Ace Combat 7 originally released in 2019 for PS4, Xbox One and PC. Players took on the role of a fighter pilot for the Osean Federation as they battled the Kingdom of Erusea. The Switch version is set to include all the original features of the other versions of the game, including the multiplayer combat modes for 2-8 players. As well as a new trailer for the game, Bandai Namco also released a comparison video, showing the visuals of the Switch version next to the PS4 equivalent. Performance between the two versions appears to be similar, although the Switch visuals are a little downgraded from the original release. The Switch version will release exclusively as a digital title.

The Switch version of Ace Combat 7 will include all DLC released with the game’s Season Pass on other systems. This includes a selection of new plane sets and three single player missions: “Unexpected Visitor”, “Anchorhead Raid” and “Ten Million Relief Plan”. Two additional aircraft and a music player will also be included. Bandai Namco stated that additional DLC that isn’t included will be released at a later date. It’s unknown if this will include the Top Gun collaboration.

The release of Ace Combat 7 on Switch is the first Nintendo release in the series since 2011. The previous game was Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy for the 3DS, which was a remake of Ace Combat 2. Ace Combat 7 has been a success on other systems, selling a total of 5 million copies.

The Switch version of Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown will release on July 11, 2024. It’s available now for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
