Love Live! School Idol Paradise Splits Its Music List Between Three Games

By Spencer . August 12, 2014 . 1:10am

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva developer Dingo and Kadokawa Games are turning the Love Live! series into a rhythm game. Well, technically three games. Love Live! School Idol Paradise will be sold in three volumes Vol.1 Printemps, Vol. 2 BiBi, and Vol. 3 Lilywhite have different songs.

Some songs like "Shangri-La Shower" and "No Brand Girls" are common in all three games. "Heaven of Loneliness," for example, is only in Love Live! School Idol Paradise Vol. 1 Printemps. "I’ve Become a Magician" is exclusive to Vol. 2 BiBi and you’ll only find "Signal of Live Rin Rin Rin" in Vol. 3 Lilywhite.

Love Live! School Idol Paradise Vol. 1 – Vol. 3 will be available on August 28 in Japan.

    I read “No Brain Girls”

Boy do the character models look ropey on this. Kadokawa Games clearly haven’t given this a budget (or lack thereof).

They probably just took the models they used for the music videos and lowered the polygon count.

…In which case they seem to have gone too far. It’s not like there’s a lot going on on the screen in this game – there’s no excuse for this.

      Money milking for fans
Love live is very big in japan
The fanatic fans will buy it whatever it looks whether good or bad
They just want to play the music

Putting the whole issue of how much money they’ll be making by selling it as 3 games aside, it’s annoying that you have to switch games to play that one song when you want to play it.

That’s my major complaint about the Project Diva series as well. It would be great if Project Diva F 2nd could detect a Data install from Project Diva F and let you access the songs from that game without you having to switch games.
Just imagine being able to hit random and have it pick from such a huge potential playlist.

  • Somerandomperson

I hope it sells well so that there could be a sequel with more songs in it.
The current form just seems like Dingo being a little lazy. (maybe short on budget?)

    • Xerain

If things are as they usually are, Kadokawa games is responsible for the actual game play and how many songs are in it. usually Dingo focuses on the character models and animation only.

I’ve played a few games with Dingo-made models in them, and the quite varied form game to game a bit. I;m guessing it has to do with how much Dingo was paid for that particular project.

Still, that has nothing to do with how many songs are in the game, is what i was getting at. Unless something changed, that’s all on Kadokawa Games.

Hopefully this will get localization =D
The gameplay seems similar to the mobile game and it was localized so… hope, hope!

    • Renaldi Saputra

Maybe nope, releasing it on 3 different version will make it harder to localize
      Also paid DLC
Also licensing the music isn’t easy for 3rd parties like xseed or nisa or aksys

      • Satoshi Ookami

They could always put everything together and release it as one whole game.

        • Renaldi Saputra

Nope, they won’t. It’s troublesome for a series that even has only a few fans in the west. Idol girl series are rather underrated and unpopular in the west

          • Satoshi Ookami

You would be surprised… I think it shows on the sales of Im@s and that School Festival got 200k players in 2 months or so.

          • Renaldi Saputra

It’s bcos most of the players are in south east asia and hong kong
            200k users = 200k downloads
            Just bcos it’s F2P game
But do those 200k users are still playing? Nope

Im@s did very bad on iOS bcos it costs very high

  • Keko

Selling 3 games for $60 is just mean. They’re trying to make us poor or something? That being said, I’m ready to buy them all. BiBi must be mine!

    • Renaldi Saputra

It’s been usual for idol girl series, they’re usually do money milking
Just look at im@s for example

      • Keko

I wonder if they’ll release a LL! game for PS3/4 that lets you create your units like in IM@S. I’d import that. I’m no stranger to LL! milking; I play School Idol Festival.

        • Renaldi Saputra

I don’t know but LL games are mostly rhythm games

          • Keko

It’s easier then; you just pick your character models. Maybe you get different songs if you choose certain characters in the same unit. I just want to play LL!, honestly.

Another article of Siliconera muddling up translations. Nobody knows these songs by their English-y names, why not just keep the romaji titles and stay faithful/accurate/coherent?

  • ztype

This probably won’t see localization, but I still want it, well all three. One at a time though…my favorite is BiBi, probably pick that up first.

    • Renaldi Saputra

Then you’ll spend more than 15k yen

      • ztype

Yup it isn’t cheap that’s for sure.

        • Renaldi Saputra

          Such a money milking series
Luckily I wasn’t one of fans

  • http://zysets.tumblr.com/ Zysets

BiBi is popular it seems. I’d have to admit I want that one the most too. Maki <3
