Nintendo Are Looking Into NicoNico Creators To Help Promote Their Games

Recommended Videos

Nintendo haven’t always been keen about players sharing their content through video, streams, and other forms of media, but things have changed in recent years. A new program that launched today allows NicoNico creators to promote some games and make some cash. [Thanks, Game Jouhou]

The “Creator Encouragement Program” has been announced in Japan, along with a list consisting of over 250 eligible games, ranging from Wii U to NES titles, which can be used by NicoNico creators for creative activity and support.

NicoNico users who register as part of the program can then earn incentive pay depending on the popularity of their work and contribution.

This is the company’s next step in working with fans as a way to help promote their games, as earlier this year, Nintendo created an affiliate program that shares some of its advertisement revenue with YouTubers who uploaded videos with Nintendo content.
