Aksys Localizing A New Jake Hunter Game

This article is over 15 years old and may contain outdated information

Jake Hunter: Detective Chronicles didn’t start the Tantei Jinguuji Saburo series on the right foot. Stories were cut from the Japanese version and the localization left a lot to be desired. Moves like this could end a series prematurely, but according to Nintendo’s spring 2009 lineup Aksys isn’t giving up on Jake Hunter yet.

Jake Hunter Detective Chronicles: Memories of the Past is slated to come out on May 26 on the Nintendo DS. Since the game hasn’t been announced officially we’re not sure which Tantei Jinguuji Saburo DS game it is. It could be Tantei Jinguuji Saburo: Kienai Kokoro which came out last year or Tantei Jinguuji Saburo: Fuserareta Shinjitsu which comes out in Japan this March.

Always good to see more visual novels getting localized, but gritty detective stories are tired. Aksys might have better luck moving on with another series. We have some suggestions for them.
