I think that the battle system in the games has gotten somewhat stale and that Bandai Namco is being conservative with it. It would be great if they changed the battle system, it feels like playing the same game with new characters that could’ve passed as DLC.

They changed the battle system in Ultimate Ninja Heroes 3 and the first Ninja Storm, and experiment with new ideas in the first Legends Akatsuki Rising so I know that they can do it.

      Same game new characters
      And alot of old ones.
Welcome to NB Anime. It prints money. Buy, Bitches!

Yes, i’ve noticed that sport games are also guilty of this but I don’t blame. There is only one way to play basketball.

        • k.b.a.

Even small changes matter like when they introduced NBA street series. But my gripe is Namco Bandai doing this with so many of their anime fighters. There isn’t one way to play dbz and yes there are quite a few variations… But is there a way to not play through that story? I’ll admit I’m carrying a traditional fighter bias and I want so much to like Naruto fighting games more, which is odd because I’ve been done with the series for like 4 years. There is so much potential with the universe and I feel as though its somewhat untapped though I can’t put my finger on quite how. I can say without a doubt for disliked dbz I quite like budokai 3 and budokai tenkaichi 3. That really came as close as possible to those games hitting a mark, OP saiyan bullshit aside.

So do you want to play the game without the story cutscenes or do you just want to have all of the characters from the beginning?

          • k.b.a.

There is no easy way to say this. I want the MK9 equivalent. There is a story in Naruto even if its tiresome to me others still like it. I don’t see any reason why all of the characters shouldn’t be all available from the beginning.

street fighter games have a habit of bad/nonexistent story modes and meticulously balanced carefully crafter rosters with moderate to learn difficult to master gameplay. BN anime games have laborious stories we all know full well. We all egt to see our favorite characters but usually at the end of the day 5 versions of Naruto and 3 versions of sasuke will take the cake. I can’t talk because I haven’t played these games much, but it felt like my fave was there for just fanservice. The game is fair in areas and maybe I just shouldn’t play it. I’m not the kind of guy who is just ok with things because a character I like is present.

For a sec there, I thought that was Madao…

The team attacks are really cool!

There had better be a NaruHina Raburabu attack in the game!

    • Hentailover

Datamining fo the demo revealed that yes, indeed, NaruHina have an ougi together

  • Not sure if I’ll be getting this Day 1. I’ve still got to beat Ultimate Ninja Storm 3. It’s not that these games are bad or anything. It’s just that the manga (and in turn, the anime) has been rather poor as of late that I’m slowly getting out of Naruto all together…

    • I feel your pain.

      • Guardian Byakko

Ditto just when I thought the final battle was about to begin a somewhat random event occurs to extend the battle further:( I like the series, but…damn it Kishimoto should have stuck to the flow in my opinion.

      • Shippoyasha

Just kidding. I still want to experience it as Cyber Connect does it.

        • Crimson_Cloud

If anything I’ll remember Naruto by, is the badass Pain and his Godly theme. I’m interested in the whole tournament thing honestly, and if it will alter some personality of the characters.

  • k.b.a.

Ugh at least with unbalance I can lose as 90 other characters.
Is someone anywhere working on a ninja fighting game with poisons. Tools. Dark colors. Shadows. Night time. Quiet. The last three are a biggie.

    • kenshinx13

Mark of the Ninja is a good example, ok it’s not really a fighting game, but a good Ninja game

      • k.b.a.

I need to finish that…it really is a great ninja game. I guess there can’t be a great ‘ninja’ fighting game these days. When I’m proven wrong I think we will all know beyond a shadow of a doubt. Not saying that the Naruto games are no good, but Namco Bandai formula for anime games is… Tiresome.

however I would play this system if it were done with the last air bender. I’d play it to death. But I’d only buy one game.

        • kenshinx13

well, platinum games is making that Legend of Korra game, not a fighting game but I have hope

  • fairysun

Wait, can Kushina perform Rasengan offically?

    • Guardian Byakko

I think she’s just similar to some of the movie characters who can’t do rasengan, but can enhance them by giving chakra to a ninja that can use rasengan (usually Naruto). Naruto Clash in the Land of Snow movie showed people the Rainbow Rasengan which was made through this means.

    • Naruto

She isn’t using the Rasengan. She’s just adding chakra to it.

  • Kornelious

Wow! I wasn’t that amped for this game at first but now I’m hyped! +)

It looks a lot better than I expected! The number of characters, the team attacks, Being able to move on the map in “Story” mode, The Super awakening forms, and that we get to fight Ten tails! :D (Which even though it’s his first “Official” collored appearance he doesn’t look much different :P)

September can’t come soon enough!……Actually I hope it doesn’t, I still need to save for all the game’s releasing X(

    • Wait until you hear about Drive Type. It’ll be the death of this game.

      • Kornelious

Honestly, I try not to get into the game’s mechanics to much…..I feel it makes it less fun -_-

  • Great trailer. But the support type mechanics… online is an ass kicker.

  • Prinnydoom

Well…recently I haven’t been into the naruto games. Ever since it gained a replacement jutsu gauge I haven’t been into it. Seriously, that is the one and only reason I haven’t touched these games in years.

Having said that…..with the addition of all these new characters and general overhaul on the system and the lengths Bandco are going to I am once again interested in it. This looks extremely promising.

  • I hope the 4 player battle mode thing will spice up the gameplay a little.

  • Paul Rodriguez

This game is in need of a tag mode like Capcom’s VS series (or the last mortal Kombat).

    Maybe next time.

  • that was amazing. Itachi cooking an egg might have been the best part. lol.

  • GÍlgamesh Goldenking

See i told everybody this game will have boss battles it isn’t generation it has got free roam :v lol i was right XD (can’t wait for September)

  • The Watcher

Played the demo last night and it feels very balanced. You can choose to either have your ultimate jutsu, Awakening or Drive to seal your opponents ultimate Jutsu/Awakening mode. And Glad they brought back the flashy ultimate Jutsus like in Storm 1
