Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea comes out on March 10 in North America and March 13 in Europe.

I changed my avatar due to some kids otakus who really don’t like vocaloids;)

About this game. I played japanese version of Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea. I can say that this game has very good battle system and has no time limit. I think that Gust should make next game Atelier Iris 1 remake or Mana Khemia 1 remake with graphics like Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea .

    • MrTyrant

Why would you pay attention to what other say about your avatar?

      • Victor Wesker

Just look at avatars of those kids who don’t like my previous vocaloid avatar. Judging by them you may think that they are five year kids. They thought that i small kid and laughed on my avatar. I proved them that i am adult so i changed my avatar.

        • Cerzel

Why is an adult making a show out of changing his avatar because some kids made him upset?

          • animefreakhq

Why would an adult have an avatar like that represent themselves.

    • DyLaN

Seeing that Mana Khemia isn’t popular in Japan, the chances are minimal for a MK remake.

Not sure abt Atelier Iris though.

    • Kenchi Houmoto

I wish they’d remake Marie or Ellie with an updated art style and graphics, and formally introduce them to the west.

      • Yes. ;u;
        They really should do this!
I would love for these games to be remade, but especially if it means them finally existing outside of Japan.

    • FinalArcadia

Mana Khemia remade on PS3 or PS4 graphics would be great, especially since they’ve been bringing back a lot of its battle features in recent games so it’s not like it’d be a step back gameplay-wise. I do wonder if there’s any chance of the older games (pre-Rorona) getting any remakes somewhere down the road…

  • MrTyrant

Taste the power of me switching to japanese dub.

    • dispedia

      exactly what i thought.

    • dispedia

and especially if they’re gonna cut most of english voice like they did in escha logy anyway

  • Veloze

sounds totally unremarkable but that’s to be expected, i guess

    • sakanaとkoeda

I wish they would stage “die in” protests to end eng dub mediocrity.

      • Guest

        That sounds REALLY stupid.

        • sakanaとkoeda

So..kudos if this statement is not serious, but if it is:
“exaggeration” is implicit here, if that wasn’t obvious.

      • Spectacularity

        that’s not very nice :c

  • Liamv2

It’s ok. About the same quality and Escha and Logy’s dub.

  • Monterossa

Shallie has the worst outfit of all PS3 era protagonists.

    • gulabjamal

      Which one tho? WHICH

      • Monterossa

        BOTH!!

    • Isuke-sama

Sharlotte I agree, but Shallistera. Her outfit and hair color are dark compared to the other Arland/Dusk protagonists’ bright and colorful clothings. It’s a nice change.

      • MrTyrant

I dunno I prefer my green haired godness.

      • Cerzel

This. I adore Shallistella’s design. Shalotte’s design on the other hand is easily among the worst Atelier has to offer. And unlike Totori’s outfit being made by Rorona, Shalotte’s outfit doesn’t seem to have an excuse for its questionable fashion sense.

    • I really love both, but I think Shalotte’s is lacking in comparison to the others. Shallistera I feel looks nice, but also suits the tone and culture of her tribe well.

  • kawaii baka

No not bad but I’m still sticking with japanese dub. I just like everything in their original language- I have no complaints about anything I wont judge until the release of the game. ^.^ but good to see the trailer out that means their dubbing at the moment or whatever but they are working on the game anyways.

  • Yan Zhao

Sounds about as average, emotionless, and unmemorable as expected. Back to Jap Dubs.

    • Guest

      Yeah, no.

  • Kenchi Houmoto

Why does every Dusk Heroine have the same generic, bland voice?

  • PenguinPlayer

The voices are not that bad, but it lacks something. I would say heart, but that’s too vague of a thing, it’s not like they’re lacking in effort, but more like they’re too subdued, they lack the energy and motivation the actual characters would have in the situation, like someone just printed them on paper for the actors to voice with no instructions concerning context and they tried to be as neutral as possible.

Or maybe it is just lack of effort, but I like to think I’m a nice person so I shan’t think that with no evidence.

  • Spirit Macardi

    I think I heard Lucien Dodge :D

So… Does that mean Dust is in Dusk? x3

  • Sounds okay. None of their voices really stuck out that much, but I have no problem with them overall.

  • Nis America

by the way I am Arabian and English not my native language

but seriously I don’t understand the hatred of English dub

I found Japanese voices good but I love more English dub

it’s help a lot to study English learn more vocabularies

even I watch Anime in English dub

I don’t say English dub the bitter always but I prefer to watch and listening instated of watch and reading the sub

also I really love English language sound

    my favorites voice actor

    Johnny young botch

    Crispin freeman

    Stephanie Sheh

    Melissa Fahn

    • ShawnOtakuSomething

I AGREE I never understood the hate for dubs. its like Japanese Is some sort of Sacred language to some people.

      • Milewide

        It’s a matter of taste.

        And hate tastes GOOD!

        • ShawnOtakuSomething

…….oh? speaking of Hate,I have a monster girl to show you

          • Milewide

            Please do!

          • ShawnOtakuSomething

            OT

    • Magicks

Some of them are okay, some of them are just… Not very good. It sometimes feels like the voices are a little bit off of what you’d imagine from the characters.

To note; I’ve played all of Arland in english dub, Ayesha in english dub (No choice there, lol), and Eschalogy in JPN dub.

  • Robert Kupper

I like the voices, I think they’ll grown on me a bit more too as I play.

  • Anontastic

Sounds like English dubbing 101 here, which is to say the voices sound precisely as you’d predict they would. Maybe it will sound better in a full scene with context and all, because they’ve done a rather good job with dubs in some of the past games.

  • Bakano

Good thing for me I adapted to muting games and just playing my own tunes the pass few years o 3o

  • Codex

    What’s with the videos in news articles lately here not having the seeking options for youtube :S makes trying to skim through the videos a pain D;

  • Bob Thulfram

“Victor Wesker” mentioned the idea of an Atelier Iris remake. I really would love to see that. Atlier Iris is just about my favorite game (Ni No Kuni edges it out) but it would be even better in modern graphics, especially also playable on the PS3 (my PS2 is broken).

I wonder if there’s any chance or if anyone remembers Atelier Iris?

PS: the Atelier Shallie town clip reminded me of Ni No Kuni.

    • Sacchan

Atelier Iris series is still my favorite game from PS2 era! I really miss playing those. I’d love the idea of those getting remake, but I doubt it’ll happen.

  • Naygen

    *Sigh*
    I miss Iris and MK…

    • I miss Salburg and the older titles. vuv
I still want another remake! TTATT

  • notentirelythere

Everyone but Shallie honestly sounded pretty good! Shallie had this whole, child-actor-brute-forcing-through-lines feel. Everyone else though had some pretty good, not-to-exaggerated emotional spice. Especially, uh… Green Shallie. Whatever her name is.
EXCEPT THE BATTLE SOUND BITES… the power of alchemy left a bad taste in my mouth. “Ok, so these are for the battles, right?” “Yeah.” “LET’S SOUND REALLY BORED AND QUIET”
What’s voice direction like for English dub projects of games with this budget level?

  • Kornelious

The voices sound pretty good, I recognized Johnny Young Bosch, and everyone else sounds fitting of there characters, So i’m happy :)

  • Kornera

I get excited for all the Atelier games, I just don’t actually buy+play them. One of these days I will end up buying them all and just doing a marathon them.

  • Even though I like the Shallie voices themselves, something feels dull or off with some of the acting in parts. I’ll probably play it with JP and EN dubs though~.

  • Eric Quaresma

I’ll wait for Atelier Shallie Plus for Vita

  • CH3N9

Preferable Japanese dub. ’cause it is awesome.
    :D
