Ar noSurge Headed To PS Vita As Ar noSurge Plus

By Ishaan . June 23, 2014 . 11:15am

Gust are porting Ar noSurge, the follow-up to Ciel noSurge, to PlayStation Vita, this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine reports. The Vita version will be titled Ar noSurge Plus, retaining the naming convention from Gust’s Atelier ports. (Thanks, Hokanko)

As per usual, Ar noSurge Plus will include new costumes, compatibility with the Vita’s touch screen and additional purification ceremony characters.

Also coming to the Vita is an offline version of Ciel noSurge, says Famitsu. This version of the game has reportedly been reprogrammed from scratch.

Both Ar noSurge Plus and Ciel noSurge Offline will be released on October 2nd in Japan.

  • Makes you wonder if this will be more viable for the States and beyond now that it’s on the Vita…

    • Duo Maxwell

Screw the States. Side with EU now. We have better chance to get this game in English there.

      • I did say ‘and beyond’ did I not?

        • Milewide

He probably thought you referred to space.

          Understandable. :)

    • Giordan

Tecmo Koei has shown the Vita a lot of love, so it’s possible.

  • Duo Maxwell

Aw yiss! Tecmo’s love for Vita is unbeatable. Also, please spread this if you interest in the localization of those games.

  • I hope this might be why we haven’t heard anything from Tecmo-Koei about a localization.

    • Giordan

most likely. At least Tecmo Koei shows a lot of love for the Vita.

  • Razzlero

A new version of ciel no surge rekindles hope that it might actually be localised.
Though I have no doubt that ar no surge will be localised sooner or later (hopefully sooner)

  • Anesia Hunter

i’m happy to see this come to ps vita since i actually got kid of sad when it went to ps3.

  • Liamv2

Please localize please. I will happily break all my gaming rules and pre order the special edition for these games alone.

    • Malon

      your reaction: it’s digital only

      • Jimmy Bump

If it ends up being digital only I’ll just say “well I knew this was going to happen. Alright we are going to hold the CEO of (whoever is localizing it) hostage”

  • Aldorr

Maybe this time it will get an american release

    • I hope so =)

      • Kornelious

I do indeed also hope for a localization as well indeed :P

  • Kornelious

My heart almost stopped when I read this title out of excitement for a western release…….But while dissapointed, this just means we now have TWO oppurtunites to get this game >:)

  • Callonia

“Also coming to the Vita is an offline version of Ciel noSurge, says Famitsu. This version of the game has reportedly been reprogrammed from scratch.” SPAM TK WITH LOCALIZATION REQUESTS NAO

    • Renaldi Saputra

don’t worry, TK is open minded unlike some other big developer companies

      • Callonia

I still worry anyways until its confirmed, and when it does then I run out and buy PS Vita like a madmen possessed.

        • Renaldi Saputra

Tecmo KOEI isn’t like Bamco or SEGA or Capcom or Square Enix or Konami

          they hear their fans really

      • ishyg

Like Squeenix, who does what the fans requested, albeit in a different manner?

        • Renaldi Saputra

nah, square enix is the opposite of Tecmo KOEI

  • Revyatheworldeater .

My heart skips a beat every time I see an article about a Gust Corporation video game. Particularly between 3-6 months after the Japanese release as that has been the general timeframe when we get localization announcements.

  • Yan Zhao

Since we didnt even get the PS3 version yet, hope they release the Vita version or something, since it has more content.

  • Bob Slim

I hope these games get localize make it happen TK

  • Jugiatsu

You all really need to @tecmokoeieurope and @tecmokoeius with localization requests for this one. The European branch already posted a tweet about it keep hitting em up.

  • Teh Blasterz

I hope they localize the PS3 version of Ar as well, would prefer to play it on mah big screens (assuming they localize it)

    • Revyatheworldeater .

Me too, but less for the big screen and more for my surround sound. The music in these games is phenomenal.

  • I really want this to come to the UK preferably Vita

  • Pretty sweet! Been wondering if this would get a Vita port since the PS3 original, Ar noSurge sort of just came and went with nearly a whisper on Media-Create. My thoughts that it was a commercial failure are sort of put to rest with this news, and thus localization news might be around the corner!

Also interested in this offline Ciel noSurge. What was online in the previous version? Maybe they can localize this too!

  • Keksus

Getting really tired of games getting an enhanced version on the Vita all the time. At least the new stuff in Ar No Surge doesn’t seem to be important at all.

Would like to see a PS3 port of Ciel No Surge Offline though.

  • artemisthemp

Hopefully means the West finally will see Ciel noSurge

  • Kai2591

    Ciel Nosurge offline version!
    lol perhaps :)

  • Chido55

    Please, please
    I want these, for real…

    It is really hurting to have them OSTs and Geometric while not having the game ;_;

  • Jesse
  • Aristides

I will fork over anything for a localization of this Vita port =D
