5pb.’s new project is a remake of sci-fi visual novel YU-NO: A girl who chants love at the bound of this world, the company has confirmed.

The original YU-NO was developed by the late Hiroyuki Kanno (EVE: Burst Error) for PC-98 and published by ELF. For the remake, 5pb. president Chiyomaru Shikura will serve as the game’s executive producer while Makoto Asada—formerly of Cave—is serving as producer. Meanwhile, Ryo Nagi, known for his work on Ar Tonelico, is handling character design.

On the game’s official website, Asada says that the original YU-NO is a game he cares for deeply, and that 5pb. have acquired the rights to the game from its original owner.

YU-NO will be released in 2015, although a date and platforms haven’t been specified.
