Hatsune Miku: Magical Mirai 2014 Streamed For PlayStation Plus Members In Japan

By Spencer . August 26, 2014 . 10:55pm

imageSony will bring the Hatsune Miku: Magical Mirai 2014 concert to homes throughout Japan as a PlayStation Plus perk. If you have a Japan region account, you will be able to download an app to view the Osaka Hatsune Miku concert starting on September 17.

Hatsune Miku: Magical Mirai 2014 will be available to view with the limited theater app between September 20 to November 19. Once you begin streaming the concert you’ll have a four week period to watch it. However, you will not be able to watch the concert even if your four week period has not expired after November 19 at 11:59 PM, Japan time.

Attendees at the concert will be able to play Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F 2nd and see the new costumes before they are released this fall. Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia will also have a booth with a VitaHoloPop demo. This augmented reality demo uses the PlayStation Vita to project images over a figurine case, like this example with a Hatsune Miku diorama.

kind of wish it would happen in the states as well for the Nokia Concert in LA

    • Kayriss Wins

Agreed, I’ll just have to try my luck searching Youtube for the full concert in LA and NY. Wish I could join but I don’t live anywhere near those two states, I’m especially jealous after I learned they’d be releasing a Limited edition Halloween themed Nendoroid of Miku at both Events as well :(

      • RocKM001 .

Or you *could* just buy the BD/DVD’s =P

Most of the events are available on Amazon xD

Limited edition Halloween themed Nendoroid of Miku?!? Is this something I can buy or did I need to buy VIP tickets for the VIP bonuses? I heard the VIP tickets sold out within a minute and I didn’t manage to get one, so I just bought the second best tickets which was not VIP.

        • Kayriss Wins

Idk about needing VIP tickets, I just assumed you can buy it long with other available merchandise at kiosks outside the concert. I’ll be very disappointed if Good Smile doesn’t release it later for preorder.

I found more information. It will be probably sold at the Hatsune Miku Exhibition: Halloween Party at a location 4 minutes away by car and 22 minutes away by foot from the concert. It will be held at Los Angeles Center Studios. I’m totally going to go there! http://mikuexpo.com/la_exhibition

          • Kayriss Wins

Damn your lucky, I really want that Nendoroid! lol.

          • AndyError

Update, in case you haven’t seen it: Picture of the Nendoroid Halloween Miku! I’m probably going to buy one unless it sells out instantly or something. http://mikuexpo.com/la_goods

Hmm, prolly need a JP account with PLUS to watch this awesomeness, right? :(

I’m pretty sure that you can get a free trial of Playstation Plus on the Japanese PSN so if you can figure that out you’ll be good to go :)

      • AndyError

I didn’t know there was a free trial… I remember seeing an ad on the Japan PSN store for a discount price on PS+ recently though… I don’t know if the sale is still going on.

“…will be available to view with the limited theater app between September 20 to November 19.” — awww yeah, 4 weeks. We have a lot of time, for a busy people like me, lol.

But I am not understand this one: “you will not be able to watch the concert even if your four week period has not expired after November 19 at 11:59 PM, Japan time.”

    Can someone explain?

And, will it region locked? I have PS4 (Asia machine) with Japanese account but I am afraid the streaming will be region locked. Thanks.

    • Nyum

      From what I understood.
You have 4 weeks to finish watching from the moment you started the stream. After the 19th November the stream is cut off. So say you start watching the stream the 18th November, the deadline to watch it won´t be the 18th or so December, but the next day (November 19 at 11:59 PM, Japan time)

      • mokalovesoulmate

Another question: can I rewatch the livestream twice or more as long as the date not reaching the final day (November 19)?

  • Daniel Rossevelt

Could some one hit me in the head enough times until I believe I am in Japan, or maybe ship me there on a boat? I hate how Japan gets all the good stuff, and leaves me either broke from imports or depressed because I can’t have it.

As a big fan of Hatsune Miku, I’m so excited to watch the Magical Mirai concert!

For anyone outside Japan or without a Japanese PSN account, it might be less of a hassle to check out the Nico live stream if they do that again.
