By Ishaan . May 30, 2014 . 12:00pm

The Prince of Tennis II is getting a Nintendo 3DS romance adventure game, the July issue of Japan’s Jump Square magazine reports. (Thanks, Anime News Network)

Details on the game are scarce, but the magazine encourages fans to “aim for the top of the rankings” and decide their fate in the game.

The game is titled The Prince of Tennis II: Go to the Top. It’s being developed by FuRyu and will be released on November 6th in Japan.

Are there any Prince of Tennis games about playing tennis? It seems like they’re all romance games.

Most of them are dating sims, but yes, a few are about actually playing tennis. :V

The DS ones is actually a really great Tennis game there. Even though u will need to import them though.^_^

Huh, I never knew there were romance games about Prince of Tennis. Are they like dating sims where the player develops a relationship with each guy or something?

Still, kind of surprised. I’m used to animes getting adapted from dating sims and the like, not the other way around xD

    • Shippoyasha

There is none of that in the official manga and anime material. But the shipping was so pervasive in the fan content, a romance game was bound to happen eventually.

    >Sports anime >Romance game

Huh. Makes me wonder if it’s a boy’s love game or if you’d just play as a nameable new character. (I dunno anything about this series but I guess it’s one of those sports anime where a chunk of the fanbase cares more about the bromance than the sport?)

This is why I can’t take this Shounen Anime and it’s games seriously anymore. They used to have really good legit games like PS2 Smash Hit series and the two early NDS games which were really well made. They really shoulda localized those games…

Then they went from Shounen competitive tennis games to shallow fanservicey Otome dating sim overnight and milked it to hell. Tennis being an afterthought…thanks to fujoshi…

I have the same feeling towards Yugioh but that’s more on the blame of the author for isolating his story to just card game crossover cash ins; but at least those manage to get localized as they are still legit games that can be played competitively…

You know what’d be a cool Prince of Tennis game? A tennis game.
