Damn, that’s like a lot of artwork for this type of game.

    EDIT: Detailed artwork that is.

    • Sylveria Shini

Such a waste of good resources from talented people.

  • Randgriz

I was really looking forward to this until i realised i havent seen any concrete confirmation this is coming to Android / Day and date. Can anyone help me out here?

    • l3reezer

Release date is October 2014 I believe. Given that this article is filed under both Android and iPhone, I think it’s same to presume dual support

  • Sav

    so from LO to this?

    no LO 2 right?

    oh good.

    • Guillermo Oliva III

I would be amazed if this was suppose to be Lost Odyssey II :b

  • z_merquise

Gameplay look more like something like a card-game or a browser game but with more fancy effects. It’s too bad because I really like the artwork. Perhaps I’ll be more interested if this is an actual RPG and not like what they’re showing now.

I’m sure some will be interested in this kind of game but this is surely not for me. Still, the developers sure had an ambitious goal for the game so best of luck to them.

  • Kornelious

Well this is…..Disappointing….C’mon Sakaguchi I know you can do better than this :(

    • Guillermo Oliva III

A lot of western players did not purchase or notice Mistwalkers first two console games….. Blue Dragona and Lost Odyssey. So, that was a huge loss and then, The Last Story was created exclusively for the Wii console ,therefore ….. that might of not sold well either. Above all, Hironobu Sakaguchi work is sorta going through harsh sales :/

      • Brian

I did my part in buying The Last Story, I even think I read an article about it selling well enough not sure

        • SaiyanJedi_Trunks

I loved it and wish they could continue to dish out quality work such as that. However, they also have to pay the bills.

        • Guillermo Oliva III

Wow, I did not know that and I am glad to hear that to be honest. Also, I did my part by buying both Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey for Xbox 360.

      • John Diamond

to be fair, I suspect the low sales come from teh fact that the first two games were released on the Xbox 360

        • Guillermo Oliva III

Yeah, you are right …. :/

  • EtherealEarth

Really interested in playing this game, especially when there’s 2m+ downloads and possibly coming to PSV.

Personally, I am more of a fan who like to play games on a game console than on my phone ><

    • Randgriz

Yeah i think everyone should just download it, even if they play for a little while. I find the game intersting myself so i think ill be playng for a while, so long as the game is fair on the cooldowns.

      • EtherealEarth

Yeah, same here. I will try it as soon as it’s out.
And hopefully it’s not too much of a pay-to-win kind of game :/

    • HarakiriKami

The game wont be on consoles in that form

  • rinalicat

    Hm…not what I expected…and I must admit I don’t understand the game controls…but then again I won’t know until I play it and I’m excited! I can’t wait!

    • Randgriz

Its basicly, a strategy tile game. Line up your troops in certain ways and they get bonus’s to their attacks. You have 4 seconds to move your troops per turn. The free to play aspect comes in with the form of stamina, which battles require to take part in – stamina recharges over a set amount of time.

  • Sylveria Shini

Feels like I was watching someone stream their D&D board session… just even less interesting. So this is what “good” and “exciting” mobile phone gaming looks like? Yeah.. I’ll stick consoles and better handhelds.

    • John Diamond

I’d still give it a download though. cause of the download kickstarter and all

  • Guillermo Oliva III

I would not mind trying it ,since I play a lot of different rpg games.

  • Heropon

Generic and Mediocre . I don’t need this game if gameplay of console version is the same

  • Music is great & artwork is awesome.
As for the gameplay, i was thinking that it has the same vibe as agarest war (with grid and lining position)

  • Namuro

That actually looks really good! The strategic combat which focus on different team-formations and unit placement via a simple dragging control look pretty fun. I can see people who like Puzzle and Dragons will enjoy this.

Then there’s the lovely music, and the nice artwork. They sure gathered quite a team of talented artists; I would especially like to see Suzuki-sensei’s designs in the game.

While I’m not really a big fan of games that use energy system and stuff, I’d quite like to try this out. As for the console version, if it ever gets a release like Puzzle and Dragons Z, I’ll be getting it for sure!

    • Randgriz

I agree totally, ill add you to my friends list when the game is out xD

  • triablos

I don’t know about you guys, but I lost interest. I may download and try it anyway seeing as its F2P.

  • AndyError

Is this game going to be free? I’m always skeptical of free games and how even fun games can be ruined by mechanics shoe-horned into the game to get players to pay money. A lot of the time free games just create ridiculous amounts of pointless grinding so players buy stuff to reduce the grind, which is just artificially extending play time, and even fun games can get dull like this.

  • Mila

I was expecting some 3D modeling and creativity in combat system :|
Welp , looks like FF Agito wins in that term for a smartphone game .

    • HarakiriKami

      Agito’s not that great

  • MK

If we don’t have to buy energy I will play it.

    • HarakiriKami

      You will have to

      • Randgriz

You dont HAVE to, stamina regains over time.

  • Guilherme Matheus Silva

    What an interesting battle system!

  • Tienron

i think i will download it to support it and hopfully get it on consoles, but i dont think i will play it to be honest, will try it but i know i wont stay on long enough to finish it….

  • Seven of The Scions

As for the gameplay appearance…..I expecting too much.

But I will help the download anyway…

  • Nope.

  • CirnoTheStrongest

Yep, that’s a phone game alright

  • mega jew

    What a waste of talent.

  • Tincho Kudos

That was… underwhelming to say the least. Maybe in Japan he finds success, altough it looks like a puzzle game with more depth (and maybe thats a turn off for the mobile puzzle crowd) , but I don’t really think it will do well in western territories.

  • Agito

How are they going to make a console version out of this? will it be an upgraded port with no micro-transaction, or perhaps something like arc rise phantasia (3d models on a grid-like battlesystem)?

  • This is sooo disappointing in so many ways…even this trailer with this bald monk looks completely off! I’ll pass

  • SupaPhly

    Mistwalker will never make a high budget console game ever again ;_;

Edit: this actually looks pretty fun

    • SaiyanJedi_Trunks

      It’s so sad ;_;

I love their console games i_i

  • Schiller

Reminds me of this FF IX mini game… Tetra Master was it?? Well, I thought it’s going to be something like a real 16 bit esque rpg but I’ll still eager to try it out. And if it’s just for some Uematsu music and nice artwork to look at :)

  • FFmax

Man this looks so bland, I was at least hoping they had sprites or something instead of just moving character images around. The attacks look nice but this game needs something more to stand out.

  • The-Beast

Nintendo needs to give them a call and fund The Last Story 2 for the Wii U.

  • Kaetsu

Well it’s a smartphone game and I shouldn’t have expected anything more(even though I did :P). I can probably get as much enjoyment out of it as I do from Puzzle and Dragons but that’s about it. Which is fine with me because it’s something I can play in quick bursts.

  • Lazulis

I actually like the looks of that battle system…I’m definitely downloading it!
