The CPU Sisters Get In On Ultra Dimension Action Neptunia U

By Sato . June 25, 2014 . 1:46am

The Gamindustri CPUs have been getting plenty of attention lately, namely Neptune, with recent news on Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory II, but Compile Heart haven’t forgotten about their sisters either, as they join in on Ultra Dimension Action Neptunia U.

This week’s issue of Dengeki PlayStation reports that the four sisters of the Goddesses in Nepgear, Uni, Rom, and Ram will be part of the action in the upcoming game.

Additionally, they also shared a little info on the new Costume Break system that lets the characters become stronger by getting their clothes destroyed. Vert might look vulnerable in the above images, but there’s no telling how powerful she actually is in that form.

Finally, there’s another look at Dengekiko, a playable character based on the magazine. She’s a journalist who is described as honest and has a casual way of writing news reports. You can check out more on her and Famitsu’s character in their character introduction video.

Ultra Dimension Action Neptunia U will be released on August 28, 2014 in Japan for PlayStation Vita.

Senran Neptunia plz get a NA release date very SOON along with that Noire spin off, it’s SO good to be a Vita owner right now!

    • Bob Slim

      I agree loving my vita

  • Mind0105A

The more they break those costume, the more stronger the player become. This is the true meaning, I finally understood the art of raising your own sword, SENSEI!!,

  • Idk why, but seeing Vert in Costume Break reminded me of this lol

  • Kamakuma

Not gonna lie when I saw the U at the end of the game title I was all “A Senran Kagura Neppy game on WiiU?!” O.O But either way Vita-chan s good as well~ x’D

  • Kornelious

The Sisters HAVE to be in every Neptunia game now as a requirement…..But that’s a good thing :D

Also It’s good to see the Kagura clothes-ripping system is at it;s best here…….(Evil laughter) >:)

    • DyLaN

Well…. They aren’t in Noire game.

    • Zalin

      • TheBlackRabbit

  • DyLaN
  • Zalin

I can see this one being censored in american, costume brake system wont be very well received on a character like rom and ram. :/

    • Liamv2

Looking at the magazine scans I don’t think they get costume brake’s. I hope.

      • Eric Harris

Yeah I don’t think so either. All of the girls from SKSV and even this game, some of them are on that borderline (cutesy). But Rom and Ram are OBVIOUSLY loli.

      • Hikari Langley

Yes the delicious loli’s also get costume breaks.

  • alixraen

God dammit. PLEASE don’t go this route, Neptunia. I’ve been with you since the beginning ;; This is the exact thing that turned me off to SK, and I feel it’s inclusion probably will do more harm than good.

    • Anime10121

This game is going this route because its MADE by the folks who make SK…

    • Hikari Langley

Judging by the fanbase, I doubt this game would do more harm than good. I love SK and Neptunia, having something like this is a good dream come true.

      • alixraen

I really doubt it. The way it’s been going, SK fanservice = good. Pretty much any other fanservice recently (Mugen Souls, Monster Monpiece) = bad. Fanservice in Neptunia is nowhere close to the level it is in SK, which is why I fear it may turn some people off.

        • Hikari Langley

There is always a chance people could be turned off when it comes to fanservice, but that’s for each individual to decide. As I can tell quite a few people are ecstatic for seeing Nep-Nep’s battle damaged attire.

I’m a complete fan of Neptunia and this or the Idol game hasn’t made me lose interest in the slightest.

        • ThirdChildZKI

The Neptunia series has always had a measure of fanservice, often hidden or even lampshaded by its own sense of humor. It’s also often completely smashed right through its own comfort zone and gotten downright raunchy or even deathly serious. Costume breaks are mild by comparison.

I mean come on, If the CPUs are supposed to be maybe 16-18ish, and the little sisters perhaps 12-14ish, then Vert introduced Nepgear – a minor – not only to porn games, but Yaoi ones at that. Then there’s Chika (ambiguously raging lesbian), IF, Blanc, and now Plutia (notable series’ foulmouths), CFW Trick (blatantly obvious lolicon) and “that ending” we don’t like to speak of.

Yeah, costume breaks are no biggie.

          • Landale

You’re assuming quite a bit on the ages. The only CPU with a confirmed age range is Peashy; Physically and, due to tampering, mentally locked at about 5 or 6, but around 18 or so by the end.
mkII timeline CPUs are said to be born as they are, and judging by Trick’s statements, it can be assumed that, aside from Ram and Rom, all of them are at least physically beyond the 16-18 range you offer up, with those two exceptions likely being effectively 10 or younger. The actual numbers could be much higher or lower, but that’s a safer guess on the physical state.

As for your statement on Chika, and frankly that whole section: Are you fucking kidding?! Did you seriously put a character being a lesbian as worse than clothing damage? And why single her out when the vast majority of the cast is either openly or obviously gay? More importantly did you seriously just put that, and swearing, on a similar level as a damn pedophile on how you scale things as “no biggie”? There are a lot of things in these games that could’ve been lumped together with Trick as examples of extremes, swearing and being gay shouldn’t even register as being more extreme than clothing damage.

          • ThirdChildZKI

I think you misunderstood that one, and that was my fault for not clarifying. In terms of eyebrow raising, attention-grabbing, possibly-controvercial things, yes Chika’s sexuality does stand out. Not for being “bad” or “worse” than other things, no, but where everyone else may be in question, she’s the only one (no pun intended) who plays it straight. And unfortunately, it does stir people up. Why? I don’t know. If I ever do figure it out, perhaps it won’t bother me so much either. This was actually one of my bigger gripes with the anime. As much as I enjoyed it, as tame as it was, why was she just completely omitted from the show? Personally I’M used to it both being an “oh my” kinda thing for some, and an “okay on the surface” thing for others, but we’re not discussing MY orientation here. . .

Beyond that, yes, anyone who knows the series knows there’s quite the adult layer beneath the moe and humor of the series, so clothing damage really isn’t a big thing. Fanservice has always been there, they’re just being less subtle about it.

    • ShadowDivz

I always thought this was inevitable.

      Hell, im surprised you’re surprised.

      • alixraen

I’m surprised you’re surprised I’m surprised. You reckon it’s a bit of wishful thinking on my part to hope that this franchise *didn’t* go the clothes-exploding route? I feel that’s a reasonable thing to hope for.

        • ShadowDivz

But when the franchise in question is about moe versions of consoles and companies. I can’t help but feel it’s inevitable.

  • ShadowDivz

    Hear that Mr Anderson?
That is the sound of inevitability.

  • YAY! NOW, Who wants to donate some money to me so i can get a Vita?

    • Look man, you need that money for more beans. Save it for now.

  • YAY! NOW, Who wants to donate some money to me so i can purchase a Vita and enjoy this title? :(

  • Jesse

Aside from the stripping nonsense, I’m looking forward to this.

  • Vash bane

this …doesn’t sound like the game to wait for to get into this series lol but all the characters are in it…and im curious of their personalities XDD
