In Japan, Minna de Wai Wai! Spelunker was one of Square Enix’s Nintendo Switch launch games. Now, it is getting a North American and European release as Spelunker Party. The game will receive a Nintendo Switch demo in both regions on October 7, 2017, followed by a full release on both the Nintendo Switch and PC on October 19, 2017.

Spelunker Party is an updated version of the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita Spelunker World. (North America received the PlayStation 4 iteration back in 2015.) While the previous release was a free-to-play game with both solo and online six-player multiplayer, the Nintendo Switch and PC versions will be $29.99 and offer single player and offline and online four-player multiplayer. The gameplay in both versions is identical, however. You send a frail Spelunker into over 100 stages, attempting to clear each one. There are goalposts along the way that provide oxygen and a place to pick up in the event your avatar dies. If all goes well, you can collect Litho-stones that provide you with things like equipment and pets.

Spelunker Party launched on the Nintendo Switch in Japan on April 20, 2017.
