy Battlefield Action

By Sato . May 20, 2014 . 2:43am

D3 Publisher and Assault Gunners developers Shade are working on a high school girl action game, Bullet Girls, that looks like the lovechild of Senran Kagura and Call of Duty. Famitsu shows us how the girls will be fighting in the girls-only shooter.

As previously reported, the high school girls in Bullet Girls are part of the Ranger Corps, where they’ll be learning about necessary military tactics and actions. The missions will consist of two characters that are in the “Attacker” or “Supporter” categories.

The Attackers are the ones who are controlled by the characters and fight in the frontline. Meanwhile, the Supporters help out by providing strategic hints and other ways to help.

The weapons used in the mock battles consist of handguns, rifles, bazookas, shotguns, and grenades. It might seem a bit dangerous for the young girls, but no worries, they’re filled with blank bullets that are probably only good for tearing off clothing.

Characters can hold up to four different weapons, which you can exchange between missions.

You might encounter various vehicles such as tanks, armored vehicles, and choppers during the missions. These vehicles can do quite the damage, so they’ll require a different approach than your average opponents in the battlefield.

Dodge-rolling and taking cover is an important part of survival against other soldiers and vehicles. While this is a crucial part of survival in any other shooter, you can probably see the other… benefits, for yourself.

The above is a look at some of the maps there are in Bullet Girls, ranging from school yards to desert areas.

As previously reported, the game features up to 39 different sequences of clothes that tear off when characters take damage. Here’s a close look at what you can expect to see in the battlefield:

If you’re wondering about the undergarments of these girls, there’s an impressive collection of them in the game, with enough to make combinations of 1,600 different patterns with bras and panties:

And of course it wouldn’t be a Senra- er Bullet Girls without a groping feature. This is a special training that is just for teaching the girls how to resist against enemy interrogations, nothing else!

At least it’s better than Moero Chronicle.

          • KnifeAndFork

Wow really? Have we really fallen that far?

        • Kaien

I buyed Skyrim for the view and I’d but this for the same reason.

          • ishyg

Soul Calibur I think offers a better view.

Don’t like hot schoolgirls with guns? What’s the matter with you? Lol

      • Nettacki

Hey, some people aren’t into that sort of thing. Doesn’t mean they’re weird or wrong.

        • Eejhat Wahs

          Yeah…. They’re weird and wrong

            You’re weird and wrong.

  • Atwa

    Concept is hilarious.

  • Shippoyasha

This is like the Stella Women’s Academy C3 game we never got. Great to see so many animations there. That was one thing Senran Kagura was really behind on, with so few clothes destruction animation. This has real potential as an erotica game.

  • John Hayabusa

Is this Senran Kagura meets Upotte? Would love to have this game.

  • Trinity

…do they ever make these kinds of games with girls in mind, or just guys?

    …just asking.

    • Sato

Oh, I’m sure they have plenty of girls in mind.

      … just saying :P

    • 永次

In Japan, girls love these games with cute girls and things like this. While in west the people see as sexist, they see this like cute things.
      Is not only for guys.

      • Haganeren

Errr, no… SOME girls can potentially love this kind of game you’re right but only on the otaku sphere (which are more badly considered than in Occident to begin with) and most girls in those sphere prefer having hot boy or boyXboy action.

So no, they don’t really have girls in mind when designing this game.

It’s like saying some girls enjoy playing God of War… Of course there is some ! But the designers don’t really have them in mind.

        • 永次

          Errr, yes.

        • Shippoyasha

I think the thing really is that nudity action and comedy can be enjoyed by a broader demographic in Japan. Even some fujoshi content has male fanbase too. And that’s not even getting into homosexual players too.

Definitely aiming to male fans for sure. But I can see it appealing to people who like erotic comedy or the cute girl designs.

          • Haganeren

Yeah, but even if some male enjoy fumoshi, it’s aimed with girls in mind too.

If you prefer, they don’t try to attract the guy when making fumoshi content because if guys are attracted by the content “as it is”, they don’t need to makes any change. So they only think about girls and if male are interested too, “that’s cool”.

It’s a little like when Square Enix was surprised Bravely Default worked so well in Europe and USA because they “only had Japanese in mind when they made the games”…. It doesn’t means Western market can’t enjoy it, it just mean they don’t need to aim to western market for them to enjoy the product.

On another note, I think there is a certain difference between nudity and fan service. Ranma 1/2 had some nudity for comedic purpose but i don’t think we are on this level with this game…

          • KnifeAndFork

Square Enix PR was just being dumb

      • KnifeAndFork

Japan has less feminism movement and male white knighting hipsters as that country still has some slight leftovers of male dominated oppressed society

    • Eejhat Wahs

Yeah because male versions of these games would sell.

Girls like these games because of the girls looks and personalities, and guys also like them for those reasons as well as for the fact that they are hot.

Make the game interesting and fun and it’ll sell very well

      >do they ever make these kinds of games with girls in mind, or just guys?

of course they have girls in their minds. the JAV girls

  • Sangaz

    Love it!

  • Basically, Senran Kagura in a different concept, world. …I like it!

  • D3’s publishing this? Ouch, sucks for the fans of the game. They’ll probably leave 40% untranslated and locked off within the disk, not to mention never bothering to update the game. White Knight fans know of what I speak.

    • sunK1D

40% untranslated? No localization has been announced yet…

  • Yay more news on Bullets & Boobs =)
(Yes that’s my nickname for this game) lol

    • leingod

      Call of Booby?

      • Land of Green Pasture

        sounds like a trap..

        • leingod

          Let’s ask the admiral!

    • darke

I’m actually kinda surprised; I would have thought what with Dungeons & Dragons out there for years, that someone would have made a Bullets & Boobs pen-and-paper RPG… but apparently not. :(

Slightly disappointed at the lack of creativity honestly. :P

  • Just thought best thing ever would be if its turn based like valkria Chronicles

Most likely gonna order this probably now =P

  • leingod

Simply brilliant. The Vita is turning up to be a great system for pervs! :P

Also, I’m shocked this isn’t part of the Senran Kagura series… it looks just like their stuff.

Let’s hope Shinovi Versus does well so we can ask XSEED to bring this over XD

    • ishyg

Shush, my wife shouldn’t know about this.

      • leingod

        Don’t worry… it won’t leave the internet :X

        • majestix1988

…if gets popular…i would think and HD version like Akiba Trip for Ps3/Ps4

        • ishyg

          Yeah, pretty much.

Seriously speaking though I want this game. I’ll just keep it stored inside them…uhh…folder bubbles.

  • John Diamond

I’m sick of this highschool girl trope going on here.
It’s almost like they don’t try with the setting at times.

    • Eejhat Wahs

As long as it has a great storyline, fun gameplay, and interesting characters then there is nothing wrong with fanservice

      • John Diamond

no, it’s not the fan service. it’s the highschool setting i’m sick of

        • KoRLumen

Really? Personally, I’m sick of the generic marine/soldier/buzzcut manly man trope. This game looks great.

          • John Diamond

And i didn’t condone that trope either. but even if i did it still doesn’t disprove the lack of originality in this.

Does it really take that much effort to take them out of a high school setting? I just think they’re too lazy to think of ways to put some fanservice in, and just settled for lazy panty shots

          • darke

The high school setting is because it’s something instantly relatable to everyone in Japan due to the structured, one-size-fits-all education system where it’s all relatively the same across the country. Whereas, even assuming people went to university, they’re all a little different in how things work, and what people do.

Basically it’s a lowest-common-denominator thing so you can sell it to everyone. Just like a ‘fantasy’ setting with elves and dwarves where you ‘know’ how they work (unlike sci-fi where everything is different), or WW2/modern ‘guns and soldiers’ setting in western games for the same reason.

          • John Diamond

Yes, I’m 100% aware that it’s the lowest common denominator, that people can relate to schoolgirls in the same respect people here can understand bald space marine #4.

However, as i mentioned in some other comment, i do not even agree with either of them. It’s not really that hard to at least change the setting up. Hell, they’re all playing with guns, why can’t they at least go to a military school, which DOESNT wear the same old short impractical skirt, cardigan kneesocks combo

          • KnifeAndFork

I dunno how anyone can relate to a roid raged bald space marine or a saucer eyed bubbly Moeblob school girl with the IQ of a carrot

          • KoRLumen

            Because moe moe kyuuuuuun ~

          • KnifeAndFork

That trope doesn’t exist in Japan so how could you be sick of it…

          • KoRLumen

I never said it was a Japanese trope. Don’t go putting words in my mouth.

          • KnifeAndFork

Well your comment made no sense because you’re forcing a comparison of two different region types and cultures. There’s no forced fanservice in western FPS

          • KoRLumen

It’s a different type of fanservice for those people obsessed with “realistic”, “dark”, and “gritty” things. Anyway, my point was that blending the “high school girl” trope with this type of military setting is breaking the mould. The only other examples I can think of are Upotte and maybe Kantai Collection. It’s refreshing in a way that doesn’t tire out the so called trope.

          • KnifeAndFork

Except in the West that’s not fanservice. Fanservice is detracting from the source. If the the source is war and guns and it’s trying to replicate the realism of such events….that’s not fanservice; that’s emulation.

This just comes off as a shallow fanservice gimmick. Not unique as I’ve seen it before and we have that Girls in Panzer game as well as Moe Moe whatever WWII game, Gunslinger Girl for PS2, that Anime game with military school girls with jet packs on their feet, and romance of the three kingdoms game with moeblobs

    • nonscpo

Kinda agree, I wish we moved on to college chicks; oh well I suppose we could always kickstart it.

      • John Diamond

It’s actually the thing which puts me off most anime. I can understand little kids, like 10 year olds being main characters, so that the little kids watching it can relate to em.

but hell, these people can work in a company, be normal girls, be older, be scientists, maids whatever rocks their boats

        • KnifeAndFork

          Not moe enough

          • John Diamond

you can make anything cute if you try hard enough

          • KnifeAndFork

            Not generic cliche trope enough

  • Aristides

Japan has finally figured out how to take over the west. Give it your best shot NISA XP!

  • fairysun

Lady, you wear your vest backward, that part should be on the front.
Oh wait, that’s not a vest, is it?

  • Kotori Itsuka

  • dknighti

Boob groping? You need not say anymore, just take my money!

  • Audie Bakerson

It’s a lot less impressive sounding when you just say “around 40 each”.

  • ZetaSiren

    Well this game is awesome

  • Skeptika Crediblus

    Oh yeah….

  • fyi1191

    8 playable characters + 1 ?
And there’s still no gameplay footages?

  • Odin

Ah, for the gun nuts, this is nice. The “girls with guns” genre is a bit under-represented. Between that and “nuns with guns”, lol, it’s one of those tropes that one has to love.

By the way, I’m assuming the handgun is a SIG Pro (or variants thereof).

  • Astrotrain

Like the girls, don’t like the guns.

  • sakusakusakura_nyo

I wanted Valkyria Chronicles 3 localized but I’ll settle for this.

  • NeptuniasBeard

I guess the flaw in building the girls’ mental fortitude against molestation by umm, molesting them, is that once the enemy finds out that won’t work, they will just go back to good old fashion Jack Bauer torturing. The kind you didn’t prepare them for, because you were too busy molesting them!

    • darke

That sort of torture simulator is only present in western games. (GTAV wasn’t it? I’m pretty sure there’s been a CoD-clone where you torture people as well.) Thankfully Japanese developers spare us from that level of gore. :P

      • comixsonic

Hah, the creepiest, most over the top torture in a video game has to be Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes for sure, which I might add is a Japanese game, so…

        • darke

Fair enough. I’ve never played Metal Gear, it never looked interesting; now I know it’s terrible and non-interesting. :P

          • Oldenheimer1913

What do you mean terrible and non-interesting? Just because there’s torture scenes? What a hell of a bias.

          • darke

Umm… because I find it terrible and non-interesting? I don’t want to watch stupid amounts of cut scenes, especially not pre-rendered, I’m here to play a game; the plot is ridiculous yet wants to be treated seriously; and I don’t find the gameplay inspiring enough to overcome these problems.

Besides, what part of “Thankfully Japanese developers spare us from that level of gore.” did you not understand? Did you even bother to read my comment before reflexively bitching?

  • Red Antares

Need to buy a Vita. :P

  • Sergio Macellaro

    Pure japanese trash!
It Will sell well…And have animê next year.

    • katzedan

      we all hope so! :3

    • Thatguy

It’s still better, than Pure western trash! That will sell well… And have sequel next year.

      • KnifeAndFork

        2 wrongs don’t make a right

    • KnifeAndFork

If CoD is American trash, then Moeblob fanservice stuff like this is the Japanese equivalent

  • Heath Bunch

This sort of reminds me of Gal Gun, but not on rails.

  • Theofratus ‘Geese’ Lester

Last time I played something like this was Gunslinger Girl for the Japanese PlayStation 2., but with no ecchi-ness.

  • Max Eisenhardt

    Call of Duty: Moe Warfare

  • Kroz

why do i feel there was a call of duty mod similar to this…

  • PreyMantis

I have a feeling these fanservice games will boom for the Japanese video game industry if the major video game companies see the trend as a potential market. It’s a stretch, but it’s not impossible considering the modern anime today are mostly fanservice moe anime.

    • nonscpo

Sadly Japan’s going through some tough times, if whoring out their media keeps developers, animators, and manga artist fed and gives them a roof over their heads then I’m cool with it.

      • PreyMantis

I’m not against it, but what Keiji Inafune said about the Japanese gaming industry in a tragic state is looking more and more obvious.

    • TalesOtaku21

They literally have completely run out of ideas on how to sell the damn Vita.

      • darke

Companies are simply making the games that are selling.

If people didn’t want these, they wouldn’t continue to make them.

it’s what results in yet-more-CoD-alikes on the home consoles, and yet-another-FPS on the xbox.

Between otaku games and hunter games, and remakes of console otaku games (Atelier, Neptune, etc), is there anything else selling well on the Vita?

        • KnifeAndFork

How can something sell good or bad if it doesn’t exist?

    Gears of Moe.

  • Dystopiq

And the Vita will be polluted with more fanservice games.

    • nonscpo

What’s wrong with fan-service, besides these days as vita owners we got to take what’s available; otherwise well end up like the Wii U owners. No fanboy nonesence intended.

      • TalesOtaku21

Well, besides the fact that it’s weird, it is very sad that a powerful, impressive system like the Vita is being plagued by poorly developed cop-out games that literally sell nothing but sexual attraction to non-existent preteens.

You are what you eat. And play. And have playable.

        • nonscpo

I’m not sure if what you wrote was meant to insult me, however I’ll have you know sexual themes are a part of video games you can read about them in the ratings. If you want to complain about Fan-service in video games then take your complaint to the major console/handheld manufacturers who continue to refuse to allow AO rated games (18+) on their systems. As long as developers hands are tied they’ll continue to shove erotic content where it wouldn’t otherwise go.

P.S. I do however agree that it is a shame that the Vita isn’t living up to its full potential.

      • KnifeAndFork

That take what we get thrown at us mentality is just depressing. vita deserves better

The first bullet girls i can remember

    • KnifeAndFork

      What about Gunsmith Cats?

    • Asuna Ilano

I remember this. The story was great and it doesn’t need to have ecchi stuffs just to make it interesting. This anime was plain awesome.

  • ztype

    Oh my Waifu

  • Kornelious

This has to be the most bizarre combination yet….That I am happy is happening :D I never liked call of Duty, never will, though I like some first person shooters and Senran Kagura so this sounds pretty awesome.
I just hope that because it’s “Like Call of Duty” is enough to push for a localization…Come on XSeed!….or NISA….or anyone XD

  • Loli Summoner

Is this game made by the same people that made “Senran kagura versus?”

  • sangokas kakarotas

It would be awesome if they added competitive multiplayer, just to poke fun at cod or bf.

  • Smoke Cat

This looks great, I’ll be getting this fo sho

  • jchill

i would be more interested in this game if it didnt feature high school girls

    • WhyWai

I have the same thought when reading this. It would be more interesting with more variety characters rather than all school girls with school uniform.

  • Ric Vazquez

    Such plot. Much fanservice

  • Axel Villar

    Japan saving gaming again.

    • KnifeAndFork

      Such meme

  • Sergio Macellaro

Well to It i can admit:
This game have a waaaaayyyyyy better físic than CoD…

  • Rinkawa Erion

I hope this game is English friendly…

  • I would seriously buy this game if it was truly a “100% COD rip-off with anime girls and in-game interrogation/resist torture aspects” as shown here.

COD fails but I would buy this in a heartbeat if it ever came stateside XD

  • That really is “fanservice”. That’s borderline hentai!

I don’t really care for the sexy stuff. But I’d really love to see someone make something like a Call of Duty game with all cute female characters. I don’t like first person shooters or really violent games, but I feel like they would appeal to me a lot more if they weren’t all guys. I’ve considered playing a few games just for the anime mods.

Well, I don’t want to see them get hurt or killed either. I guess first person shooters aren’t for me.

    • Snowskeeper

Call of Duty: Ghosts has female multiplayer characters.
