A Glimpse Of Chrono Trigger’s Monster Arena

Chrono Trigger’s multiplayer mode *is* monster battling. A scan from Shonen Jump confirms the rumor and the existence of the Dimensional Distortion, an original dungeon created for Chrono Trigger DS. In the Dimensional Arena you can select one of your monsters and pit it against another inside the colosseum. Combat rounds advance automatically which is reminiscent of Final Fantasy VI’s colosseum or the more recent Whytkin fights. Winners get rare items. It’s unclear if Chrono Trigger will allow you to raise any original monsters, but the one screen shot shows an existing monster from the prehistoric ages can be placed under your control.
