Oh, that wait wasn’t long. Just last week Sony said the Ad-Hoc Party Beta would be delayed from October 30 to “early November.” Well today is “early November” and the Ad-Hoc Party Beta is live on the Japan’s PlayStation Store.

The Ad-Hoc Party software lets PSP owners play local ad-hoc games with players far, far or maybe not so far away with the help of a PlayStation 3. The system supports voice chat if you have a PlayStation 3 headset too so it’s well equipped for handling the Monster Hunter series. And right now that’s all Ad-Hoc Party works with. If you don’t have Monster Hunter 2G Portable the Ad-Hoc Party Beta isn’t worth downloading. However, in the future Sony plans to support other ad-hoc games like Phantasy Star Portable.

No release has been announced for North America, but chances are we will see a more complete version of Ad-Hoc Party here when Monster Hunter Freedom Unite comes out
