By Spencer . December 22, 2014 . 12:45am

One Piece: Super Grand Battle X is one of the first games to utilize amiibo figures on Nintendo 3DS. Players can unlock costumes that turn Luffy in Mario or Luigi, Brook into Marth, and Chopper as Kirby by scanning an amiibo. Even the Wii Fit Trainer amiibo is used in One Piece: Super Grand Battle X, it unlocks a costume for Nami.

Here’s a list of costumes you can unlock with amiibo:

Luffy – Mario/Luigi

Zoro – Link

Sanji – Fox

Usopp – Yoshi

Nami – Wii Fit Trainer

Brook – Marth

Franky – Donkey Kong

Robin – Samus

Tony Tony Chopper – Kirby

One Piece: Super Grand Battle X is out in Japan now. A patch will add in support for amiibo and add Sabo to the game.

  • Totally Da Real Ducked

Now just add Luffy/Zoro to Smash and I’ll be complete!

    • William Carpenter

No way Luffy gets in before Goku.

      • Totally Da Real Ducked

        XD Fak off

Goku would be a clone of Sonic’s final Smash.

        • Slayven19

I never actually thought of that lol.

  • James Robert Thompson

    Franky Kong is best Kong!

  • Wicked Rob

    Wow that song is terrible

  • Namuro

What? Robin in a Power Suit?

  • Loli Desu

  • Tiredman

Chopper as Kirby……man, just thinking it makes me laugh. Saw the Mario Luffy and that was a laugh riot right there. Looking forward to seeing the other costumes in action.

  • Michael Cornwall

I have a new dream now. Nintendo should collaborate with Shonen Jump and Namco Bandai to put the Big 4 (Goku, Luffy, Naruto, Ichigo) in Smash. Hell it will never happen but with Namco localizing J-Stars Victory Vs and Giving One piece characters actual Nintendo Costumes anything is possible in my book.

    • Adrian Duran

I prefer a Nintendo vs Shonen Jump, or something, in the vein of Marvel vs Capcom

      • Michael Cornwall

I actual would love that style of gameplay, but now thinking about it. I think it would be best if it was smash bros style of gameplay because I feel the 2D fighter gameplay is more Capcom while Nintendo is more 2D Fighting platform like smash heck even shonen jump made their own smash game on DS.

        • Adrian Duran

I just meant the roster should be half Nintendo and half SJ

rather than a Smash Bros game with just a handful of SJ characters

          • Michael Cornwall

            ohhh ok

  • Lifestreamer

This power suit in Robin is mad cool, but with Franky it would be better! Franky kong is also good.

Blackbeard should have a wario costume, but it is not possible at this point…

    • Princess_Eevee9

Actually Ussop as Yoshi is brilliant due to Yoshi being somewhat of a marksman and depending on its color have different abilities.

      • Yeah, they all fit who their tied to. But if your looking at it ability wise, then it would make more sense to use Samus for Usopp than Robin.

        • Slayven19

I think they wanted to keep the genders faithful and samus is female so…

          • Obviously. That was kinda my point by saying they fit who their tied to.

  • Princess_Eevee9

I need this game please Bandai.

  • Spirit Macardi

They still missed out on a clever joke by not having Zoro get the Fox outfit.

Seriously. “Zoro” literally means “fox” in Spanish.

    • AuraGuyChris

Unfortunately, it doesn’t. The name Zoro is missing an extra “r” to truly mean Fox in Spanish.

      • Spirit Macardi

Okay, one letter off. Still. Obvious gag = Missed.

        • KingofSarus

No. The actual real Japanese gag that was missed is Chopper not being able to dress up as Pikachu as well.

  • fairysun

Rayleigh and Whitebeard team-up?! OK guys, One Piece is over, you guys can go home now. We have clear winner.

  • Franky Oda Abraham

The lack of Peach is upsetting… I was really hoping we would see Boa X Peach… still hoping…

  • Gray Aria

OMG Please let Bandai Namco localize this! When’s the last time we had an actual One Piece fighting game in North America?

    • doubleO7

      That was like… 2006, I think. Been a long time…

    • JackgarPrime

Didn’t some of the recent 3DS ones come out here? Or were those just action games?

      • Gray Aria

Unlimited World Red is an action game and Romance Dawn is a turn-based rpg. As for fighting games, there haven’t been many made at all, let alone, released in North America. There was Gear Spirit for the DS which never released outside Japan. There was Gigant Battle for the DS which released in Europe but not the US. Then Gigant Battle 2: New World never released outside Japan either.

  • Slayven19

Why didn’t namco just go ahead and announce a localization for this? We know its coming somewhere along the lines.

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

    Usopp – Yoshi

    Usopp – IS Yoshi

    you ride yoshi

    that mean you ride Usopp

    Usopp for pirate king 2015

  • I just knew Franky Kong was a given.

  • wahyudil

    look very fun …
