Damn.. I wonder if I should upgrade my pc.. My gtx 770 might not be enough to handle witcher 3..

    • Alestaos

Played Witcher 1 and 2 on PC but for Witcher 3 im having to get it on the PS4. Which kind of sucks for me but atleast ill be able to play the game. Just no modding :(

      • Masa

Same, played Witcher 1 and 2 on pc but no way can i afford to upgrade my machine to play this beast, grabbing for ps4 instead, lol.

    • Tuco Benedicto

Well, you can at least be sure a GTX 700 will outperform a PS4/XB1 in every possible way.
Personally, having one myself, I’m expecting it to be more than enough to play this game just fine with some minor compromise in terms of “max settings”.

That said, I’m also weighting my options for an eventual upgrade because if this game is going to be as good as I’m expecting it to be, I’m not sure I want to settle with “just fine”. I may want to play it at its absolute best.

I hope the persistent world is not just an Elderscrolls-esque bluff. Even to this day, not many games had that element done so right like Shenmue did way back when. I also hope the game is open to modding so people can play around with the flora and fauna and also adding more persistent NPCs.

    • wez

Shenmue was nuts. Actual different weather every single day that matched the records of the time. and everyone saying something different every time you progressed story.

      • silvaring

And then it all gets let down by your 9-5 job as a courier or mass murderer. Given the methodology that devs use to creating these open world environments I’m curious to see if CDProjekt-Red are able to break free from the ‘samey’ courier style mission design they all seem to have. Maybe something along the lines of Risen? However I doubt they will do it.

      That world felt so alive…

Little things like opening the cabinet and pulling out the game console, or calling ppl for no reason on thr phone…

      Good stuff

Great article. Thanks for asking interesting questions!

  • Göran Isacson

That kind of dedication to detail is some real crazy. Just hope that it’s not to the point where it bankrupts the studio if they don’t sell a fantazillion copies…

  • fairysun

When game developers start treating plants with some level of importance, you know how much dedication they have on this game. I probably will never ever finish the Witcher series, but day 1 purchase it shall be.

  • CleruTesh

Seattle. Lol. Last time I was there I remember seeing a traffic light with a diagonal arrow. I was like WTF? And laughed.

  • Kornelious

Capra Demon and Snow areas………HECK YEAH! :D

  • MrTyrant

This game will be awesome. CD projekt also stated their dislike about DLC and cannot understand why companies should charge their fans with additional content. They say that when someone buy their games is like they are signing a long-time contract and because of that all the additional content should be free, be this weapons or characters or quest. The only logical way to sell a DLC for them is just when its an expansion with new places, events and everything.

    Yeah I like these guys.

  • subsamuel01

Just finished the original Witcher, it was alright but I heard the Witch 2 is a lot better. I’ll be caught up on the story when this game comes around, can’t wait.

  • Calintz YT

Looks like a slightly brighter version of skyrim.

  • James Robert Thompson

I find it weird that people are praising them for putting so much effort into the plant-life when that was highlighted as one of the biggest problems with Final Fantasy XIV Vanilla…

    • http://mahdrills.com Mahdrills

They criticized FFXIV for that? Well, given what I know about the original FFXIV, it had many other problems that people probably thought “Well, if they hadn’t spent so much time on the damn plants, maybe they could have made a decent game”

I imagine people will have the same reaction if Witcher 3 comes out and the only good thing about it is the plant life. Which is unlikely, but *shrug*
