imageBandai Namco is developing on an Irregular at Magic High School fighting game for PlayStation Vita. They aren’t the only company working with the light novel series. Square Enix just announced The Irregular at Magic High School: Lost Zero.

The Irregular at Magic High School: Lost Zero is a magic battle RPG for iPhone and Android. BeXide (Million Arthur for Vita) and Production IMS (Date-A-Live II) are working on the game’s graphics. The game will be free to play with additional items available for purchase.

The Irregular at Magic High School: Lost Zero is slated for release this fall in Japan.

Better have spiderman in it or that game is just going to be about insect.

    • Postnjam

There is tea everywhere, thank you.

Vita fighting game by Bamco or F2P mobile game from SE. Hm.

  • Somerandomperson

They should swap, SE should do the Vita game and NBGs should do IOS Android. Too bad that SE is more focused on Smartphones.

I am guessing the smart phone version will profit more

When I’ve seen Square Enix… I was already sure this will be some mobile crap. I’ll just buy the real game, for VITA.

    • DyLaN

Hey MA was fun to play not to mention it has some of the best art works in iOS card games.

  • DyLaN

That we will never get just like the Vita game :/

Still Production IMS huh….. DAL II have it fair share of QUALITY moments (that were fixed in the BDs) but I assume they are only drawing the card illustration so it shouldn’t be that bad.

Is mahouka that good? I got bored after episode 15.

IMO, if the premise interests you: ignore the anime; read the books.

The books basically explain all the stuff skipped over in the animation, because there’s a lot of “thinking” and basically asides explaining the logic behind the magic or the general world politics and stuff like that. The animation I find has too many “this makes no sense” or “why are they doing that?” moments because it never explains why people are doing something weird when there’s an ‘obvious’ simpler solution, which of course isn’t simpler because things work a little different in their world.

It can get a bit too wordy at times (especially in the earlier books when they’re doing a bit more world building at the almost-but-not-quite our-world-with-magic world), but I enjoy them much more.

Tnks, the reason why I dropped it was because it did not seem right. Thanks to your explaination I understood why that was.

the novel is definitely superior to the anime. it is kinda impossible to include all the monologues into the animation.

i say that this anime is made for people who have read the novels and would want to see certain scenes being animated

Oh boy, I bet they will make a Lightning cameo and she will kick Tatsuya’s butt just cause she can.

    • Satoshi Ookami

Actually… nope, she cannot. No one can beat Tatsuya.

The anime is OK, the second arc with the magical games really got boring though after a while. Stretched on for to long. of course we’ll get neither game anyway.

  • These comments lol

If you see Squeenix in the title, odds are it’s a mobile game. Just so expectations are set well in advance.

I wouldn’t totally be against Sarah’s outfit from the first game as a costume dlc. That is if this wasn’t a cheap mobile game.

  • Yan Zhao

Sigh, was interested when I read magic battle RPG.

Then the mobile line ruins the hype once again.

  • I’m intrigued by what this game’s going to be like. However, I’m not that enthused about another mobile game from Squeenix. Hopefully this one turns out more like Million Arthur though. Then it will be worth checking out further; at the very least.

  • Ping92

    SE never fails to disappoint

  • subsamuel01

Why am I not surprised that SE is a mobile game.

  • Kornelious

Square already loses to NB because it’s mobile :P

  • CheeseCake

    Reads title: OK
    Reads mobile:Nah.

    • ShadowDivz

      Totally me.

      • Ric Vazquez

        Me too

    • Ratcher

I love this anime! However i don’t have a VIta and i’d rather not play it on android :'( But i’ll still keep myself posted on what’s happening as i’m curious to see what the game mechanics and the game is actually like…

  • Ric Vazquez

It just had to be mobile, didn’t it SE?!

  • WhyWai

Click in to check if my guess it’s for mobile correct. And I am.
