Five Nights At Freddy’s creator Scott Cawthorn is already working on horror game threequel Five Nights At Freddy’s 3.

A third game in the Five Nights At Freddy’s series was teased on the game’s website with an image that reads “I am still here.” And, it seems, Freddy peers through the darkness next to this text right at you. Sinister.

Confirmation of this teaser being Five Nights At Freddy’s 3 related can be obtained by emailing Cawthorn, as the auto-reply reads: “Five Nights at Freddy’s 3 is in production! Please do not email me asking any questions about it; NO questions about FNaF3 will be read or answered!”

The original Five Nights At Freddy’s was released in August 2014. Five Nights At Freddy’s 2 was released in November 2014. So, if that timeline is anything to go by, you can probably expect Five Nights At Freddy’s 3 to be available in the next month or two.

  • Fub Frank

Good hustle on making this game on the peak of youtube click bait games.

    • Haunter!

He struck while the iron was hot.

  • Altin

The guy is enjoying creating these games, and god speed to him for having such a success with his games!

  • Shippoyasha

Looks like we have a lot of time for there to be 5 or 6 FNF games by August 2015.

But the game series is legitimately creepy and it’s fun for what it is. I just wish the meta gameplay is more complex than constantly toggling cameras for the next gemes.

    • AzureRyuujin

Indeed. In my mind, it’s better to treat them as episodes rather than standalone games, because they play off each other very well.

  • Hagaren

    Possible sequels:
Five Nights at Freddy’s 4: The Freddyning
Five Nights at Freddy’s 5: Nights at Freddy’s
    Five Nights 6
    Nights at Freddy’s 7

    • SpeeeeedowaGOOONnnn

Five nights at Freddy’s 8: Are you ready for Freddy?
9 Freddy’s at five nights: Are you Freddy for ready?

      • Hagaren

Five Nights at Freddy’s 10: Fredtribution
        Freddy’s 11.

        • SpeeeeedowaGOOONnnn

Five Nights at Freddy’s 12: Fredvengance

          • Hagaren

And of course Freddy X and Freddy vs Chuck E.

          • SpeeeeedowaGOOONnnn

Then the spin-off, Weekend at Bernie’s

          • Fub Frank

Five Nights at Freddy’s 13: Freddy in Space vs Jason.

        • TheManWithPants

Five Nights at Freddy’s 14: Battle of Gods
Five Nights at Freddy’s 15: The Revival of [F]reddy

      • Say that ten times fast.

    • Kelohmello

Five Nights at Freddy’s 5: Nights at Freddy’s is ACTUALLY a pretty genius title.

    • Envatta

Five Nights at Freddy’s 22: Electric Boogaloo.

    • 古戸ヱリカ

You cannot convince me the second one wasn’t called 2 Nights 2 Freddious.

  • Raw

Too much hate for this game. It’s a budget game that sets its goal clearly and accomplishes it perfectly. Some people may just see it for the jump scares but that shouldn’t diminish it’s value. FNaF2 was weaker than the first one but lets see how this one fares.

    • Capricciola

Another thing some people don’t seem to understand is there are a lot of people who were legitimately terrified by old 80-90’s puppets and animatronics as children and that carries over to when you’re an adult. If you weren’t afraid of that as a child though it’s not going to have a lasting affect on you. That doesn’t mean you can’t appreciate it for what it is though.

      • Spirit Macardi

        I was never afraid of animatronics and puppets myself, yet the games still freak the hell out of me x3;

      • Raw

People hating on a successful game cause they don’t like it. I’m also pretty sure this one is gonna be the last one.

  • I wanna say the best part of the Five Nights at Freddy’s phenomenon is the sheer amount of ridiculously adorable fanart of the characters. ‘Specially Foxy and Mangle. Who would’ve guessed a couple of fox animatronics in desperate need of repair could win the hearts of so many? :3

  • FitzpatrickPhillips

    lol can’t blame him

  • Slow down.

  • ivanchu77

This franchise is crearly a fad that will end forgotten sooner or later , so he is doing the smart thing, riding the wave of popularity while it last

  • SpeeeeedowaGOOONnnn

Hope this one will add a little more to the table. Like being able to freely explore the dinner when the power goes off in order to some how manage to get it running again. I would legitimately shit my pants having to stealth around in the dark, avoiding contact with the animatronics

  • Very creative game and it is creepy. The creator must be chuggin’ Red Bull with a side of meth because he wastes no time.

  • See you next year when 10 comes out.

    • SlickRoach

By then it’ll be Five Years at Freddy’s

  • Envatta

Not even Assassin’s Creed is this fast! Oh well, well done on him making pretty good horror games in the time and on the budget that he does. If it was me, I’d be taking advantage of it’s current popularity too. Hope things keep going well for him and the series.

  • Cloke

Great way to bury your game quickly.

  • Spirit Macardi

With any other series a release schedule like this would be a bad thing, but do consider that these are short, inexpensive indie horror games. They’re less like sequels and more like episodes when you really break it down.

That being said, I’d love to see the series move beyond the Clickteam Fusion engine and go full 3D.

  • Gael Summers

They’re getting pumped out so fast, that any sense of mystery, suspense, fear or immersion I might’ve had for the first game is just lost. I hope this one doesn’t do so much as FNAF2. Imo, a lot of the meechanics in it just felt like busywork leading to toned down jump scares, as opposed to trying to survive under limited conditions

    • Kaitsu

I never looked at FNAF as a scary game. It’s pure strategy than anything.

My only gripe now is that he changes the whole game up rather than keeping it like how you play it now. FNAF2 is basically just a more tedious FNAF1.

      • Gael Summers

Yeah, I totally agree with you about it being strategy. I’m hoping 3 doesn’t just slap more tedium into the gameplay. Outside my initial “wowie jump scare” reaction when I played the first one game isn’t scary to me at all. But there’s still an atmosphere that it tries for that’s definitely hindered by 2’s tedious playstyle

    • Shady Shariest

There’s lore behind it. And every game has had a nigh-unanswered cliffhanger size of da Titanic with it :<

  • Cyrus

FNAF is like the “Paranormal Activity of Video Games”, the first was released and gained a huge following with such a simple formula and concept, so more and more get released. Wondering how long it will take for this to get stale.

  • Stando

Hopefully he eventually makes more games like The Desolate Hope once he burns out Freddy.

  • Jettythesunfish

Looking forward to see how this turns out.

  • Rusworch

Fuck annual releases, let’s get weekly releases up in this bitch!
    YEAH!

  • Black Heaven

    There’s… more of this?!
How many Fazbear Pizzerias are there??

Aww well, according to them Game Theorists, there were 3 of them excluding the original pizzeria.
But wouldn’t they break their supposed horrifying story if they make more?
Like… with all dem murderin’ goin on, pretty sure somebody shouldn’t wanna make more Fazbear branches.
Or perhaps they’ll just cook up their lore and expand them.

    • Shady Shariest

It wouldn’t break the story since we have yet to actually experience something that isn’t fallout from the actual plot in lore :X

  • Shady Shariest

    C’mon lucky ’87!

    • MassGamesinek

Hey im really curious about your profile pic. If you don’t mind can you tell me where its from?

      • Hagaren

It’s one of the new classes from Disgaea 5.

      • Shady Shariest

It’s the new Cabbit class of Disgaea 5. Just skidaddle to Disgaea.jp/5 and click characters. Should find it right away.

        • MassGamesinek

          Oh thanks

          • Shady Shariest

            No prob :3

            Anything else you wanna ask?

          • MassGamesinek

No not really, but if i do i wont be shy to ask.

          • Shady Shariest

            ‘ts the spirit =W=

  • MassGamesinek

I wonder if in this one you play as the phone guy.

  • MrAptronym

Lets run this into the ground!

  • Ben Sylvia

Wonder if we get more tangible clues as to the culprit than just vague implications.

Also hope we get some explanation as to wtf the Marionette is. FNaF expanded on Golden Freddy, so it could be assumed.

    • James Fox

      didn’t Game Theory do that?

      • Ben Sylvia

Well yeah, but there’s still like 3-4 possibilities, as nothing 100% implies a single individual to be the culprit.

And I have to say, I’m more interested in the lore/backstory than the games themselves. XD I’d kill to have a giant plush Marionette. XD

    • Capricciola

I really hope the next game has you watching for the culprit along with of the animatronics. that could be really cool.

  • Nagi

Looks like freddy fazbear is replacing teddie as a milking mascot :p

  • J_Joestar

is it wrong that my only real interest in the series is because of the theories? the GAME TH- *gets mauled by haunted animatronic*

  • Releasing more games faster than Assassin’s Creed?

Ubisoft’s gotta step up their game.

    • FUnny thing is these game are probably for the majority, more fun that current AC games.

So your right… Ubisoft REALLY needs to step up their game.

  • The Festive Fool

    This fucking series is overrated.

    • JerseyRepresentin

tell that to the millions of kids that will want to be Chicka or Freddy for halloween 2015

      • Agent Rose

        I will if I could.
But around here, people ain’t into that shit.

        • JerseyRepresentin

Around here?! you mean… the whole world? There’s this site, called youtube.com, where people post videos of stuff, check it out! See that millions of kids are in search of answers about this game. It’s trending hard, pure gold.

  • Kornelious

    ….Well that’s just silly……

I guess its cool, But I don’t remember many people asking for a THIRD of this game….Unless there is some big overarching story going on that I missed -_-

    • JerseyRepresentin

Silly huh? This guy is going to be a multimillionaire by the end of the year, if he isn’t already. How’s that for silly?
