Wargroove Goes Over Event Creation

In Wargroove, Chucklefish’s upcoming strategy game that takes inspiration from Advance Wars, people will be able to create their own custom maps and campaigns with a built-in editor. This feature will be present in the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC versions of the game. To help people better understand how it works, an update has been released showing how events are created on maps to make certain special events happen.

The goal of the Wargroove editor is to allow people to place event triggers. These scripts will let you determine win/lose conditions, create branching paths that influence current and future battles, prepare missions, and even alter the rules of the game. The two examples shown in this announcement, it goes over adding a win condition event that is triggered if the current player has one commander at a designated place at the map. In the other, an ambush that is only active if a certain objective is not complete is set up. One flag is created to show that it is up. Then, a new trigger is created in a fashion similar to the victory one, Only this time, instead of winning, it triggers the ambush to happen once and spawn a soldier, dog, and cutscene.

Wargroove will come to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in early 2018.
