A Glimpse Of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D’s Hint System

One of the new features in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D is a hint system, which is similar in intent to Nintendo’s “Super Guide” feature in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. The point is to give the player a hand when they can’t get past an area by themselves.

In Ocarina of Time 3D, this is done by giving the player “visions”. Nintendo released a “New Features” video today, which shows how these work:

 

 

Come to think of it, this isn’t exactly a “new” feature for Nintendo. The Metroid Prime games featured an automated hint system as well, that would helpfully point you toward your next objective if you wandered around for too long.
