Monster Hunter 2’s Teostra Is Back In Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate

By Ishaan . July 7, 2014 . 9:00am

Teostra, an Elder Dragon that first appeared in Monster Hunter 2, is back in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, and he has a bunch of new attacks. Capcom have outlined some of these in in update on Capcom Unity.

The main change in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is that Teostra’s can use his tail and claw swipes to spread explosive dust that latches on to you. Previously, he was only capable of doing this using his explosive area-of-effect attack.

Weapons created using Teostra material used to be Fire Element, but in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, these are Blast (previously called Slime). That name change also applies to the Blastblight (previously called Slimeblight) condition in the game.

Blastblight, eh? That totally makes sense!

I mean, only Brachydios can produce the explosive slime. I was wondering if they were just going to continue using the term “slime” for other monsters as well. Nice to see that the term’s updated.

By the way, fellow hammer users… His hammer is AWESOME!!

His armor is also great for fighting those that do explosions and good for ESP if paired with the right head piece and slots. Fantastic against Red Tigrex, that pain in the ass ._.’

Overall he’s pretty easy in this game I’d say, especially with an Insect Staff. Besides that Event one that taps you for like, 70% of your health.

      • Namuro

Yeah, he’s not THAT hard anymore, once you learn how to jump over his explosive-attacks with the staff.

I remember when I first fought him with the Gunlance, LOL. I thought I’d tough it out and guard against his attacks, until he did that burst attack…

The armour for men/swordsmen is not bad at all. The hips are a little strange but that’s nice. ^^”

Yeah, it looks like you have front butt…

      • Front Butts! Or a huge pair of Spanish C-words. The latter would be most uncomfortable, though.

  • Jadfish

Man this guy took many tries to beat in MHFU. Then I got to his Queen…

    • J_Joestar

wonder if she’ll show up this time around since she was absent in vanilla 4.

      • 하세요

Her armor was still obtainable via trade quest, so it kind of would be a waste of a better monster. One that doesn’t share most of the moveset.

    • Go2hell66

he was pretty easy if you used a great sword against him

  • randominternetperson

Yay, we get to fight him again and craft the same exact looking weapons and armors!

    • Namuro

Well, at least it gives some people (at least those who only got started from MHU3) a chance to fight him. Not to mention that he has loads of new moves, so you won’t really be fighting the same monster…

Also, there’s a new weapon that you can craft from him in MH4, a hammer… A very, very awesome hammer!

  • deadMastershiro

Second set of armor looks like santa and his wife

  • I wonder if the Grank armor would be different this time?

  • Xerain

Teostra and Lunastra… the only two I did NOT want back. STAY STILL DAMMIT!!!

  • kyubey777

I want to fight Chamelos too, his theme are so cool

  • MaskedHeroxx

    Thats ugly
