Temco Koei is giving their hunting game Toukiden: The Age of Demons an upgraded "G" version called Toukiden Extreme. The PlayStation Vita and PSP game adds new monsters for players to fight. Here’s a look at them.

I’m seriously getting annoyed with this trend.

    • Hexodious

I also think this new “Monster Hunter” trend is getting unoriginal.

      • Attribule

Heaven forbid the consumers have more than one Hunter franchise to choose from. Even some of the guys at Capcom have said they’d like to see more Hunter-like games out there as it helps the genre as a whole to establish itself as more of a norm. As a consumer it sucks to love a certain genre but your selections are slim. Take the monster collecting/battling genre for example: I love this genre but my only options are really just Pokemon…. I’m tired of Pokemon. The genre needs more variety.

Also, this “G” trend seemingly works in Japan so I don’t personally see the problem. The only potential issue is when it comes to the west as western consumers are less likely to buy the original product if they know an enhanced version will be released. That’s why I’m glad Capcom decided to skip straight to MH4U for the west instead of releasing 4 then 4U some time later. It’s a smart move on their part.

  • Anewme…Again

I’m not impressed at all with those new bosses.
Orabi look like a new skin of Pyroteryx and Imihayahi look a lot like Windshredder with an extra tail.

  • Juan Manuel M. Su├írez

Those aren’t new Onis, just reskin of older models. Vanilla Toukiden featured 11 Onis [not counting reskins], I really hope Toukiden Extreme adds actual new models and not just reskin that count as new~.

thanx to Team Ninja…when I see the word extreme I expect oppai girls (somewhat playing beach volleyball)…Well I better see a boss or two in
bikinis playing some freaking Butt Battle. I think Imihayahi would win….

  • Furu Chi

What they mean by “more” is by changing the color pallete and well ugh.. thats it. We’ll probably see a rainbow Manhunter

  • Thelastgunstar

I wonder if there is any lore behind the Imihayahi. It looks like a very….very cheesed off Tenko. Guess they got fed up with fetching items all day.

  • Tincho Kudos

You typed “Temco” instead of “Tecmo”.
Anyway, I’m glad I didn’t buy Toukiden, I shall wait till this enhaced version comes out :D

  • Kornelious

So we get to see two new monsters, One being seen already and the other being a re-skined version of a previous monster……Well, I guess we’ll have to see where this goes. I still have high hopes for the game….

  • fairysun

Maybe I should wait until they release Toukiden Ultimate. That seems to be the last version of any Tecmo-Koei game.

  • Namuro

My head was suddenly filled with that song by Ozone, when I saw the name “Imihayahi”…

  • I skip the first one, but of they localize this I might get it

  • Skeptika Crediblus

I thought we were beyond the era where everything had to be called Extreme!

  • zaidandzhadow

    plesa make it for ‘muricaaa

  • MisterHoot

C’mon Tecmo, impress me more than that. A reskin and one that isn’t really that original isn’t gonna make me jump on the EXTREEEEME train just yet. Especially after Delta who blew it away in terms of additional content for it’s “G” version.

I know you have it in ya, you scamp
