Monster Monpiece Delayed In Europe By A Week

By Ishaan . May 20, 2014 . 11:01am

Monster Monpiece has been delayed by a few days in Europe, Idea Factory announced this morning. The game was originally planned for release on May 28th, but will now be released in Europe on June 4th.

This change was made in order to allow the game to be made available in Germany, Russia, and Switzerland, where it was originally going to be unavailable.

The game’s U.S. release date of May 27th remains unchanged.

Well, 1 week is bearable, especially if it allows more eurobros to play.
Moreover, it’s nothing compared to the YEARS of delay for every Atlus game. IF doesn’t even have an euro division but manage better on their first game than Atlus on their entire career.

  • Glenn De Boer

    Seems fair enough.

  • rurifan

    Is it censored in Europe?

    • I’m gonjna ssume so as its been rated Pegi 12

  • Eiennai

Come on guys, first game of this category reaching the West and the first thing we do is to sink it before it gets here!? I know censorship is the worst but if we support Idea Factory in this, I’m sure Moero Chronicle will arrive uncut.

Look into the future, if more games like this are successful other companies will follow suit and maybe the cultural gap between the United States and Japan will be shorter, which means more niche games for us.

    • Audie Bakerson

Exactly. More games will follow suit. We can’t let that happen.

    • Eric Harris

I can dig this sentiment. I personally think the game looks like a fun little diversion. Nothing special, but not bad either. I also understand that by supporting the 3DS sengen kagura it helped Xseed to bring out Shinovi Versus, and a physical edition too! It’s just that, I’m not sure I want to be one of those people to pay the $30 for a digital product.

      • Np for me ~
I prefer Digi over Phisic anyway ~

      • Anesia Hunter

        atleast it’s not $50 – $70…

    • Thad McMichael

You have an extremely naiive way of looking at this.

First of all, it’s not going to arrive uncut. That ship has sailed a long time ago, just check out the Disclaimer on their website for their official statement on this. They’ve publicly said they will not back out.

Niche games are already coming over, and is being done by other companies. The Vita seems to be a great place for these types of games, which is why XSEED, Atlus, Aksys, TK and NISA release so many games for the system. Other companies doesn’t have to “follow suit” because they already are.

And to take that, “follow suit”, the only thing I get from that is if MonMon is a success despite being censored, how will that help censorship? If other companies follow suit then more games will be censored, because clearly it’s not a big issue to the core fanbase. Which it should be.

Just check out Tom’s post on the XSEED forum for more detail on how localization companies actually talk among themselves about following suit and deciding on censorship or other touchy subjects.

You can check it out here:

That can happen too, but that will be like shooting themselves in the foot twice, about the uncut part I was talking about Moero Chronicle (I typed Monster Monpiece, my bad).

    • Cheeky

Because this has worked so well in the past right? NISA censored MS and then they begged people in a stream to buy it because nobody wanted it. Afterwards, they still brought over MSZ and again it was censored.

There is no reason for them to not censor other titles if they find out the title will sell anyway. That is just not how the market works.

I never had interest in this game but censoring it seems so contradictory to the audience this game was meant for. It would be like HBO censoring Game of Thrones to appeal to a more family based audience.

    • TheEndlessSlaughter

You do know you’re essentially saying to support them in spitting in the face of their target demographic and treating people in the west like they’re overly sensitive babies, right?

      • Eiennai

I know, they are spitting in my face too, but let’s give them mercy this time, if they bring Moero Chronicle censured then it will be fair game to go for their blood.

  • I was looking forward to it =[ well at least its only a week

and its after my Account paper =P

  • Kornelious

Need to pick this up when i get the chance. I know its a card game but does anyone know what the story is like?

    • Letrico

Probably something like save the world from the evil by gathering more girls to fight for you.

    • DesmaX

I guess you challenge the god of destruction to a card battle at the end

    • DyLaN

      Frm the main site:

God’s hammer struck twice, punishing the world of Yafaniel below…

In the world of Yafaniel, humans and an unusual species called “monster girls” coexist.

May Esperio, an Academy student from Kunaguva, is training hard to become a “master” of monster girls with her best friends, Elza and Karen.

However, after an encounter with a mysterious stranger, Elza became “Lost”—a term used for victims of a strange affliction that plagues humans and monster girls alike.

Elza and the monster girls in her service have begun stealing the Magus Quartzes that are held in each of Yafaniel’s major cities.

May decides to travel the world pursuing Elza in an attempt to cure her. However, May knows that if she fails to save Elza, the whole world may be destroyed!

The censorship has pretty much perma-soured this whole game for me, but one week isn’t too bad for those interested. It could be worse, it could be any Atlus game ever.

  • Glad they are delaying it for release over Germany and other country’s, kinda start thinking moving to Germany had been a bad move, but at least I get to play it, so 1 week is not life-threatening, bring it! =3

  • r0gamer940

so how much will this game cost?

    • DingLayGorFe

      30 usd

  • Alestaos

I do dislike its digital but whatever lol. I live in EU its no big deal the delay of a week and im happy its coming. My question is how big is this dl..i have a 4GB card and some of it is taken up by physical games stuff. Just need to know the dl size cause atm i cant afford a overpriced sony vita card
