Evangelion Rei and Asuka Look Up Figures Are Happy

Megahobby opened up pre-orders for the Look Up figures of Asuka and Rei from Evangelion. You’ll be able to pre-order them from Premium Bandai but as a note, it does not offer international shipping and you cannot even view their site unless you’re in Japan.

Both figures cost 9,240 JPY ($62.75) together. They’ll also come with little cushions that you can sit them on. The Rei cushion is blue and the Asuka cushion is red. Pre-orders opened on December 7, 2023 and the figures will ship out some time in June 2024. Again, as a reminder, if you want to purchase these but live outside of Japan, you’ll have to either ask your local hobby shop if it plans on importing them or you’ll need to use a proxy service.

Megahouse first revealed prototypes of these figures back in November 2023. At the time, their eyes were the only parts of them that had color. While Rei mostly looks the same, the sculptors at Megahouse decided to close Asuka’s mouth and give her a smile instead. Originally, her mouth, while still smiling, was open. It’s unclear if this is to make her expression more of a contrast to Rei’s, or if it was more for aesthetic purposes.
