The Great Ace Attorney Will Have Its Own Theater Showing At Tokyo Game Show 2014

While we haven’t heard much about The Great Ace Attorney in a while, that’s about to change soon. Capcom have announced that the game will have a special showing at Tokyo Game Show 2014, next month.

According to Capcom, their latest project in the Ace Attorney series, The Great Ace Attorney, will be shown in a special theater during Tokyo Game Show, as part of an event-only screening.

The presentation will be packed with new information on the upcoming game that will only be shown at the event. The developers will also be present to show some of the latest gameplay footage, too.

In case you’re just getting caught up, The Great Ace Attorney is a game that’s set in the Meiji period of Japan where you play as Phoenix Wright’s ancestor, and is being handled by Ace Attorney creator Shu Takumi.

The Great Ace Attorney is currently in development for Nintendo 3DS.

    Ah yes, Meiji-era Los Angeles.

Well, I’m prepared to import if they decide not to localize this one….

That comic still makes me laugh every single time I see it. I, too, own a traditional American kotatsu.

I am amazed how this comic was posted on Siliconera no less than five times and it still has the most upvotes in the thread. Dont you people get tired of telling the same jokes?… Jesus…

In a real world, telling the same joke more than two times would get people being bored with you in no time, but on the internet, it doesn’t seem to be the case.

you’d think people would be tired of it by now, but looking at all the upvotes, they probably aren’t

Atta boy! Give yourself a hug!

  • Sky

YES! I can’t wait to see more of this game. Been waiting for an update for this game.

  • Yan Zhao

Capcom needs to give it a rest with the westernazation and just keep this in Japan.

    • Hound

If you’re talking about the westernization of the world within Phoenix Wright, they have backed off of it during the recent re-release of the original games (possibly in preparation for this one?)

      • Namuro

Really? You mean the trilogy collection? How exactly did they “back off” from the localization?

    • They really can’t move this to the US this time around, mainly because it IS set in Japan with no wiggle room.

      • AttorneyAtMusic

Capcom: Welcome to Ye Olde Colonial America.

        • John Smith

Now put down your katana and sit down for some mochi and tea.

      • Tom_Phoenix

That hasn’t stopped them before. =P

But on a serious note, this almost certainly will remain a Japanese setting, probably with the explanation that Phoenix’s ancestors immigrated from Japan at some point. That I think would be much less work than trying to transform the setting of The Great Ace Attorney into 19th century California.

  • thrak

God I am so looking forward to this game. Only their majesty Persona 5 can beat my hype for this game but I am looking forward to them both at TGS :)

  • Shippoyasha

Hopefully it’s not an agonizingly long wait for localization.

Then again, it’s always been that way.

  • Tarkovsky

I have a tiny inkling that we will see a ton of portable games for both the Vita and 3DS this TGS, something which I’m extremely excited about.

  • DudeJericho

Whoa, can’t believe I didn’t hear about this, looks cool.

  • XiaomuArisu

we need Blackquills Ancestor in there~

  • Daniel

Had actually totally forgotten about this and i love the time period and premise of everything

  • AxeRaider

    I wonder if that’s Phoenix’s hair inverted.
