  • Congratz to the team, this series was my favorite out of fan films

    • David García Abril

Considering Capcom produced and promoted the whole thing (Ono even has a cameo), I wonder how much you can call this a “fan film”. :S

  • Sperium3000

With a title like that, it has to be about the tournament. Question is, is it going to follow the games? If so, is it going to be the first tournament? Because Street Fighter 1 is, oddly enough, the black sheep of the series.

    • AverageGamers

I think World Warrior refers to SF2. Ansah already said that he wanted to include Chun Li and Guile if the World Warrior gets the greenlight.

      • leingod

I wonder if they’ll skip the original tournament, then. IMO it was mostly boring, but it has a major event in it: Sagat’s loss to Ryu and his scarring.

        • colorblindnightmare

I would think it would potentially follow the alpha route. Although, skippingbthe original sagat/ryu fight could be a potential cardinal sin against fans :p

          • leingod

I don’t remember well. Did Alpha have the scarring event? As far as I know, Alpha series comes between SFs 1 and 2.

          • colorblindnightmare

You are correct. I forgot that he technically got it in sf1. So my statement is kinda moot.

  • AverageGamers

Great news! I love this series… cause quite possibly, this is the best live action video game adaptation so far. Can’t wait to see the other fighters joining the fray. They should definitely cast actors from respective countries, though if it isn’t possible, other than Gouki, Joey Ansah can play Sagat too, he already has the built.

And now I can finally watch the last two episodes of Assassin’s Fist. I’ve been saving to do that just because I didn’t want it to end XD

Ryu’s actor is actually Korean so they already failed at that. It’s all good though.

      • Kaitsu

The only thing that I care about is how the series uses a lot of other languages other than English. That’s the greatest part of the series. Because they did that perfectly.

        • David García Abril

Well, if they do so, then in the second season we can expect some Chinese, Hindi, Russian, Portuguese, Spanish and Thai. lol

As a fellow Spaniard, though, I hope they get Vega’s accent right. :P

      • colorblindnightmare

Why would that matter? If the actor understands the character, does the coreography well and doea a good job over all it doesn’t matter if he’s korean.

        • Richard N

My comment was a response to AverageGamer’s desire that all characters are casted as their proper ethnicity and pointing out that they already didn’t do that with Ryu. I have no problem with them not be 100% true casting wise, I was just pointing it out. Which is why I said: “it’s all good though.”

    • David García Abril

This IS the best live action video game adaptation so far! :)

Unlike the other “best” live action adaptations, if this wasn’t a “Street Fighter” story, it would still hold up.

The only other live-action adaptation that could compete would be the “Ace Attorney” movie, but I’d need to watch it again to be sure.

I think the best aspect is that they made it a character driven story in a martial arts settings, instead of the other way around.

So yeah! Bring more, please! ^^

I really hope they don’t just curb Ryu and Ken to the side and totally focus on Chun-li and Guile. Probably one of the most simple basic reasons I really liked the series was that the creators understood the basic fact that Ryu and Ken are the main characters of Street Fighter.

If so, I know me and my fellow Ryu X Chun-li shippers are gonna go nuts for some scenes of them together.

    • David García Abril

I just hope they don’t indulge on the “ship tease”. That can be a total can of worms if not handled carefully… :S

      • Ciaran Doherty

Aye, it’s basically you need to fill both sides of the scales at the same balance carefully.

  • Ciaran Doherty

Aside from Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li and Guile, hopefully we’ll see the other big leaguers of Street Fighter:
    Possibly maybe as well:
    Fei Long.
    Dee Jay.

  • Matty

I liked it but I thought they took the characters in weird directions. Like I know Ken is a bro but they kinda made him like a D-bag ponce, and some of the Akuma stuff didn’t need to be demystified. It was alittle corny.

  • colorblindnightmare

Excellent. I thought the first series was great. Exploring the Gouken/Akuma relationship was great and apart from the kinda cheesy hados the production value was amazing.

    • Arz

but Gouken’s slow mo hadoken tho

  • N Slater

As loyal to the series as they are, as well as actual fans, I am more than confident they are going to give us a hell of a show!
